I recently got myself addicted to the Anno 1404 series "Dawn of Discovery". I love strategy building games but somehow missed this whole series until now. I think the best thing about this game is the re-playability. I love they have random maps. I really hate games that don't ship with some sort of generator.
The funniest thing tho is every 2 hour mark you have been playing, the computer voice says things to encourage you to take a break. I almost rolled out of my chair the first time I heard it.
The copy protection has been completely removed with patch v1.1 for the DVD version. Digital download versions retain the copy protection. -- Wikipedia
I played the demo, thought it was pretty good. But they were having a lot of trouble at the time with the servers that were supposed to authorize your copy of the retail. So I just let it go by and never looked back. The Tages DRM as they have it set up is very restrictive. There is a 3 activation limit. After that you have to call Ubisoft and get your nose brown.
I liked the game. But right now it would be the DVD version, but only if it turns out to be true that Tages is removed with patch 1.1. Wikipedia has been wrong before.
Hmmm ... well, I liked the game but it was a bit obscure to me what was needed to build which and where you needed a road and where you did not.
That's true :http://anno1404.wikia.com/wiki/Copyright_protectionhttp://forums-de.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/8231073557/m/4571009657?r=3871002597#3871002597
Actually, that's in a way how I found the game.
I really wanted to play the new settlers, but I refuse to deal with the always on DRM scheme they have. So I opted for this game. I think it's fantastic. The in game accolades are very nice.
Could anyone tell me if Settlers 6 is worth checking out?
