This thread has been created for the purpose of tracking results in the April/May 2010 2v2 Demigod Community Tournament.
Current status: WINNER! - King_Of_Thorns + Zen_God
Round 1a began at 5PM on 4/21/2010 and ended at 11:59PM EST on 4/30/2010.
Round 1b began at Midnight on 5/1/2010 and ended at 11:59PM EST on 5/7/2010.
Round 2 began at Midnight on 5/8/2010 and ended at 11:59PM EST on 5/23/2010.
Round 3 (SEMIFINALS) began at Midnight on 5/24/2010 and will end at 11:59PM EST on 5/30/2010.
Round 4 (FINALS) began Midnight on 5/31/2010 and will end at 11:59PM EST on 6/5/2010
Players responsible for hosting and scheduling their own matches. Then, the winning team must provide a replay and a link to the pantheon stats here for tracking purposes, for every game played. Please feel free to use this thread get your matches scheduled.
There will be a need to disqualify teams that aren't making the required effort to get their games in without penalizing another team that's doing whatever they can to get a match scheduled. It's probably best if teams that are trying to organize matches go on record in the forums. For instance, if I was playing against say AtMa and Ba, I'd post something like the following in this thread:
Atma + Ba: trouser and pacov are generally available M-F from 5pm EST - 1AM EST. Please let us know if some time in that slot would work for you or recommend a time slot that works. I'll PM you in a few days if I haven't heard from you or we can discuss this on lagwars vent.
Something like that. If it comes down to disqualifying teams because they didn't get their match in, the more info and tracking you have indicating that you did your best to get the match scheduled the better.

Tournament Rules:
How will we handle crashes:
If there is a game crash, the players involved in that match should see if they can come to a consensus on the probable outcome of the match. If there is no clear winner, the 2 teams should replay the match using the exact same demigods and sides (light/dark). If there was a clear winner at that point in the game, then that team should be awarded the win. If the 2 teams disagree on the outcome, a third party will review the replay of the match and render a decision. Be aware that the 3rd party must agree that a specific team was going to win or the results will be thrown out and the match redone.
How we will handle invalid game states:
The lastgamereplay file is still created in the event of an invalid game state, so it is still possible to review the results of a match. In the event of an invalid game state, players should attempt to resolve the issue exactly the same way as game crashes. If you believe foul play occurred, submit the replay along with any screen shots, etc, as evidence and we will review. If there is a CLEAR consensus that a team is willingly triggering invalid game states, that team should be disqualified after a thorough review of the facts. Please be reasonable, though. We all know that Demigod has its bugs and its still pretty easy to encounter an invalid game state even if no one has intentionally triggered it. If your game does crash, it might be advisable to take a screen shot of the crash as proof. Be aware that we know invalid game states can occur without any sort of foul play, so please be mindful when submitting requests for review.
Prizes:
Outside of prestige in our small community, there is also a cash prize thanks to community contributions. The total (and probably final) amount paid for this tournament is $200. If you would like to contribute to the pot, please pm me and I'll get you the needed info to send me a payment. If individuals do not come through on their pledges, I will not be personally covering the difference. My goal is to collect the pledged amount before the tournament starts and I will be providing updates as I receive the pledged money.

me and rawrrrr were on all night. Trouser was available but Kalel's whereabouts are unknown. Hopefully we'll get our game in tomorrow - but I'm not sure that I'll have time. I'll check in and see if you fellas are available at some point tomorrow. Looking like this might drag to sunday, though.

Ok - the op is updated. The Semi-finals have officially begun. Each of the remaining 4 teams have until 11:59PM EST on 5/30/2010 to get their game in... and then its finals time! Pacov has the winning teams' money ready to distribute. Best of luck to everyone still in hanging in there.
Ok - onto a little tourney feedback. And I'll start by saying I'm glad me/trouser and rawrrrr/kal got our game in. They played better than us and won. No problem. No gripe. Congrats on the win. I wish everyone that registered for the tourney actually played in the tourney.
That said, here's my feedback. WTF!!! Because its a community tournament, I did a few things that I didn't think were logical or fair. 1 - because it a community tourney, I, even though I am pretty well running things and keeping us moving as best as possible, couldn't make executive decisions. For instance, the whole haxthias thing... he was a guy that admitted to being noobish, but wanted to play for fun. He got randomly teamed up with achilles. Achillies didn't want him as a teammate (even though achillies had the same option as all of the free agents to get a partner on their own). Achillies makes it clear he wants to drop hax so he might have a chance in the tourney (granted, he didn't with hax), and a few folks in the community decide screw it... drop hax. So, hax gets dropped. Granted, I probably could have stood some ground there, but I was already accused by the community of stacking our randomly generated brackets... so I was on the defensive. Imo hax should have been allowed to play based on our rules... anyway, moving on quickly - disqualifications... WTF again. We decided to try to have rounds last 1 week. Wepacov granted extensions out the ass. We disqualified 1 team when it took them "too long" but then were insanely patient with other teams. NOT FAIR. The rawrrr/kale extension is the best example... our match was like a week overdue. That's ridiculous. I'm actually cool with the delay because rawrrr had some issues outside of his control, but seriously... we could have dragged the matchup of rawwr/kalel v pacov/trouser out at least another week (read: 3 weeks+ for 1 match). We need clearly defined rules. I personally think we should pick like 2 weeks per round and make a very hard and fast FU rule if you don't get your match in. While I'm willing to wait for someone as a courtesy, its really not fair.
Anyway, my 2 cents is that the next tourney should be run by an individual who will make the calls as they see fit. I'd probably be willing to do this 1 more time, but seriously - we will agree on all the rules before it starts and I will dogmatically enforce them.
