I bought Dirt2 during the spring sale at Direct2Drive and cannot get it to download no matter what I do.I've tried the download manager which will rocket to 1.5mb per sec then slowly drop to 0.If it does keep going it will not last for more than a couple minutes.I've tried Firefox. I've tried FreeDownloadManager. I've had firewalls and virus scans turned off. Full port access open to the D2D DLM. Pop-up blockers all turned off, there's far more than enough hard drive space, etc. Nothing works. It has taken me 3 days of constant retries to get a whoppin' 3 gig of 10 downloaded. This whole scenario isn't uncommon for me and downloading games purchased from D2D. I seriously need to quit buying from them. (Just couldn't pass up the spring sale price on Dirt2 - $10). Is anyone else having such issues with D2D?No problems with Steam, Impulse, or GamersGate (other than GamersGate is extremely slow). Just recently purchased Mass Effect 2 from Impulse while it was on sale and not a single download issue. Why can't I download my purchases from D2D?Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
I can't help you, I'm afraid, because my best advice is: Don't use D2D. They are far and away your worst possible option for digital purchases. Sorry to here about your issues though. I know some ISPs will limit your bandwidth if you start using a lot, and if you use Telus, their 2Wire modem/router "mistakenly" treat heavy bandwidth traffic as DDoS attacks and restarts.... It's possible you are running into a similar problem, but I really don't know. Good luck!
We have seen a few users where their router was doing this with their Impulse downloads because it was somewhat faulty. Perhaps try temporarily running the PC directly to the modem to see if that helps.
