We’re not kidding about the “Limited” aspect of this. We’re currently only planning to authorize the production of 10,000 of these. But for those of you who, like me, miss the “old days” of Ultima IV and such when games came with big maps, cloth maps and other goodies, here you go.
The exchange rate you see on things like the news is the rate that global currency traders are giving to each other. The rates that stores/banks/paypal/etc give out aren't as good. That is likely the discrepency.
I'm actually having the same issue with the upgrade. It shows $20, then becomes $20.51 at checkout (Canadian exchange rate is quite good right now). But the subtotal is $30.77.
My previous pre-order included a boxed edition, so I've already paid shipping once. Is the difference in shipping between these two versions really $10 more?
Holding off on the checkout until I get this clarified.
I had the same situation, but went through with it anyways.
However, it looks like I've been charged double shipping and something errored out with the order so even though PayPal tells me they gave money to Stardock, Stardock never confirmed that the order completed. I'm currently waiting to hear back from sales@stardock.com on this matter.
I was just charged $40 to upgrade. Is that right?
Any further word on this?
I got to the checkout with the subtotal higher and the amount I had to confirm paying was 20$. Contact sales@stardock.com for any questions or problems.
As of now, I've heard nothing from sales@stardock. What's the turnaround time supposed to be? I sent my query in on the evening of the 9th.
After you posted, I tried it. Same thing. The subtotal adds shipping, but the actual order process removed it again.
Thanks for the heads up.
That's a better explantion than me. Yeah, so clicking to checkout after seeing subtotal actually corrects the price. There's no harm in going farther in any online shop, as long as you don't press the accept button.
Well, money schmoney when it comes to these things...
I like the standard edition's cover art better than the limited ones, so I guess I'm going to have to buy two copies anyway.
Also... not that I'm complaining, but how can there be a cloth map of a game with randomized maps?
Thats a halriously good point. lmao.
Maybe it's in squares like a quilt and you just arrange em to match the map you're playing.
It's a cloth map of the campaign, which is a set map.
Does the limited edition show up on the Impulse game list? I'm pretty sure I preordered it, but I can't find an email and don't see it indicated anywhere, and don't won't to order it twice. Any help would be appreciated.
its in the beta so its not going to show up on the list unless you orderd before they closed it again, if your worried try emailing stardock support i'm sure they would be able to help you.
I assume we can get the Limited Edition in stores in Europe..?
If not, then partner up with Gamestop and the other retailchains. (No, I don't know how the publisher/retailer relationship works.)
Any international retail availability for collector's editions (and their contents) would be up to whatever international publishers we sign. We only do US/Canada ourselves.
9 days and two emails later, I'm still waiting on sales@stardock.com to clear up my order status, or even respond or acknowledge receipt of my emails.
double post
Well, tell the european publisher that we also want the soundtrack, dragon pewter figure, cloth map etc.
Otherwise I'd have to order from you and pay $20 in shipping and handling....Gonna be one expensive game this....
*bump*
Can we please get a response on this? I'd like to know how much I'm getting charged here....
When will Stardock publish outside of US/Canada? I've not really enjoyed the publishers that end up dealing with your games here.
If you've been double charged on shipping, please contact sales@stardock.com and they'll sort it out.
I believe a DO WANT NAO is in order
I just upgraded. At first it added shipping again - but as I progressed it got my original purchase records (name, address etc) and it then deleted the additional shipping, so i paid $21.50 Australian... The beta is a lot of fun. I'm looking forward to the actual release. I still have the original box from Master of magic and play it sometimes with Dos Box, The master of magic manual was invaluable - so I'm hoping the Elemental manual will even more useful...
Be well oh mighty Stardockians...
