This thread has been created for the purpose of tracking results in the April/May 2010 2v2 Demigod Community Tournament.
Current status: WINNER! - King_Of_Thorns + Zen_God
Round 1a began at 5PM on 4/21/2010 and ended at 11:59PM EST on 4/30/2010.
Round 1b began at Midnight on 5/1/2010 and ended at 11:59PM EST on 5/7/2010.
Round 2 began at Midnight on 5/8/2010 and ended at 11:59PM EST on 5/23/2010.
Round 3 (SEMIFINALS) began at Midnight on 5/24/2010 and will end at 11:59PM EST on 5/30/2010.
Round 4 (FINALS) began Midnight on 5/31/2010 and will end at 11:59PM EST on 6/5/2010
Players responsible for hosting and scheduling their own matches. Then, the winning team must provide a replay and a link to the pantheon stats here for tracking purposes, for every game played. Please feel free to use this thread get your matches scheduled.
There will be a need to disqualify teams that aren't making the required effort to get their games in without penalizing another team that's doing whatever they can to get a match scheduled. It's probably best if teams that are trying to organize matches go on record in the forums. For instance, if I was playing against say AtMa and Ba, I'd post something like the following in this thread:
Atma + Ba: trouser and pacov are generally available M-F from 5pm EST - 1AM EST. Please let us know if some time in that slot would work for you or recommend a time slot that works. I'll PM you in a few days if I haven't heard from you or we can discuss this on lagwars vent.
Something like that. If it comes down to disqualifying teams because they didn't get their match in, the more info and tracking you have indicating that you did your best to get the match scheduled the better.

Tournament Rules:
How will we handle crashes:
If there is a game crash, the players involved in that match should see if they can come to a consensus on the probable outcome of the match. If there is no clear winner, the 2 teams should replay the match using the exact same demigods and sides (light/dark). If there was a clear winner at that point in the game, then that team should be awarded the win. If the 2 teams disagree on the outcome, a third party will review the replay of the match and render a decision. Be aware that the 3rd party must agree that a specific team was going to win or the results will be thrown out and the match redone.
How we will handle invalid game states:
The lastgamereplay file is still created in the event of an invalid game state, so it is still possible to review the results of a match. In the event of an invalid game state, players should attempt to resolve the issue exactly the same way as game crashes. If you believe foul play occurred, submit the replay along with any screen shots, etc, as evidence and we will review. If there is a CLEAR consensus that a team is willingly triggering invalid game states, that team should be disqualified after a thorough review of the facts. Please be reasonable, though. We all know that Demigod has its bugs and its still pretty easy to encounter an invalid game state even if no one has intentionally triggered it. If your game does crash, it might be advisable to take a screen shot of the crash as proof. Be aware that we know invalid game states can occur without any sort of foul play, so please be mindful when submitting requests for review.
Prizes:
Outside of prestige in our small community, there is also a cash prize thanks to community contributions. The total (and probably final) amount paid for this tournament is $200. If you would like to contribute to the pot, please pm me and I'll get you the needed info to send me a payment. If individuals do not come through on their pledges, I will not be personally covering the difference. My goal is to collect the pledged amount before the tournament starts and I will be providing updates as I receive the pledged money.

Haha, funny enough I was tried HoN for the past two days.
Day 1: Holy! This is awesome, lots of stuff, runs well and more!
Day 2: Hmm, this is kinda fickle, not real skill trees, no great diversity. See what one hero does, seen all he can do.
It's day 3 now, and I can't bring myself to play it...
I keep comparing it to demigod, and demigod proves for me that Quality > Quantity. Also what is up with the 2 v 2 map? Are the designers high? The map is just as big as the 3 v 3 map. Lots of design choices that put me right off.
Sounds good. I might not be able to make it tonight though, but I certainly look you guys up if I do make it on and trouser is free. Otherwise hopefully we can get some fun games in soon.

Wow are you serious dude? You're bashing a game for "no great diversity" and defending Demigod. Let's see: buy Vlemish, Unbreakable boots, plenor, nimoth's, and narmoth's as well as spam tp's, locks, and sigils every single game on every single demigod on every single map. This is diversity to you? As if there was any way to play UB other than spit/ooze and 1 level of grasp, and stacking the shit out of hp.

At least I can have different builds with my skill tree, rather then just leaving skills out. I have 3 UB builds, and he is the least diverse character in the game.
Also, when the hell is my match.
since we're randomly bashing people.... yes, there is more than one way to succesfully play UB. As much as Cow is given shit for using it, pure ooze beast can be very good (although it's not YOUR build Cow ). I rarely ever get narmoth ring and do just fine. On a few chars, I will never buy 2 helms. I just played a high level game where NO ONE got botf. Sometimes speed IS the answer. I'd keep going to say how dumb your post was, but it's not really worth more than a few sentences.
hehe. For the crap we give him, it is a viable build. I'd argue not against certain dgs, but it certainly has its place.

Anyway as for the tournament, for teams 11&12, we might actually need past midnight of the 30th, maybe either saturday or sunday to finish our game due to time and scheduling complications, since McGreg lives 6 hours ahead of the rest of us, and seems like all of us have either work or other things that take up time
We can't do either tomorrow or thursday and we'll try for friday but might not get it then.
NeVeR-FuCkWiT-aRoOk we cannot play wed night. Thursday night around 10pm EST and later is fine. Friday after 8pm EST. Thursday is my preference.

Hey guys, as you know there has been some international timing complications with maccilla, johngalt, Aborn and myself. But we've worked it out, We're can do it on Monday at 6pm EST i.e. 11pm GMT (so I can still have my beauty sleep ). Would pacov tolerate a one day extension?
I apologise for this, we've tried hard to get this sorted out earlier but this is the best we could manage.
