This thread has been created for the purpose of tracking results in the April/May 2010 2v2 Demigod Community Tournament.

Round 1a began at 5PM on 4/21/2010 and ended at 11:59PM EST on 4/30/2010.
Round 1b began at Midnight on 5/1/2010 and ended at 11:59PM EST on 5/7/2010.
Round 2 began at Midnight on 5/8/2010 and ended at 11:59PM EST on 5/23/2010.
Round 3 (SEMIFINALS) began at Midnight on 5/24/2010 and will end at 11:59PM EST on 5/30/2010.
Round 4 (FINALS) began Midnight on 5/31/2010 and will end at 11:59PM EST on 6/5/2010
Players responsible for hosting and scheduling their own matches. Then, the winning team must provide a replay and a link to the pantheon stats here for tracking purposes, for every game played. Please feel free to use this thread get your matches scheduled.
There will be a need to disqualify teams that aren't making the required effort to get their games in without penalizing another team that's doing whatever they can to get a match scheduled. It's probably best if teams that are trying to organize matches go on record in the forums. For instance, if I was playing against say AtMa and Ba, I'd post something like the following in this thread:
Atma + Ba: trouser and pacov are generally available M-F from 5pm EST - 1AM EST. Please let us know if some time in that slot would work for you or recommend a time slot that works. I'll PM you in a few days if I haven't heard from you or we can discuss this on lagwars vent.
Something like that. If it comes down to disqualifying teams because they didn't get their match in, the more info and tracking you have indicating that you did your best to get the match scheduled the better.

Tournament Rules:
How will we handle crashes:
If there is a game crash, the players involved in that match should see if they can come to a consensus on the probable outcome of the match. If there is no clear winner, the 2 teams should replay the match using the exact same demigods and sides (light/dark). If there was a clear winner at that point in the game, then that team should be awarded the win. If the 2 teams disagree on the outcome, a third party will review the replay of the match and render a decision. Be aware that the 3rd party must agree that a specific team was going to win or the results will be thrown out and the match redone.
How we will handle invalid game states:
The lastgamereplay file is still created in the event of an invalid game state, so it is still possible to review the results of a match. In the event of an invalid game state, players should attempt to resolve the issue exactly the same way as game crashes. If you believe foul play occurred, submit the replay along with any screen shots, etc, as evidence and we will review. If there is a CLEAR consensus that a team is willingly triggering invalid game states, that team should be disqualified after a thorough review of the facts. Please be reasonable, though. We all know that Demigod has its bugs and its still pretty easy to encounter an invalid game state even if no one has intentionally triggered it. If your game does crash, it might be advisable to take a screen shot of the crash as proof. Be aware that we know invalid game states can occur without any sort of foul play, so please be mindful when submitting requests for review.
Prizes:
Outside of prestige in our small community, there is also a cash prize thanks to community contributions. The total (and probably final) amount paid for this tournament is $200. If you would like to contribute to the pot, please pm me and I'll get you the needed info to send me a payment. If individuals do not come through on their pledges, I will not be personally covering the difference. My goal is to collect the pledged amount before the tournament starts and I will be providing updates as I receive the pledged money.

We had them down to 1400 health on their citadel, first game, and they came back. All i can say is, someone needs to work on their portal play COUGH, and silence plus frost nova is the gayest thing since Liberace.
second game we could have also won, we had cats when they had nothing, and we had a 1500-2k war score advantage, but someone didn't have a lock and they took their portal back, OOPS
overall decent play on everyones part, but for anyone playing further in the tournament work on ur portal play most people are terrible at it, hedgie and thunder AREN'T, also make sure you don't let them get above lvl 13 ish, cause once they have max silence and frost nova, they can keep u useless for way, way too long. If you dont win the game before that you're toast.
Hedgie and Thunder won both games. We couldn't beat their combo with the combo we'd been practicing (fire TB and OC). Late game sedna and mixed builld TB was too powerful. They had a total of four interupts.
We almost won the first game. We took the citadel down to 1400hp. Second game likewise, we had the power to push their portal etc... early - mid game. We were leading on kills. We got giants before them. But we simply couldn't win once they had all their interupts.
Their DG combo was a perfect counter to fire TB and Oculus. In my modest opinion this has more to do with the combo they've been practising than anything else. But that's just my opinion. It looks like now this is the overpowered combination in the DG choices that, ahem...Hedgie came up with himself. Not that I'm implying anything. But anyway, we should consider this for future tournaments. I won't agree to the same dg choices for future tournaments.

