The Forge Tools 3 has modding documentation which is a good introduction, but much of the information is outdated and has changed for Entrenchment, Diplomacy and Rebellion. According to the original Sins Mod Set (2008), you will need to copy the 'entire' folder set from your SoaSE install directory to the created mod folder, then convert the files you wish to modify to text. Those which are not included will not be used by the game.
For the Entrenchment, Diplomacy expansions, and Rebellion, you only have to include the files that you want to change and if you want to "remove" an original file you have to remove it from the entity manifest (which is explained in the documentation). Also note that it includes some reference files which are outdated and you will need to create your own or download the archives for Rebellion or Trinity that includes all current versions.
TECH = TEC PSI = Advent PHASE = Vasari
The first thing on a new modder's list should be the Developer.exe's. Weather you are starting to build a new mod or testing a downloaded mod this tool is very useful for finding errors and game testing. If you are not sure about the errors generated or you want to keep track of them you will want to Enable Logging, then you can copy the information to paste into a thread in the modding forum.

I will be doing some videos for XSI, some will be short, others longer, all part of a playlist to import a .obj and get it all setup for SoaSE.

Damn it !
The free hosting service is gone again. Working on moving the pages to a new paid host.
Steam and ModDB are way to limited, and a real pain in the ass to work with. I will post periodic updates here as pages become available.
Did you already buy a host?
Not to bring my politics in this forum, but I run the GamerGaters steam group and a few months ago I purchased GamerGate.ca and 500 GB for a year. It's not getting much use for that, so I will be making a SoaSE folder and use it for all the modding files.
I may make a donation link, its aprox $80 a year, I can add forums, models, sounds, a big modding repository for all our needs. We will see. For now I am just rebuilding the pages.
Dang.
Good luck with the move.

I just finished working on http://gamergate.ca/SoaSE/Export.html which has a few sections. I may break them up into separate pages yet, input welcome. And yes, the list code needs some CSS yet.
#Clean-up_Scene moved it
#Export_dotXSI
#Rebellion_vs_Trinity_Mesh
I thought this deserved a small section
#Convert_XSI
Been so long since I did this manually I am not even up on how anyone experienced does it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I am showing 2 methods. The second method is sorta what my script does, but I fear reading it may be a jumbled mess to the novice. Help me out if you think it could be explained better please. This goes for any of the tutorials.
Pretty well through all the modeling ones.
Not sure if your site supports multiple domains, but I might be interested down the road of sharing the burden if so. I'm in for about $40 a year excluding my domain for what I'm playing with right now.
I will look into multi domains soon as I am all set up again, just did a format C: and installed some new hardware.

Convert Data is almost done, need to update some pics.
Hi, I am new to modding but a longtime SoaSE fan. My question is, as I have never modded anything except a Titan Quest weapons map, how would I go about adding upgrade points to starbases? And Bank targets? Rebellion 1.82

Bump most links are not working and I was pondering toying with modding with the new stuff.
I am thinking about buying a new domain and some space. Until then, ask away, loads will help you on this forum.
After careful thought there are so many mods that I already dont have time for even though I have much time. I would rather play those then recreate what they have already done. So thanks to all the great modders already out there.
I was told I could come here for help, but it looks like this could end up being a mutual agreement.
I need to learn how to take parts from this and that mod and put them into another mod, with also making sure they work.
you need to find a host, from what I read, one that won't charge you.
I may be able to help with that, seeing as how I am willing to donate to the cause, as long as it helps others like me with modding.
I can host it for you!
I have one simple question. Have you tried convert a xsi model made with softimage 2013 64bits? I have tried and the convertxsi did not convert well the model. However, I have xsi files made with a 32bits version and it worked.
I go to answer me. I have tried my older softimage 2010 (do not ask because I did not try before ) and it works. Who knows, perhaps it is because I used the 2010 scenes in the 2013. But at least now, I can edit some of my older models and perhaps create some new.
How to increase the size of the cards? Tell me please!
And how to increase the number of players? Costs 10, it is necessary more!
