Battlefield Bad Company 2 was released yesterday, and I haven’t had a chance to pick it up yet, but I’m seeing huge raves from my gaming friends about it so far. If you are playing, let me know how it is and please post some cool screenshots!
*sigh* Then I guess I must pray for Battlefield 2142 with the Frostbite engine, and excellent AI, as well as all things classically Battlefield. I count the features introduced in BF2 and continued in BF2142 as "classically Battlefield". Even 2142's "Titan" game mode is classically Battlefield.
I am running an e4300 overclocked to 3 GHz and an 8800 GTS. I have not gotten a FPS number yet but for me the game plays very smooth. At first things were a little bit stuttery and ironically the cutscenes were the worst. I went through the .ini file and disabled bloom. I also created an Nvidia profile for the game and minimized AA and AF. I am sure that the game is not AS pretty as it was before that but I cannot see the difference and the whole thing is silky smooth now.
Very happy with the game so far. I hope to get much more MP in.

After almost 2 weeks of full immersion game I'm ready to say: buy it. If your computer can handle it, it's simply the best multiplayer fps ever made.
Which ini file do you have to adjust to change the bloom? What is bloom anyway?

I believe that the settings.ini file is in your My documents/BFBC2 folder.Here is a link to some info re: .ini settings and nvidia overrides.
now that is a fact, not sure if anyother fps will be able to beat it.
