Welcome to our clan. We are the biggest and best clan in Demigod, and arguably the only clan with any hope of survival. What is our goal? To get games going without the ridiculous wait times, meet lots of cool people, and last but not least, have lots of fun. If you want a clan based on skill, you won't find one in this game.
Q: Are you the clan leader?
No, absolutely not. GM worked as a democracy, and the same deal goes here - majority rules. I am just your Public Relations (PR) guy. I have noticed that having a solid PR guy does keep the clan intact, and I have made sure I am pretty much accessible and visible as often as I can. I am on msn, xfire, skype, facebook and vent. If you need to find me, you probably will find me and of course I'll allow you to find me. Just ask if you're interested.
Q: What is the recruitment process?
There is no recruitment process, we will accept anyone who wants to join. Just add the tag, hop onto vent, say Hi and I'll add you on here. If you want I can serenade your entrance to the clan with a song of your personal choice, but it must be Top 40.
Q: Are there any rules?
1. Be nice, be respectful of others. I understand trash talking is part of the game for some, but please don't extend it to something personal. It's just a game after all. 2. Unless there is an agreement among the players in the game, please play balanced games. I understand that completely balanced games are probably not possible at the moment, but try to make it as balanced as possible. 3. Have fun!

Here are the current members of OMG (in alphabetical order):
OMG_awuffleablehedgie (a.k.a. OMG_BlackHatHedgehog)
So I used to refer to him as waffles, because I always thought his name was supposed to relate to waffles. Apparently, I was wrong. He's wuffleable - which means huggable apparently. I'm not sure how a hedgehog is huggable, but I guess it is in his world. Hedgie is his nickname, and he's probably the coldest person in this clan, but once you get used to his cold exterior, he turns out to be a really nice guy. He just has these awkward mood swings, where he's super energetic around 10pm EST, and then after 12am, he tends to be super cynical, and then after 3am he turns on his seductive bedroom voice. If you feel offended by him, don't be, because he's just a hedgehog. If you have any questions about any statistical stuff in Demigod, Hedgie knows all. It's actually kinda scary.
OMG_Blackmage (a.k.a. OMG_synnworld)
OMG-CaptainTaco
Taco was an important addition to the clan because he provides the comic relief for everyone. Just look for his posts and you will instantly know what I mean. He likes to describe himself as a terrible DG player, but he only says that just so his opponents will let their guard down and then Taco can strike. I always knew he was a sneaky guy, right when I saw his Pedobear avatar. As you can tell from his name, he loves Tacos but I'm not sure how strong that love is. In fact, none of us really know if his love for Tacos is stronger than tacoguy's. That is a question up for further discussion.
OMG_Defenz
A player from Vancouver. That's all I really know so far but if you're Canadian then that automatically makes you cool.
OMG-dontforgetyourpeanuts
I have a feeling this guy is loaded.
OMG_Epiphenomenon
Epi is what we all call him, so I suppose that's his nickname. He's the brains of the group, Mr.PhD in computer science. I will be joining him in September (hopefully if I survive the summer) but until then he is above me academically. I shall be your colleague soon Epi! He is the voice of reason. He's very mature and civilized, so I'm not really sure why he's a gamer (haha juust kidding). He is currently my academic advisor, even though he never agreed to it. But who cares, I'm sure he'll agree cause he's a nice guy. If you need academic advice, I suggest you go to Epi.
OMG-howboutnoooo
We all call him Max, because that's his name. He is the dog of the family - and that is not to say that he plays an unimportant role. Dogs are a man's best friend and they are extremely friendly, just like Max. Sometimes when you listen to him you might think he's on LSD, but really he's naturally just like that. He sees the world in magical ways, and he opens up your mind to a whole new world. He's also extremely active - as in he's pretty hyper and is always energetic until around 11pm when he usually goes to bed. I initally made fun of Max for sleeping so early as a teenager, but once I realized how much energy he spends just talking I understand why he's exhausted by the end of the day. If you are feeling down, go talk to Max. He is the guy in the clan who will cheer you up.
