Impulse is giving PC fans an added bonus for their Diggs, Tweets and Forum participation starting today as Stardock announced the formation of a new fan-based society, the Elemental Army. Fans of the anticipated PC fantasy strategy title Elemental: War of Magic can win limited edition / custom Elemental packs, up to $100 in gift cards to Stardock’s digital distribution platform, Impulse and more by simply enlisting in the Elemental Army and participating in online discussions about the upcoming epic turn-based strategy game.
kyogre: Do you think announcement facilitates a rekindling of the Elemental twitter account?
ahhh...the beauty of the marketing department, this shall be fun
Of course! I was actually just wondering about that. I'm always ready to post them to the forums
I might post some links and info on elemental in some mod forums to spread the word!
I don't care if I win but PEOPLE NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THIS GAME!
When Beta 2 comes out I can get some really nice screenshots... now the waiting game.
This method will take an actual person some time to do, but it's better than that "Road to War" roll-out for Warhammer Online:Age of Reckoning. I just kept inviting spamgourmet email addresses to rack up the points to be sure to get my sigil of cursed company.
So again, what about previews? Only english writing or I can use whatever language i want?
is it anything like this picture?
zoinks now i wish i had some artistic brilliance, ahh well back to the "drawing board" badumtish
So wait how do you show that you're tracking something?
IE. How do you show a wishlist quest for Gamespot?
EDIT: Nevermind, didn't realise that there was a page showing what you're tracking.
Well, I registered before knowing what it was excatly, and I must say that I disapprove somewhat of the concept for ethical reasons: with such a system in place, it means that any good review might be more because the author was hoping for some points in the Elemental Army.
I still remember before the release of Master of Orion III when some beta-testers where praising the game far more that it was worth.
Not that I don't have faith in Stardock: I already preordered the game and I like what I've seen in the beta (beta 2 this week, yeah ! ), but a really good game shouldn't have to use such cheap tricks to generate some buzz.
Ha, i have to admit this idea is genius if it takes off Very smart!
Would writing short stories that take place in the world of Elemental nab me more points than digging up articles?
Cause' I could do that.
In fact I think I will do that, tomorrow night, after my Graph theory exam.
Now, would you like a horror, thriller, comedy and if you say romance I will cut your head off.
I find the idea of writing short stories the most interesting one along with fan art. (purrfect excuse for walls of text!!!!)
there is something checking its a valid email address, however, if it doesn't think its valid it pops an error saying to please enter a valid address... The error connecting to web service is for something else, I'm still trying to figure out what exactly it causing it send me a PM with the different emails and I can make sure its not something with that?
For questions of other languages, feel free to write your stuff in whatever language you want, we will do our best (read: google will do its best) to translate it for us when we are awarding points.
Also for Jack Trowell's comments, we are not asking for people to be submitting reviews of the game for this. In fact there is no way anyone could review the game right now, the beta is not a finished product. We are simply looking to get more eyes to look at the game and judge it for themselves when it comes out. If people are submitting impressions of the game it should be more in the vein of a preview, less opinion more features/facts.
This looks like fun. Especially like the icons for all things (got 'antidote' for signing up ^^)
As some users seem to be having issues with it, please make sure that when you provide a link it's something that actually points to a publicly viewable page. Some people have submitted things that go to your own user page on a third party site (such that it just shows the page for who's looking at it, rather than always yours), or things that not only require a login but a promotion or special access so that we can't confirm them.
FYI: You'll now see your and everyone else's current rank on the Elemental forums, along with your current badge. This will not appear for any Stardock employee.
Bara
can i get the apathetic badge plz?
or a kitten one, that would do nicely
This idea does smack of the same problems the soviets had with their quotas on intellectual production. We don't want forced propaganda out there, do we?
If we do I can write some in exchange for social capital and informal compensation.
Though no one asked me...
I think the icons for the forum are a tad large, but that 's just me.
Let me mention that participation on Elemental forums would initially get some general points, but reporting every single reply made on the Elemental forums will not go toward new points. We are looking to spread the word outside.
update for Elemental Army: you can now view other Army members' profiles by clicking their name in the side boxes, leaderboards or Quest reports. This will bring you to a view of their quests they have completed to get where they are along with the loot they have gotten so far.
If you would like to return to viewing your own profile you can click up on "My Profile" on the top right next to the logout button. While viewing other users' profiles you can still submit quests and refer friends, you don't have to go back to your own profile.
Note you cannot view another users' profile unless you are logged in.
Kestral, would it be possible to tie that back into the Elemental forum, so that we can access it from folk's icons here?
Kitten Badge?
The kitten says that you've nothing to fear from this scheme, nothing at all...
