Not sure if this obvious thread has been created already - sorry if it has...
Anyway, just curious what SD thinks of Valves latest move!?
I am ofc referring to their decision to port STEAM as well as entire Valve catalogue to Mac platform...
If that wasn't enough already - apparently they are talking to all Steam publishers to consider Mac ports as well and are apparently quite certain fair few will do exactly that...
Now, how about Impulse for Mac!?!?
And of course Sins
Are you guys looking at Mac platform at all and what are your general thoughts on this latest Valve related news?
All the best!
Lol, I just read a Mac vs. PC site that was obviosly Pro Mac, just for fun.
They compared a 1996 Dell vs. a 2006 Mac book Pro. They concluded that the Mac was slightly better at about the same cost. If you buy a Mac, you will pay $2,800 for a computer with 2-3GB of RAM compared to a PC which won't cost more than $1,200 dollars for 4GB of RAM, not to mention they superior processor and graphics card you will most likely get. My laptop's specs ($850) can beat just about any Mac on the market unless you tricked it out beyond belief. Also, Mac has like, what? five percent of the market share? Why would any sensible developer take time to make a game/program that would cater to only 5% of computer users. (The real percentage of customers would actually be lower, because there are almost no gamers who use Macs)
But if you buy pc you turn into a dork... haven't you seen the commercials? That has to give the mac an extra 2000 in value right? If your buying a mac your just trying to hard to look cool and not looking for actual value.
They make you a fat old businessman with glasses who is out of touch with today's youth! The Mac ads are the most ridiculous ads on the air. Mac has suddenly decided to associate itself with a lifestyle and a political affiliation because it can't compete in a straightforward race with PC.
hah I was just talking to someone about that on FB. 'That guy must get smirked at a lot, since he has to pretend he's better than everyone else on national tv.'
Valve has recently posted closed Beta invitations for Mac Steam - so final release is getting rather close

Apples market share may be small now but I can guarantee it will grow. At least I hope so as I own their stock JK. Regardless of what SD does I will be a loyal fan if they keep putting out awesome titles like SoaSE and GalCiv 2. In other words their games will keep me in the PC buying/building business.