OMG__IN1
OMG_Jackho
OMG_Jona
Jona is just Jona. He's the drama queen. Yes, believe it or not I am not the biggest drama queen, he is and he's damn proud of it. From just 3 minutes of talking to him, you'd realize that he likes to put himself on the pedestal, and he does. But even with all that attitude, he's a lot of fun to hang out with. Listening to him on vent always makes my day. He also never rage quits, and never actually gets angry - which is kind of surprising now that I think about it. He also has nice eyes that he cherishes, I'm not sure if that makes a difference.
OMG_Jongalt26
Nickname is Jon. One continuous question that has been floating around is this, "Who would win in a fight against Jon, KAL-EL and yeahneil?" That is an answer no one has been able to answer yet. Those 3 in my mind are the tough trios - but really, they're all actually probably the nicest people in the clan right from the get go. I'm not going to lie, I was scared to talk to them initially but after maybe.. 2 days? I got comfortable with them. Jon to me is a wonderful fatherly figure so he is definitely the father of the family.
OMG_KAL-EL
His name is pronounced just like the way it's spelled. If Jon is our father, KAL-EL is probably our grandfather, except he's not even that old. So why do I call him the grandfather? Because he has so many people that support him that you can't help but admit that there's something about KAL-EL that makes people like him. The answer becomes quite obvious when you engage in a conversation with him. He always keeps it real, and is genuinely friendly. I still have a hard time matching his friendliness with his tough voice but I'm getting there.
OMG_Mybones
A fellow gleek, and although there are some disagreements between us about who the best character in glee is (obviously Rachel, but he refuses to admit her greatness), as long as he is a fan of glee, I am a fan of him.
OMG_NinkiCZ
I'm just your average joe who's Asian. I'm quite boring so let's move on to someone more interesting.
OMG_Nomilarac
OMG_Obiwhan
I've actually always wanted to meet Obi (his nickname) after yeahneil was making fun of my voice and mentioned that he also makes fun of Obi's. When I actually got to meet him, he wasn't quite what I expected because contrary to what yeahneil thinks, he just had a normal voice. Obi is one of the few that makes me literally LOL. I sometimes do wonder if he's telling me the truth about his age though. You'd understand if you've known him long enough. He is the joker. No, not the joker from Batman, but an actual guy who makes jokes. However, his jokes are NSFW - Not Safe For Work, so be careful.
OMG_pacov
There really isn't much to say about pacov because for anyone that comes to these forums, you really can't miss his name. I've never gotten to know him on a personal level, but from my encounters with him he's quite a wonderful person. I consider him the father of Demigod, as do most people I'm sure because he plays such an active role in this community. I've always wanted to get to know you myself and I'm glad that the opportunity has arrived. I shall definitely update this introduction after we become familiar with each other. I also did not think you were the type to listen to Ke$ha. From your posts, I always thought you were more the old skool type - so there's definitely lots of things for me to learn.
OMG_Pa1nKi11er
This is irek, yo.
OMG_RedneckNinja
OMG_DD-shred_demon
If you don't know who shred_demon is then you are definitely missing out. He is actually the real Gentleman. He has a beautiful Scottish accent and loves to drink tea. He cannot live without his tea. He is also extremely skilled with his use of emoticons (the best in DG?) and we all have lots to learn from him. I've never heard him get angry, he's always smiling in my mind and he always puts a smile on my face. Therefore, if you are feeling down, talk to shreddy. He is the clan's sun (yes as in the big thing that shines the world), but you'll have to ignore his strong desire to wear a skirt and become a transformer.
OMG_Soccer-mom
I remember seeing the name Soccer-mom on Lagwars and thinking what kind of a person would want to be known as a soccer mom. Although his name is a bit weird, he actually is nothing like his name on vent. First, he's not a mom. Second, he's not even a parent. Third, I'm not even sure if he likes soccer. He's actually one of the younger guys on vent but surprisingly is one of the most mature guys on there too. I suppose it has to do with the fact that he studies physics (which I think is absolutely amazing because I suck at physics). If you want to delve into a discussion on quantum theory, talk to him.
