EA Sports have locked the multiplayer portions of their titles to new purchases only. If you've bought the game used, assuming the person who pre-owned the game played multiplayer, you'll need to spend US$10.00 to buy a new code to play multiplayer.EA previously provided free release day DLC to new owners as a type of incentive to purchase the game, such as with Bioware's latest releases Mass Effect 2 and Dragon Age: Origins. Now, they're punishing everyone who purchases their game second hand by stripping away features. They really, really don't like the second hand games market.I wonder how long it is before this type of lock-out is placed on the single player portion as well. Steam-like one time activation, locking the game to your Account, requiring everyone with a console be connected to the internet?
Sounds like some seriously, Seriously, Crappy business practices from EA. Then again...that's not new. It's like they're saying "Oh would you like to buy this Used game? Here, please bend over while I insert this Sandpaper up your @^%!!! Thank you for your purchase!!!"...
I think you are just covering for them. If they don't want everyone on their servers, stop forcing everyone to use their servers. It's that simple. You don't get to claim its too expensive and not fair to offer these services when you force your games to use them when it is not necessary. They can offload all they want by offering dedicated servers, third party matchmaking services or directip. Otherwise, it's just lame excuses.
No he is right, they have the legal abilty to do what they are doing. None thought they would though. But its like darwin said, except for those who rent games, this only effects those people who want to spend $5 less on a used game instead of a new one

But won't this also lead to piracy such as getting the codes offling like how some people get serial keys or will it not work. I think it would be hard to run checks for everygame for console.
I never said he was wrong. Legally alot of people and a lot of businesses can do a lot of things; that doesn't mean they should.