tb / sedna loses to other combinations. They almost lost to you the first game as well
It is too powerful late game. That's the flaw in the current tournament rules we have. The only way to win against this combo is to beat them by war rank 8 (unless they make a number of mistakes allowing us to win at war rank 10; on paper that shouldn't be possible).
The portal play of this combination is too overpowered against the current other demigod choices available in that this is the only team that can have two demigods with interrupts.

if they dont let you get any portals, and hold you off until they get permastun, they can win. They didn't do very well in locking portals or stopping locks, we managed to keep our portal the second game for 10 min, continually locking it, when they have FOUR interrupts, this is a clear problem on their part, they only need 2 stuns to keep us from locking it, they have 2 extra, and still couldn't stop us for way too long. If they paid closer attention to that you'll never be able to lock a flag. and that's devastational late game.
The extenstion to our deadline 1b match is ending, and Prozombe and Passfail (Hasn't been on in ages) aren't even on, I might have to start declaring ourselves the winner due to fear of showing up and facing me and Zen.
Ooze Beast and Rook both demolish my Silence build. Can't Silence someone with no abilities and Rook destroys Sedna game in and game out.
Regarding me stacking the demigod choices, with the original rules (<anyone> + TB/Reg/DA we would have done the exact same combination) we would have done exactly the same thing. You probably would as well.
Silence + Frost Nova has counters: Ooze Beast. Oak. Another Sedna. Occulus can counter it too with Brain Storm. It's only "gay" when you level up Mag. Presence and can do it every 9 seconds, effectively shutting someone down for 7-8 seconds (Silence and Nova overlap) every 9-10 seconds. Throw in a Deep Freeze for more anti-abilities.
Warscore doesn't matter in 2v2. You rarely can get units before level 9 if you have a decent kit. That game Thunder gave up a few kills which let you chain-lock without having a weak kit. We got Giants one (maybe two) waves after you and Catapults maybe 2-3 minutes afterward. TB means that units aren't an instant-win.

Speaking realistically, Orcun + Shane will probably knock us out. They have played our Sed-TB ... about five times? Probably more. Anyway, they know exactly what we are doing and both of them have excellent portal play. Plus, RAWR, KALEL, pacov and Trouser all know my builds in and out as well.
Oak + DA? UB + TB?
Also note, remember that game you won against Jon and Maccila? Exile spent about 5 minutes trash-talking how Occulus + TB was the strongest demigod selection. Now you lose and it's cause Sedna is overpowered against Occulus?
TB has to be in the proper form, so he only has an interupt half the time and he suffers a cooldown when he switches forms. Both Frost Nova AND Silence don't actually interupt, they simply preventing you from finishing your cast. If have an equal amount of demigods on the flag and can stall you can lock after the debuffs wear off.
Pounce doesn't work if you're on the wrong side of the flag (as what happened a few times when TB would come back for a lock, I would see him coming back I just didn't care enough to stop him). Sometimes Thunder and I would double-interrupt someone casting a lock. Sometimes we care more about getting a kill than getting a portal. Yep. I said it.
Yes, we banked too much on our practised combo and paid the price for it. GG guys.

portals are usually more important that kills, especially when you have giants, its pretty much a win right there, also u can kill someone AND stop them from locking, but if u had to choose, id choose stopping the lock, unless you don't want to win, then go for the kill.

anyone - am I following this right? You need an extra week to potentially get your game in... this will push the game after you back 1 more week... am I missing something? Not entirely sure I want to throw a round off by a full week...
KALEL/RAWRRRR - When are you free for our game? I think Thursday or Friday between 7PM-Midnight would work best for me. I'll check if that is good with trouser. Sometime in that window work for you guys?
-edit - does anyone else have some feedback on the passfail/prozombe 1 week extension to maybe get their game in? Should I disqualify or let them push things out another week. I want to be fair, but I haven't seen alot of effort on pass/pro to get their match scheduled.

I'm thinking disqualifications will happen by tomorrow at midnight. At this point, I'm looking to disqualify passfail/prozombe and jona/tacoguy. I'd rather not disqualify anyone and have you guys actually play in the matches you committed to. I understand scheduling can be difficult due to timezones, etc, and I'm trying to be flexible. If you really want to participate, now would be a very good time to not only speak up, but let us know how soon you are playing your match.
I'd rather wait for everyone to get the games in. The last 2 rounds will take next to no time to schedule as everyone who advances is likely to be in the group of people who play nearly every day anyway.
I don't think it's entirely fair for one team who actually put in the effort to make all their matches happen, to have a plethora of replays that their competitors can use against them while the lazy teams who don't bother to schedule now have the advantage of no one seeing their play style/strats.
I had both csonti and smokingbalrog in my in-game friends list within an hour of you posting the brackets. We had a 9 hour time difference and I work 7 days a week and we still managed to play our game a week ahead of schedule. I'd like to see more people put the effort in.