OMG_SoSick
Another Canadian from Edmonton, which makes him cool. Quite a laid back sorta guy, who's apparently an excellent cook. He kind of reminds me of jaws8you (who seemed to have disappeared somewhere) but without the sighing and he also never gets mad. He is a great guy to play games with because he's a great listener, always calm and even takes responsibility for his mistakes - which is quite a rare sight in Demigod, and even in life. He has almost made drastic improvements over these weeks and I'm sure he'll be excellent in no time.
OMG_Splitshadow
Don't be fooled by his age. Kids his age should be listening to Justin Bieber and Miley Cyrus, yet he chooses to listen to Proud Mary by CCR. He likes to blame me for not being on vent, when in fact I am always on and I do pm him from time to time yet he chooses to ignore my messages, probably from Maccilia's terrible influence. He says he can tell a lot about you from your voice, so you should ask him for a personality diagnosis if you're interested.
OMG_Teseer
Everytime I talk to Teseer on vent, he seems like a completely different person. If you look over his posts you can tell that most of the time he's under the influence of some sort of substance, which could explain why he's a different person each time. While he sounds like a tough dude, he's not aggressive at all and I don't think I've ever heard him get mad. He also has this disgusting passion for TB, it's kind of to the point where it's a bit obsessive in my opinion. If you have any questions about TB, ask this man. Provide him with TB replays and he'll be very pleased.
OMG_Zalera (a.k.a. OMG_Sol)
He's barely on so how am I supposed to know anything about him. All I know is that he pops up in the forums once in a while and he seems to be BFFs with Splitshadow.
OMG_Zelax_
OMG_Zex (a.k.a. Cowbuttzex)
I always thought cow was a weird guy because he's the only person who seems to get along with Peter, but when you talk to him he's actually quite normal. I think it's because he's very accepting of everyone, as you can tell from being our first ever member of the week. If you don't know who to talk to when you come onto vent, the first person I would suggest is cow, because he's very considerate and would do his best to include you in games. He's also very encouraging and I think he plays a vital role in merging the members of the clan together.

heh... *wonders if I will hate it*. Sell me on it. I know its free - why would I want to play it though? What's so great? I'm certainly willing to give it a shot.

Alright, lets see...Savage 2...
Ok, first off, it's a totally unique game.
You have one person, per side (2 sides) that act as commander. This person plays a strategy game.
As Commander, you (as most strategy games) build up tech and defenses and such. The difference is, all your units are players. When you build the structure that allows support units, the players can spawn as support units.
Your goal is to make sure the players on the ground have the tools they need to destroy the enemy Lair/Stronghold (like the citadel in Demigod).
Seeing as you have a view from above, you can give orders to other players on the ground and it shows up as a waypoint for them.
The Economy of the game is gold mines. They are spread throughout the map and you must build a Garrison/Sublair (which is also a spawn-point for your action players) in order to build a mine next to it. This gives you income and ensures you meet upkeep.
If the enemy team destroys all your gold mines, you do not meet upkeep. This means your action players will have a much longer respawn as well as your buildings not having a huge armor boost as they usually get.
You also have spells at your disposal and a mana bar. These different spells allow you to swing fights in your teams direction or for key moves. The spells you get are: -Heal (HoT, helps when a good player just finishes a fight as it takes a while to fully heal)-Life Leak (DoT, opposite of heal)-Armor Buff (AoE armor buff for your team)-Armor Debuff (AoE armor debuff for enemy team)-Reveal (Like Scanner Sweep)-Rez (Self Explanatory) -Recall (Allows you to have one player return to the spawn screen. Helps if an expo is under attack and everyone is busy) -Dispell (Dispells all Buffs and Debuffs on a target) -Speed (Large speed boost to your target)-Slow (Opposite of Speed)
You use these buffs for important fights to ensure you win them or other needed situations. (For example: You just started a building and see an enemy running toward it. Slow him and speed an ally to intercept)
As an Action Player, you play from a 3rd person view on the ground. The main fighting in this game is melee.
