I started playing Demigod recently, but im frustrated playing again Oculus. I can just hack away at him with almost any DG and he doesn't die. Does he have a specific weakness i can use to my advantage in game?
thank you
TB and hybrid UB are both scary to me when I play Occ. They do so much damage I have to find unique ways to damage them without getting in range of fireball / spit, and I usually fail The only saving factor is that tb only beats you in nuke @ lvl 4, so until then you're g2g >.> And UB runs out of mana pretty fast early on too, so hooray.
TB has a self targeting cooldown mana bonus spell that when combined with magnus rod allows him to burst high damage AoE skills for a gain?
Fireball is laughable... stop trying to avoid it, factor it in. Eat it, and then harm the squishy. Think of TB as a ratio of dmg output to dmg input. Output might be high, by your input is proportionally higher. Something is seriosuly wrong with this skill considering you can't get it off at max range against a closing melee demigod if he interrupts you.
If it had a little more range as the skill level went higher then it would be a serious threat, but it doesn't, so it's not.
Hey man, go ahead and disregard Fireball. Sa'll good.
That's right... fireball is laughable... the highest fucking instant damage ability in the game... laughable. Then he does some aoe and if I'm playing occ, I'm down to half life now. But I mean, half life was fun and portal was humorous, so I suppose it was "laughable". I mean, I suppose I could fight back, but he's usually on an enemy flag, and my burst is less than his burst, and his hp is more than mine :/ Now if it's not a health AND speed stacking tb, then hooray I'll kill. Otherwise, diaf.
no one has figured out a way to use magus and bots to increase tbs spell compacity.
I've seen like 4 TBs period that have ANY idea what they're doing.
umm.. let's not forget I was referring to a 1v1 situation. A fire TB can do 482 dps @ lvl 10 w/out damage items, and is 15% faster than Occ w/out speed items. Occ can do 372 dps. And who's going to go out of health faster or not be able to sustain his dps? The guy who needs multiple helms to play (Occulus).
But I mean, your team can do anything for you. so meh
You know, the more I play Occ the more I think what he brings (monks, blink, a modded purge with a 20 second cd) is underwhelming compared to what TB has (interrupt, stun, auras, BOTS) for essentially the same role and playstyle.
Don't get me wrong, he's a plenty fun, but to be really worthwhile I'd like to see something like L2-L3 Brainstorm giving 5 seconds of debuff immunity to target or similar, and either considerably higher native mana regen or less expensive abilities.
I think both new guys for some reason have much higher mana costs for their abilities.
Lvl 10 Fireball is 540 mana.
Lvl 10 Spine Attack is 1000 mana. 460 mana for 100 more dmg and a faster cast seems a bit steep to me.
It just seemed to me they went for much higher mana costs on the new dewds
Right, and they don't make up for it with higher health, speed, regen, or armor. It's like the devs are saying, "yah, these guys are fun, but you are gonna have to work about 40% harder to win with them."
Yeah, I was all crazy over DA till I realized the first game the stupid mana costs.
Occulus needs his minions, so if you can destroy his minions with one sweep then he ends up being pretty useless.
Is that what happened the game we played?
lol yes. That's why I shouldnt've been laning against you but neither could the QoT or the TB.
But that's not the easy counter. There's an even easier counter than that one.
Yes, like I said before. Fireball him till he's a burger.
well, occulus has higher costs w/e.. but.. his upside is that his AoE is much stronger. When you can chain demigods and a tower and barely get hit, that's nice. Also, when someone sits in between the 2 side towers and let's you chain off them, that's much stronger than what tb has to offer.
You'd have to do more than that if you're going with that strategy, because once he gets clerics those things would heal him off.
Anyway, even easier strategy, but I need to wait till this tournament is over and it certainly does not involve your beloved hideous TB.
eat pots in his face? Hold flags and level up?
Then it doesn't concern me, lol. I haven't really had any issues with teh Cow. Yeah, his nukes hurt, but mine hurt more, and my AoE (Chain lightning is kinda AoE, but still) doesnt require me to port TO him.
Plus, he has to be a LOT more careful with mana then I.
Hammer slam Rook. There, it's revealed.
Bullshit, I have gone toe to toe with Teseer's Tb with my queen before. He had a better chance of getting a full tower rook out the lane then me.
?
Oculus is ranged, he's just going to kite around him and chain lightning :/
Don't understand that one dude.
The counter is Ice TB (frost nova, deep freeze and rain of ice) and Sedna (Heal and Silence). Together they completely neutralise an enemy oculus. He can't cast skills now, and his autoattack is shit. Enemy Oculus dies. There, it is revealed.
Oculus' weakness is that he has no interrupts, no stuns, and he costs a lot of mana. His only great strength is his burst damage, which is pretty substantial. Early game he has to buy two helms, so he won't have as much health as everyone else, but he'll do a lot of damage if you don't recognize him as a threat, especially in 3v3 fights.
He only has high burst damage if he can get close to you to bounce. If he's only hitting you with chain lightning, all it does is tickle a Rook.
If you're a Rook, that is your dream come true.
