Cowbuttzex and and Xynth railed against a friend of mine last night and in my experience she is just as good a teammate as either of them. She pointed out that they both commented on her poor purchase of the Journeyman Treads.
She also pointed out that they had hitpoints in the 8 and 9k's without sigils. I am willing to believe that I have never gotten a DG to those unsigiled hp levels in a pvp game. So...to the question, what do you buy after giants? And please explain why.
Grosse Pointe Blank? Where he wants him to join the hitman union maybe?
I havnt seen it, but who knows, maybe I hear it on a commercial. I have no idea.
JT can be justified as oak imo if you are already pushing the other team in 1v1 situations but having issues making the final kill. Alot of time u can push further into their base as well b/c you can get out as the proc will most likely be active making escape more realistic. Personally, they are way overpriced in my opinion. That gold would be better spent to upgraded giants or making sure you have bishops/top tier mins as well if you use them. But like I said, if you are pushing the other team 1v1, JT should give u a few surprise kills when they can't run from you. Oak is really the only one that I have ever used them on.
I was in this game against Cow and Aloullette and few things didn't go their way for the following reasons:
1) Cur2 vs Cur1 (as the game progressed to giants, they clearly didn't have the money to support the upgrades)
2) 2 kills vs 7 kills when the giants rolled in (again didn't have enough money to do any upgrades)
3) When an oak has 0 kill in the late game, you can't justify purchasing a Jboot. Note that, Jboot is one of my fav item and it not only gives you the speed but also HP (great for HP stackinig)
4) Cow's team did have a good control of the flag and did capture our portal at one point, but they didn't have the creeps to support it. We were just hitting Cow (UB) first and his mates didn't do much to support him.
I think the game would have been different if the money was spent on the citadel instead of the jboot. When I play ere/oak, i usually go with narmoth, 2helms, unbrk boots, wand of speed, then sell everything except the 2helms to support the cita near the end.
Balls. I agree with Shred_Demon.
+1 Karma.
The End.
sorry that i said you sucked alloutte. i didn't say because you had j-treads. just that cow is a DG friend, and i was backing him up for the heck of it.
just don't take the squabbling into all-chat unless you want someone from the other team to comment. and, sorry, but it was in your power to win that game. It was a damn close game. if you had sheild locked our left port, we would have been done.
i had actually accepted that loss, but my team mates kept me in it. funny because i'm the one usually telling people to stay positive, it wins games. we crawled back from having a half destroyed cit and 2 war ranks behind. my comment was uncalled for. truly sorry.
You do need thick skin to play the game online and not take hurtful comments too seriously, just ignore people if they are being abusive, works for me. Again so you're better than me at a computer game, so what?
Hey Pat, just to clear up something. Alouette didn't ask me to whine here...I did it on my own. I convinced her to start playing DG and I had suggested the boots. I appreciate Xynth apologizing for the comments so I think that beef is eaten.
I think now I want to figure something out. Okay so we agree or disagree on the boots, and most people think it's good to get at least most of the creep upgrades after giants.
One person said hungarlings...one person said they sold all of their stuff. But I think there are more strategic methods/purchases out there. C'mon guys this is why we have a forum.
I actually get annoyed when the more powerful characters put too much money into the citadel after giants are bought. Especially Oak and Beast, I'd prefer them saving for better items as kills get harder to come by at the higher levels and if you're not able to finish the other demigods it's not going to matter much how powerful your creeps are.
I like Journeymans with Oak but unless it's to the point where pentinence and surge of faith aren't enough for you to easily catch the other DGs anymore, (for example if you're fighting a speedy sedna, TB, or Beast) then I would skip the Journeymans and keep saving until I can get cloak of flames. Attack speed starts to win out over just health at the furthest points of the game and if you've got spirits and soul power with Oak by the time you can afford the cloak he becomes devastating.
Awesome! I wish i could get my wife to play lol.
Thats a very good reason to get journeymans, try wand of speed sometime as well. Wand gives you a higer speed boost albeit short lives (unless j-boots are proc'd), is a lot cheaper than j-treads and for essentially the same amount of gold allows you to swap your vlemish with hungarlings (or upgrade to groffling) and grab locks and port scrolls.
I play oak almost exclusively as well. I can't tell you how many shields i've missed lol. Each time certainly ends up with me getting yelled at lol.
My favorite is when someone is at 30%+ health and no longer being targeted and is hollering for a shield lol.
Anyways, Mcshance has a good point as well, attack speed helps tremendously! (especially with narmoths or other life steal)
j
I disagree with you mcshane I think j-treads on oak can be very useful even if the other teams doesn't stack speed if the other team is well coordinated and you have a hard time getting a portal because once you get j-treads you can push for the portals alot faster. Also once you get a port you can tp in, shield, lock and run away like a mofo and there are few things the ennemy team can do about that
I'm not saying that I don't like journeymans, I have gotten them several times with Oak. But if you have cloak of flames, you can port in, use shield to avoid damage, kill the other team, have one of your teammates lock the portal, then casually walk away lol.
just asking here, but in regard to the cloak of flames, is the 5% more attack speed worth giving up an xtra 2000 gold and the life steal found in the mage slayer?
I think so, because it's also a +1000 mana and 25 mana per second. And an 800 damage area attack.
^I hate it when you spend money on cloak, it usually means we'll lose.
I also love how Mith disagreed with you. I hope more of that will come.
I'm a noob for not buying a mana helm on a DA build according to mchshane87.
fact is i am damn sure i have beaten many of his clan mates with that DA build.
It's not what you buy. its how you use it.
Prove that's ever happened even once and I'll apologize. You ruined 2 straight games with your manaless DA and I just didn't want it to happen again. I don't remember ever losing to you so that was just the last straw. Also your poor attitude when you were blaming Naur for the loss, after you finished the game 0-7 didn't help.
Any character without mana is pretty much pointless, not just a DA.