For melee combat, you left click to swing. You have a 3 swing (4 swing for Marksmen/Shapeshifters) combo. The 3rd swing (you'll know as it will have a blue hue to the swing) does much more damage then the other two, but you will be unable to swing or block for a few seconds after.
You can also block melee attacks (more on that in a sec)
You have 5 meters to pay attention to as an action player:-Health-Mana-Stamina-Charge-Block
Health and Mana are self explanatory.
Stamina is used from Sprinting, Swinging and Jumping.
Charge: Charge is a special red bar. This allows you to charge (duh) forward, as well as 'dodge' left, right, and backwards. This helps with fighting groups of people and maneuvering yourself.
The Block Mechanic:If you block an attack, you take no damage, get a short attack speed buff, and give the blocked player an attack speed debuff.Every time you block, your BLOCK METER (the white bar in the middle of your screen) depletes. When it is empty, you are stunned. You can move, but cant charge, use abilities, sprint, or swing (or block for that matter).Every time you successfully land a hit, you gain a portion of your block meter back.Over time, it regenerates on it's own.
Each side has 7 units.-Builder unit (Builder/Conjurer)-Scout unit (Marksman/Shapeshifter)-Combat unit (Savage/Hunter)-Support/Healer (Chaplain/Shaman)-Heavy combat unit (Legionnaire/Predator)-Melee Siege (Ram/Behemoth)-Ranged Siege (Catapult/Tempest)
While they serve the same roles, each unit is VERY different.
(more coming, doing it alt-tabbin at work)
I assume its graphically so-so, right? But you feel like the game play is up to par? How big is the community?
The graphics aren't terrible.
Check here for screenshots.
As for the community, it's a little small, but very active. I only play on the US servers and theres always a game going.
well... I've queued it up to download. Will give it a shot pretty soon, but not tonight. Thanks for all the info.
I recommend going through the tutorial.
Just don't become a ranger! Ranged weapons are for softening up distant enemies and finishing off fleeing ones.
I'll finish my earlier post with more info when I get a chance, it's CRAZY busy here.
Savage 2 is a good game. It's a melee third person shooter, which is really fun.
FPS games are just retardedly easy to play unless they have some cool mechanics. At least .. on a computer that is... I'm ambidextrous so WASD + right hand mouse is a ridiculously awesome combination for me
Any FPS where there are long range weapons is derp. Anyone with a good mouse hand can just kill people from a mile away without even being seen lmao.
Rakion is, IMO, a better version of Savage, but Savage was much more well produced - in Rakion you can essentially pay 10 bucks and win all your games unless your opponents spend 20 bucks.. and so on.
But the fighting mechanics are just PERFECT. Everything is about timing - you're stunned after attacking for varying times based on your class, so you can just button mash, and you can block-grip, or use a special attack which breaks shields against people who are just spamming block... oh man, it's just better than every fighting and shooter game on Earth. If Microsoft picked it up, gave it some US servers, and made it a $5 a month online game without the micro-transactions for crazy-good benefits, people would call it the best game ever made.
Made by Koreans of course, and so it follows that all the English is horribly written to the point it's just funny.
Savage used to have a rock/paper/scissors mechanic with Attack < Block < Interrupt < Attack. When you guessed right (and controled your attack correctly) the enemy was stunned. I didnt like it. Neither did they, so they changed it.
I have savage two and haven't even played it on line yet. I have only played lol once, and it wasn't even a online game, it was just against pc. The one game I'm playing right now is rise of nations; rise of legends. I hate I can't be a turtler slowly expanding my empire in it, but I love the theme behind it. magic vs steampunk vs scifi! Fear my magical army!
i had fun with those awhile back.
I am the Norse god of turtling.
In Age of Mythology you were allowed to turtle so long as you were turtling up resource nodes around the map...
