Go get it on steam! I'm downloading now as we speak and will report back after playing. Cheers
Id pay £100 (thats real money btw) for a real SupCom 2 rather than the console edition.
You and me both, Aractain.
I agree as well, I for one didn’t buy Demigod for PC because of "Impulse", so many Issues I had with it!Additionally, I’m partial to Steam, now before you flame, please understand I did beta testing, problem solving/finding/more, for a LONG time, and in its current state, I LOVE IT, I have 3 copies of multiple games, SPECIFICLY BECAUSE they came out on Steam!, like BF2CC I have one retail, one EA Downloader and 1 Steam copy! It works perfect for me, I know how to configure my PC so I never have had ANY issues with it (or anything really)! Now as for SupCom2... I would ALSO PAY $100 FOR A PC VERSION, NOT THIS CRAPPY A$$ CONSOLE PORT!, I went to my Local LAN center, and tried it out... WOW is all I can say, I missed the upgrade systems, the adjecency bonus, and while the UI was complex in the original I REALLY miss SOME of it! I wish they would make the UI customizable, I’m REALLY glad I bought SupCom/ForgedAlliance, I still manage to get playability out of it (both single and multiplayer)! Did I mention I missed the upgrade system? The new "tech" system sucks and is a poor substute. I also think its retarded that they took out the assisted building so more than one unit can help construct a building, removed a TRUE building queue (IE if you don’t have the resources you have to wait till you have more resources to queue up again, effectively ending a TRUE base building queue at game start), and the unit queuing! Meaning you cannot link Air/Land/Water facilities anymore! (If you think I mean select all and build 5 at each base you are mistaken, I mean assign all facilities to 1, build 5 at that one, and the rest build 1 as well so those 5 units get spread to each capable facility)The game has been dumbed down, and while MANY new CASUAL players will like it, many of the Average/Continual players who will make up the majority of your player base will not (as shown by the posts here and elseware filled with hate), but then again I really didn’t expect more from a company who basically just upgraded TA
What do you mean?
I DL from Steam and where is this Debug? May you link me?

They say the story is really bad. Square Enix pushed for that part. Judging by Supcom2, the Japanese should really stay out of the Western RTS market and focus on making RPGs and they other games they specialize in.
Considering Square Enix owns Eidos (which was moderately terrible) they're already in the Western market. (I have no idea what Eidos had for RTSes mind you, but they probably had some.)
Well, here's what I think is REALLY bad: I read many forums, I see many "disapointed" or almost "heartbreaking" posts about SC2. Then it stops. That is really bad, because, peoeple are just trying it; purging, and moving on. Not even taking the time to troll-post or ream out the devs. They just are totally moving on.
I think it would have almost been better if you had seen non-stop complaint posts about the game. But I think that it's becoming a time in "gaming history" where people have had it with these hyped games for profit (games like Spore topping the list) and are now, using forums and word of mouth, learning what to buy, and what to avoid like the plague. . .
They get the anger and hatred out of thier system and can't be bothered to waste thier emotions of a faliure of a game (to them).
Its a shame, but Supreme Commander is now a console title. Who knows, they may even make it exclusively console next time. It dosn't seem to fill any gaps, it gets TOTALY ANNIHILATED (har har) by starcraft II at what its trying to do.
I want to say more about this somehow.
I could tell Supreme Commander 2 wasn't going to be as good as the first one when Square Enix, a maker of JRPG's, was announced as the publisher for a Western RTS. I then saw the E3 preview video with the tiny maps that showed off the unit upgrade system. Later I heard they removed the flow resource system and engineer-assisted building. At that point I knew SupCom2 was going to fail, hard.
Its not always obvious, Mass Effect 2 had some radical-ish changes. Who knows what the hell Fable 3 is going to be like (nothing like what was told to you by that fantasist monlyneux .. i? ... whatever).
I don't mind changes. I LIKE the idea of making the harder to understand parts of games easier to understand but they removed the HEART of the game for me, the stratergy. Every little change made it small scale and all about tactics. It could be called Starcraft Commander II, but that would insult Starcraft.
I don't think this is solid reasoning. Your observations could equally suggest that these players are changing their minds and spending more time playing rather than discussing. You are also talking about the loud, vocal minority that posts in the forums--it is hardly representative of the entire playerbase. There are heaps and heaps of players enjoying this game. You just don't hear from them because they are too busy having fun.
