Elemental: Limited Edition
Specifications:
The pewter piece dragon
New Users: Elemental: Limited Edition
Upgrade option for existing pre-order users: Soon
We’re not kidding about the “Limited” aspect of this. We’re currently only planning to authorize the production of 10,000 of these. But for those of you who, like me, miss the “old days” of Ultima IV and such when games came with big maps, cloth maps and other goodies, here you go.
Tag for when details come out on how to upgrade. Honestly I like the new box a lot better. Has no one else ever seen the yellow corner on one side and not on the other and thought it was strange? I dig the black and white.
Edit: New release date is the day before my birthday too.
I don't see any way to upgrade my already purchased copy. I'll be really disappointed if new purchasers snag all 10k copies before the upgrade path is available so early purchasers like me can upgrade.
Ooooh When can we upgrade our existing orders? I really want to make sure I get mine.
Likewise wish to upgrade.
I'll probably skip the limited edition. I usually buy Stardock game but for me shipping cost are too much (20$, we pay 50% more in total) so this time i preordered the digital only edition.
Are there instructions to the game anywhere?
Well, if you look at Mass Effect 2 Collector's, which I bought on Impulse, I still got the artwork book, comic (both in PDF), documentary and soundtrack (and in-game bonuses). Else, I would've gotten the box as I wanted the artwork and documentary.
So the Digital Limited Edition could contain:
It's just an idea. I'll be getting the physical loot, if only for the dragon which should fit right along my comics figurine collection.
I much prefer digital maps... I guess I can zoom in and point my finger at the screen and say things like "The main force will advance along things route. Reinforcments will come up from here. We need to watch for ambushes here, here and here. Any questions?" - to my self.
The offering looks fantastic. I think I'd buy it so that my boys could experience the coolness factor of what game packaging used to be like (referring to the Ultima games).
This. Another picture with an object to provide reference as to it's size would be appreciated.
Oops, double post.
Sold!
However:
This is what I got as well when I pre-ordered just now.
Frogboy (or any other Stardockian), could you please confirm/clarify this?
I move around a lot and may have to change my shipping locations and stuff. However, I would love to get this. Would I be able to modify my shipping location after I submit my order?
crap i went with digital download, hopefully i can upgrade aswell. I am a sucker for figurines
How "Soon" is Soon? I'd like to upgrade mine while supplies last.
Yeah, what if the LEs run out before we can upgrade?
If they sell out before anybody has a chance to upgrade, it'd make sense for them to authorize more of them. I don't think they're going to take the most fanatical customers and say "hey thanks for ordering early, suckers!"
THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!
(YES, ALL CAPS = I AM SHOUTING!)
Okay that is a true fanboy.
wow that looks cool... i might have to jump into this
"I much prefer digital maps... I guess I can zoom in and point my finger at the screen and say things like "The main force will advance along things route. Reinforcments will come up from here. We need to watch for ambushes here, here and here. Any questions?" - to my self."
But you will not be able to stand in your game room, with a wooden Pointing Stick, and point to those same points on the real "18x26” cloth map of the world of Elemental" while telling your forces what you said.
And slapping the Cloth map, for maximum effect, always gets their attention better than pointing your finger. (especially effective when you by yourself)
LOL LOL LOL
"But for those of you who, like me, miss the “old days” of Ultima IV and such when games came with big maps, cloth maps and other goodies, here you go."
I miss the good old days also. Like when every game came with a cloth map a full instruction book not in a limited edition, it also cost $29.98!
In the words of a twelve year old from call of duty 1 multiplayer: "OWNED!!11!!!".
How time passes eh?
Also I remember a time when games were an improvement on what was already out, rather than going backwards (im refering to other games not Elemental).
Most of the rest of the world is not even aware of Elemental yet, or it is a distant blip on their radar. I would be shocked and amazed if every person on this board does not have ample opportunity to upgrade to the LE before the unwashed masses are even considering ordering.