GREAT mechanic there. You could build walls with gates, and damaging towers that can be upgraded (as well as large fortresses) that allow you to take resources like gold and food to protect them from the enemy while you mine them, but the walls cost gold, and they won't hold off large forces, especially long range units like catapults.
Starcraft 2 macro - you build workers that auto-mine minerals for a pretty long time until they run out, then you put them somewhere else to mine more mineral (oooh and gas!)... yeah, not too in depth. The only questions are: Can I get an expansion and not immediately die?( The answer seems to be no followed by a hearty laugh. ) and "When should I take an expansion?" to which, there is no real definitive answer.
It would be nice if expanding didn't gimp your army early on. When the other person scouts it or just chooses to attack, his army will be 400 minerals stronger than yours, so you'll likely die or get contained. (Die if it's a 4gate or 5rax marauder)
Actually.. quite a few ppl have figured out when to expand the first time, and it's almost always very early. They also know how to hold off attacks with cannons, bunkers, and spinecrawlers to defend the early expand. All 3 races have a pretty safe early expand route, the question is really when to take the 2nd expansion.
I'm thinking of picking up worms reloaded on steam. Its $20, but $15 per person if 4 people go in on it. Let me know if you are interested. You'll have to send me a payment via paypal as one person has to buy all 4 copies to get the bundle. Worms is a silly ass game, but pretty light hearted and fun.
PM me your paypal info, I was wanting to get Worms... and the name of your SC2 account if you're looking for a Toss player to team up with once in a while. It will take me a while to get back in form but I was pretty good at SC back in the day.
Please, nobody post any Dumb and Dumber references the Worms comment.
heh... we'll, I'm not buying until I get a total of 4 people. So, we need 2 more. If we get that, I'll order - possibly as soon as tonight, but we see how quick peeps get back.
Teseer - I'll def try out savage 2 with you though. Its installed and I'm looking forward to giving it a go.
Worms was definitely a sweet game.. I really just enjoyed playing it at lans tho.
dito - that's where I've played the previous versions - fun lan parties!
Yeah, RoL is so anti-turtle
Psh Thundercles got SC2. Lame. I guess I can't play DoW with you though, so I guess that makes sense. You haven't been logging onto Steam though either. Have you been screwing around with Free-for-All or are you devoted to the devil now?
In other news, I might get stable and game-worthy internet around the 23rd of September. That said, I will be playing Civ V. (currently mostly just modding Elemental when I have the time, and beating FF XIII while I don't have internet).
In a month or so afterwards I might be open for someone to convince me to play SC2, or, preferably, go back to DoW.
Like 4nana said Synn, you kind of have to expand, then turtle a bit to survive the inevitable push that will come when people see your expansion. I'd still be hesitant to expand as T against Zerg because they could just double expand and since you spent your minerals on static D there's nothing you could really do about it
Hedgie: Actually I've been playing Build A Retaining Wall IV and the expansion pack for Yard War: Sprinklers Systems.
I'll get back to DoW if you're going to have internet again in the near future... I've been waiting for the next patch to go live before finishing my hotkeys and I wanted to play a few more Demigod games before it completely died out. I'm picking up SC2 for the single player alone and was just seeing if I could play with anyone from the good old days if I got sucked into multiplayer. My old buddy I used to play the original SC still has his old computer from the days back when we played the original, so that probably won't work out.
still need 2 more for worms reloaded... any takers? I'm reaching out to some of my other buds now.
Thunder, I'll raise you, I might be playing similar genres.
Wire A New House II: A Bigger One
Digging Holes 5000: Dig Deeper
8D
Foundation is poured this coming Friday. Framing starts next Monday. But luckily I won't have as much of a role this time as my previous houses. Huzzah~
On the other hand, my ranking for DoW will probably reset once I get back (60 days). Which is good and bad, I guess. Another patch might come out before I start really playing again. Like I said, I plan on playing Civ V for a good time, and getting my dad addicted to it
dude rise of legends was the best game ever. I was so good at that game...
