Hey, Im wondering if some of you would be interrested in a 2 vs 2 tournament. It would be played on either Crucible, Prison or Cataract tell me which one you think fits the best Another rule I think should be that only ONE tier 1 demigod is allowed in a team (erebus, oak, ub, rook). This will make people use the lesser played demigods aswell.
Another rule (Cowbuttzex's rule): The second demigod in your team will have to be either Reg, Tb or DA
You want to join but dont have a partner? Here is people to play with.
- tacoguyV1
-Passfail
-brandon_varn
-prozombe
-xXxXxAchillesTGxXxXx
-Maxsteel32
-Zen_God
-synnworld
-SmokingBalrog
-awuffleablehedgie (maybe)
-Maccilia
FINISHED TEAMS

Are you interrested?
If so you can reply here and tell me your team.
Aww yeah we got ourselves a theme song!
Its so dirty in all the right ways.
I'm thinking of skipping this tournament. I really thought more people would be interested but we got 2-3 teams and we need 8.
spread the word to people in-game that there is a 2v2 tournament and tell them to come to forums to sign up
they barely got 8 teams a few months ago. But it was poorly done :/ A couple teams attempted to register and didnt get it.. it was postponed for weeks after the stated start.. blah blah blah
Poop.
Maybe if Stardock or Gaspowered games would actually sponcer a tournement for their game it would generate interest especially if they had some of there graphics guys make a nice shiny banner for the homepage advertising it. I mean whats 500 bucks to a company the size of GPG or stardock?
What the heck you're alive?
You might as well join in on these festivities.
Oh yeah and I can get some of the GM guys in, Orcun, Renz, McShane87 should join.
I'll go and grab magnus333 too, once he stops ignoring me on msn. There's only so much ignoring you can do.
Aaand Zen_God, once I figure out how to drag him back onto vent.
Great guys i cant really tell people in game because my computer is on reparation. If you would do so to help get this tourny going it would be appreciated.
Also, yes what is 500 bucks to a company? I think they could definetly sponsor a tournament as it might be the last. More and more people are deciding to quit this game.
Someone knows how to reach frogboy?
They = lagwars. SD or GPG have never sponsored or organized a Demigod tournament. There was a tournament hosted by the Eurpoean Gaming League if I remember right, but I don't know if there were prizes for that. Lagwars is probably the best bet for getting some sort of prize going, but I don't think that will happen at this point. You really have to ask yourself why it would be worth it to a company to sponsor a tournament. I believe lagwars sponsors tourney's from time to time because it drums up website traffic for them, which should drive some revenue via ads. However, if all the additional traffic they can expect to get is from 50 or so people on the DG forums, then its not worth all that much to them. And SD doesn't gain much other than supporting the more hardcore online community - and we're the guys that point out and complain about bugs and balance, etc. On a side note, I believe DG is going to be deactivated (maybe) on gamereplay.org. Got a pm from an admin there saying something to that effect.
Anyway, the best bet, IMO, would be to organize the tourney and get AS MANY 2 man teams as possible. Then contact Sarc at lagwars or perhaps Ziss and see if they'd be willing to sponsor. I assume that the more teams you get the more likely you are to get sponsored. There's no guarantee they'd sponsor or even offer a cash prize if they did. I very strongly doubt that Frogboy's going to sponsor a tournament - certainly not for a cash prize.
It is completely unsurprising that Darky would unplug DG on GR.org. The site serves as a mule for this site to be able to post replays easily.
Can you really get all these guys Ninki for a 2 vs 2? Personally I would probably say "Booo who actually plays that besides zen_god?" I hear Renz is back and if he wants to join I would consider it, but I wouldn't be happy about playing! You don't even like 2 vs 2 ninki, you're not going to be able to convince anyone if you're not passionate about it yourself.
Why not try to organize the logical choice of a 3 vs 3 cataract tournament? I know that might seem like it will be harder because it requires more total players, but it is what the overwhelming majority of people play. Just off the top of my head I know of 2 teams who wouldn't play because this is 2 vs 2 and not 3 vs 3: they are longshade, northwood, kogames and -gamer-, ~su~, and -kabka-. The current 2-3 teams could just add one more player and if those two active premades I named will join then you're already halfway there. -Gamer- and co. don't speak much english, so it might be harder to get them but I'm sure I've seen longshade or one of the other two on this forum somewhere.
If 3 vs 3 is a dirt idea, you should at least clarify in the original post, is it only one tier demigod allowed, so other super combos like Oak and Rook or Sedna and Beast are okay? Or is it as cow suggested: one tier 1 demigod and 1 of Reg, TB, or DA?

Yes cows idea is very good and I should make it a rule.
About having 3 vs 3, I personally think that a good 2 vs 2 tournament could be amazingly fun. Is that just me?
To each his own. I'm not a fan of 2v2 personally but play it if necessary.
After playing a 2v2 recently versus Pacov for what had to be atleast 40 minutes with a total of 3 kills between both team I am not a fan of 2v2 either but I would play regardless.
Sure it's potentially fun. Eating a vegetarian pizza might be fun too if you haven't eaten many vegetables lately and are feeling nutrient deprived. But in general non-vegetarians like their pizza with some sort of meat on it, similarly most people like to play their demigod in teams of 3. So to summarize, the meaty pizza in theory should be the easier sell. Just a suggestion is all, I do not guarantee that people will be any more interested in 3 vs 3 then they are this 2 vs 2 tournament. I'm just saying that the meaty pizza theory is based on extensive factual evidence.
playing in a tournament could be awesome fun, but I don't have a partner. I think alot of people might fall in this catagory. If there was a pool of players to pair up that could be good.
If we could get the people 3v3 is always more fun but considering how thin the population seems to be in this game im not going to hold my breath.
hmm... I don't know about this one. I mean, I read that and all it means to me is the 2nd DG must be Tb. At least in my mind, in a 2v2, only Tb would be all that viable unless you are up against weak players. Anyone really disagree? Maybe expand this list and add QoT? I do agree that it would probably be more fun to limit the character options on the 2nd dg though.
I think all three are equally viable. The addition of a QoT would just lead every team to be a a tier 1 + qot team imo
I guess I disagree with you on part of this. I really don't think that da or reg would be viable in a 2v2 against good players. I personally can't imagine a da being highly effective in anything less than a 3v3. You make a reasonable point re: qot. But consider if you don't include her in the list, then what.. 0 people will be using her.
Zero people would use DA, Reg, or TB if the tournement was choose whatever demigod you like.
fair enough. Just a thought though.
Teseer....
Boom Roasted!
@shane
I even play 1on1 if i have to:P
I think 2on2s are the most interesting games. Here is the skill of the individual more important than group ganking. In 3on3 whoever gangs and supports best, wins... And with 3 GMs on one team I don't think there are enough players to match that... One reason is that there are just not enough good players who play together. And even if, it's usually 2 people who play most of the time together. The other reason is teams of 3 are hated by the community and never find a game. They get either kicked from lobbies or 98% percent are too scared to play them and shout them out as premades...
I have two friends who started playing demigod last week. When we try to play a game all together people just shout us out as stupid premades and we never get a game going
I wish there was an option as a host to turn off win percentages...
