I already looked into and tinkered with both of those thoroughly, no change in the rings. Looks like I'd have to alter the planetary entity files to get what I'm after, I had a feeling, but I didn't want to admit to it.
Thanks again Harpo
There is an error in the count of entity.manifest in the diplomacy 1.31 reference files. It says 1217 is the count but it should be 1218. I just spotted it while I was updating my various mods and was recalculating the count.

another reference file release for the diplomacy 1.32 patch
filefactory link to the reference files
Thanks for the speedy release once again Harpo!
1.32 doesn't seem to break mods... at least not that I have run into yet in my (admittedly short) tests this evening. It does look like they mofified gameplay.constants though at some point this patch. No apparent structure changes so it doesn't stop mods from loading but probably one that needs to be taken a look at and compared if used in a mod. The rest of the modified files seem relatively inconseqential in terms of modding.
Ok,so,to recap on what i need to do...
I only need to take the files and palce them into the mod and put only the changed ones into the mod for the game as it will only need to read that file for the game to modify the stats...
Am i correct?
Indeed, I think most mods will be fine if they don't modify the gameplay.constants file.
One quick thing,i downloaded the game info from the Dip 1.31,it doesnt have the capital ships on there..
Everything in my file is in Alphabetical Order, and after B's are no C's(Capital Ships)what should i do?(Dont feel like updating to 1.32 as of yet)
deathra, the caps are in the entrenchment 1.051 gameinfo files, and are NOT in the diplomacy 1.32 either.
So..i need to take them from the Entranchment files...why arnt they in the diplomacy ones?wouldnt it be easier?
I'm not dissing you or anything..i'm jsut curious
I love the response times on this forum btw harpo
the files that I upload ARE the game files converted to text mode, and as diplomacy has made no changes to the caps they(ironclad games) have not included them in the diplomacy expansion, and as the stacking sequence is
top modsecond mod.....................last moddiplomacy(if running)entrenchmentvanilla sins.
btw this stacking sequence is ONLY for entrenchment and diplomacy (and possibly rebellion but do not have any definite info either way)
for vanilla sins it is either enabled mod OR vanillla game (and the mod MUST include ALL of the entity files that are referenced.
Yup. Lucky me, 4 of my 5 mods do modify that file though
comparing the reference files from harpo:
the only files that were modified in 1.32 are:
AbilityPhaseModuleDeconstruction.entityAbilityPsiModuleDeconstruction.entityAbilityTechModuleDeconstruction.entity
AbilityWorthCause.entityBuffCulturalAssistancePlanet.entityBuffPhaseModuleDeconstructionTarget.entityBuffPsiModuleDeconstructionTarget.entityBuffTechModuleDeconstructionTarget.entityGameplay.constants"RESEARCHSUBJECT_PACTBONUS_MARKET.entityRESEARCHSUBJECT_PACTBONUS_SHIELD.entity
so if any mod working for 1.31 doesn't touch these it will need no change
in any other case one may easily implement the new modifiers and data using notepad++
tlesta
tlesta, those ARE the changes that I found also, but the changes from 1.21 to 1.3X even include the playerRACE.entitys that are in most if not all mods which is why the mods need to be manually updated to 1.3x.
totally agree
just uploaded the latest reference files for all three parts, ad I also found that there are two entities no longer referenced in diplomacy compareing 1.32 & 1.33 the two entities are
BuffSettlersBonus.entityAbilityDisruptionMatrix.entity,
from this I think that all mods could need an entity manifest update for diplomacy 1.33.
sorry about the delays for processing and uploading the updated files, but 4 hours processing and a 15 hour day do cause delays.
the latest are in the bottom set of links in the OP.
why are these files on such a crappy site and not available from Stardock directly? And the tools page should have a link to these files instead of letting us fight minidumps until we trudge through forum posts.
That's appreciation for ya, Harpo.
First post complaining about your upload.
Thanks.
I was not complaining about anything. I simply wondered why we must use such a cheesy download service to store them. Read the post.
Why are you complaining here? This is a repository of modder's reference files in absence of Iron/dock's support. You are clearly complaining about the fact that Iron/dock does not keep their ref files up-to-date.
Again, complain where it will get noticed. While your points are indeed valid, and appreciated by many modders and non-modders, they have been said at least a thousand times before. Repeating it again here is absolutely useless.
krdaxdrkrun, than you for the defence.
kosiam, I only upload to sites that I do NOT get major issues for uploading to (and do NOT COST ME) or stop access to all of the files of mine if files get too popular(ie over a few hundred accesses (eg dropbox).
very nice work on providing the files, thank you very much, minidumps averted. And sorry to complain about the site, I did indeed think it was a Stardock work.
kosiam, I have written a few utilities to help modders because I felt that I should contribute to the communuty for the game, and am not a modeler, but can make maps and program utilities, and one of the utilities is the sins text bin gui that uses the stardock/ironclad sourced convertdata's , and during the develompment of the utilities I found certain issues to do with version compatability and the NEED to have each version of the convertdata's not just the different expansion's but EACH patch's version as well, mostly for the mod updater.
Ironclad/Stardock have provided the Forge Tools, of which the Galaxy Forge, Particle Forge, convertXSI, the Developer.exe, and convert data tools are all kept up to date (the later two get from your Sins of a Solar Empire folder). The rest of the forge tools like the reference data has not been updated for a long time. The tutorials in them are still mostly accurate but some things have changed, so you're better of using modder created ones.
That said, they will be updating the galaxy forge and possibly particle forge for Rebellion, so they are still doing some things for the modding community.
Do you use these files to update Sins of a Solar Empire? You see, I got this game from a friend, and I have Diplomacy 1.32 installed.
Can I use these files to update it to 1.34 so that I can play online? If yes, how?
I would really appreciate it if anyone could answer this message.
