Hello,
I just got my new, sweet Netbook today and was very angry that I can not change the wallpaper.
My question now is whether I can change the wallpaper using WindowBlinds WITHOUT changing the look and feel of windows and all other applications. I'd like to keep the original theme, since I like it and don't want it changed.
If this is possible, the USD 20,00 are worth it.
Kind regards,
Daniel
There is a way to do this. On the eeeuser forum look for this thread: http://forum.eeeuser.com/viewtopic.php?id=83826
I tried both methods and they both work. The one with the system changer is best but it may be machine specific. I have an asus netbook. My wallpaper cycles. The only problem I have is that Fences overwrites the wallpaper so I can't use it. And when I tried windowblinds it totally crashed my machine.
Great!
Thanks for your very useful reply. I first tried the Asus tool, but it won't work on non-Eee-PCs (and I own a Samsung netbook).
The french tool works nicely. They have rewritten the original "personalize" pages (with sometimes funny translations) of Windows and let you change your background, besides other personalizations.
I'll definitely donate 5 bucks to the author when the tool is stable and I won't run into any other problems.
Again, thanks for your help.
I have been using WallpaperMaster for years and it works beautifully.

You're welcome! Glad the french tool worked for you. For me, the ASUS utility worked even better, but then my netbook is an eeepc.
When I tried windowblinds on it (the first day I had it, since I had planned all along on the wallpaper change possibility) I was very disappointed when it proved unstable - at least, after I installed it I could no longer boot into windows and had to restore to the previous (just out of the box) configuration. Disappointing...
I have that and its a good one.
I also use Multishow.
