Hey, Im wondering if some of you would be interrested in a 2 vs 2 tournament. It would be played on either Crucible, Prison or Cataract tell me which one you think fits the best Another rule I think should be that only ONE tier 1 demigod is allowed in a team (erebus, oak, ub, rook). This will make people use the lesser played demigods aswell.
Another rule (Cowbuttzex's rule): The second demigod in your team will have to be either Reg, Tb or DA
You want to join but dont have a partner? Here is people to play with.

Blarg Hedgie what if I want a 2 and a 3? i.e. Oc and DA
Hmm maybe i should lock this one now that we got pacov's thread.
Pacov how do you lock threads like you did with your tier 1, tier 2 list?

would one of you guys that were wanting to change the DG selection rules please open a thread and keep the discussion going there? As long as we are mixing things up to some degree, I'm in favor of whatever you guys work out.
Why don't you just have people select from a number of choices of DG selections - so then you can avoid all that fuss about OP pairings. Right now, 4 DGs (Occulus, QoT, Rook, UB) are being shafted with the rules imposed.
So something like,
DA & TB & Reg have an open pass to pair with anyone.
Occulus & QoT
QoT & Sedna
Occulus & Erebus
Erebus & QoT
QoT & Rook
And some other ones. I don't actually know what the OP pairings are really.
Wait why the hell does QoT have rules imposed on her?
^No idea.
This is mutiny, all of you must pay!
Maybe we should give randomly created teams a handicap - like they get to choose whoever they want for round 1.
Hmm... I don't know about that. These teams should have some time to practice before the tourney and its not like all of the individuals are crap players... hmm... but only for round 1. I'm not really for that idea, personally... happy to hear some thoughts on it though.
I said they must have /at least/ 4 points. 2 + 3 == 5 > 4
which means it is okay.
KISS = Keep it simple stupid
-one da, reg, or TB per team
-no doubles
KISS in normal demigod means "Erebus, Oak, Beast".
I don't want to play against Erebus + TB and Oak + Reg every game, since those are the two best combinations that we are presented. In my opinion. This is far from rocket science.
Hedgie, I don't understand how Regulus and Oak are going to be a team. I'm not an expert, but in my experience playing Reg in the same lane as a TB is not compatible with living...
The way the rules on choosing teams are set up, I'm thinking every competitive matchup might just be Oak + TB or Erebus + TB...
Pentitence + Snipe allows you to dominate the HP flag for the majority of the game. Snipe can also harass a TB back home if it's a Staff of Renewel build with lots of mana. Erebus + Reg would be weird, but Oak + Reg makes sense. But I do agree, Erebus + TB would be the stronger combination, espiecially since TB can deal with an enemy Erebus better than a Reg.
imo DA is a soft counter to oak simply because you can swap him back even if he has a shield + TP ready.
its the only counter to that though... period. And I'm guessing most teams will have an oak under the current rules. And yet, I don't think anyone will pick da.
Swap him back into what? Your portal? If you're ally is there (to finish him off) that means you had 2 people in one corner of map for long enough for him to fight, fight, shield, teleport. And at least one of you probably had to port there. If that person was DA, now he is in the enemies base with no TP (and can threfore be ported on and killed). If that person was not the DA, then that means that the other enemy demigod has had a good 15 seconds to cap whatever he wants on the other side of the map. If the Oak who teleported away was focus firing on the DA he would not be in a fighting condition to then teleport to his friendly portal.
Or, if he was trapped there without a port, survive.
At best case, you trade loss of the map in exchange for one kill. Most likely, you exchange deaths and lose maybe one flag. Worst case, you get a death and lose a portal.
Best case - you get a kill.... PERIOD. And then the other things you said.
edit - best case... you kill but lose a flag... meh... best case you get a kill and poop flowers. But don't lose a flag.
If you do it fast enough you swap Oak before he goes anywhere and you don't go to the crystal either, it's just like an interrupt of the port.
That's a bug just like the Silence port interrupt. You can do it with Sedna too, I just don't because I consider it exploiting.
Wait a minute, you can silence an oak who is shielded before he can TP? If it keeps him where he is I'll gladly exploit that all day.
