The second coming is upon us! The PCgaming world will never be the same again!
Music is good. Nice and relaxed. Sound effects are good (voices are really good!)
Gameplay is fast and furios and combatmicromanagement is rewarded so nothing for slowheads. Every race have a unique macromanagement mechanic that gives benefits if used (and is necessary for keeping up with a good player.)
Here's a stream: http://www.livestream.com/jobbies/video?clipId=pla_d3b54ec8-0b46-4706-925b-78a1216aab86
The graphics are better then what's shown in the stream (thank GOD for that!)
There are a some screenshots over at http://www.gosugamers.net/starcraft2/blogs/1656
I'd like to see a comparison between the online population of Sins before and after the StarCraft II beta was available
scan it first then if you so scared.
starcraft ghost is like duke nukem forever we might never be sure when those 2 come out.
StarCraft Ghost was first a stealthbased game but they changed it towards action and then it was canned.
I'm sure I've read that Blizzard is doing a consolegame now and StarCraft: Ghost might be it!
No, I don't got a source....but I remember having read it somewhere....I believe it was from a developer as well!
Before the release, I'll create a new thread where we all exchange our Battle.Net nicks and possibly Msn and such so we can play together. I've always preferred to play people you can chat to afterwards and keep in contact with. Random strangers turn me off.
Last I heard before Ghost was put on "Permanant Hyatus" (In Blizzard's own words), Ghost was going to be released on XBOX Original. This was obviously before 360 came out. I read this in a brief advertizement that was included in my Starcraft Battle Chest. Currently, the only followup on Ghost that I know of is a relatively well written novel by the same name, covering the background of Nova. (For those who don't know, Nova was meant to be the star-character of Ghost) I recommend the book to those who like reading, though I'd place it at about an 8th grade reading level.

enjoying the beta, im not much of sc2 player yet, ranked 5th but in a copper league;). But if anyone still wants to add and 2v2 im under:
iokke.jeka
would be fun to do some games with dg ppl
2v2 come down to the other 2 rushing one of the others first and winning most of the time.
not going to complain if you send me an invite.
I have my beta, but I've only played a couple games. It's inevitable that once I start playing more, my roommate will want me to go up against him. He used to make the Koreans cry back in the day, and he just as good today. Can a Zerg rush kill you in real life?
Yes...Yes it can.
R.I.P. Rosco_P
-Twilight Sorm
Invite me Rosco!
After 15 or so games, I am just not liking this... It feels like a 12 year old game with pretty graphics.
Lordkosc, that's the entire point of SC2, to avoid turning away any rabid Korean fanboys.
i see
would love a beta invite if anyone has one of the "invite a friend" keys they recently sent out. My friends already gave theirs out before I heard about it
If you're feeling super generous p.m. me lol I'd love you forever
I might be forced to start hunting down BlizzCon attendees soon if I don't get an invite. Seriously.
I recently picked up Brood War to reminisce on the greatness. Subscribed to half a dozen youtubers that post SC2 videos... man. I'm dying here.
Khaze, if you go to the Team Liquid website and go to live streams you can watch live games. -Orb-'s stream is probably the highest quality, Psyonic Reaver has a pretty good stream too, and he does fun stuff. (His channel description is : Watch me spam sentries and nerd rage when it doesn't work!)
Uhh, may we have a link, please?
http://www.teamliquid.net/sc2/
there you go. look right under streams.
also look for:
Hdstarcraft
huskystarcraft
blitzshouter
diggitysc
and sc2ggrise
on youtube
Hmmm...Thank's tesb.
(Grr...Now I can't be mad at you for stealing my sig on the last post game...............I'll think of something, I suppose )
Terran has the worst win rate of any of the races. So, of course, Blizzard nerfs the Terran pretty hard IMO. Zerg's got a buff on banelings, they now do 33% more effing damage when they already nuked everything in existence. (their bonus damage was lowered by the same amount, which means they just become more versatile) Roaches got a tiny, tiny nerf: they regenerate a bit less while burrowed, whoop de doo. Marine construction time was increase to 25 seconds (25%), SCV health was hurt too, making them the weakest worker units D: Protoss was maybe nerfed a bit, it's hard to tell, the changes to P were insignificant except for the -7 damage to the thermal lance upgrade.
Ah, splitshadow, SCVs still have 45 health while other workers have 40. They're still the strongest worker, just not by 50% anymore. Also, the nerf to SCVs and marines/reactors was because of early rushes that were unstoppable. Terrans would just build like 8 marines, attack with most/all of their SCVs, and there's nothing the other player could do to stop it except for a heavy wall or cheese back.
A protoss player can put a pylon and a gateway at their choke and hold off quite a few marines. Also, if you're attacking with all of your SCV's, you're kind of going all in, the toss player could always pull of a few probes to take them out. Also, one early sentry WRECKS any hope of rushing.
Zerg can make twice as many lings before the terran gets there. Terran can wall off or make a bunker, and they'll be totally fine.
SCVs need health so they can actually use their repair ability without getting killed.
MMM midgame is not a very strong strategy, it can be easily countered by teching to anything. The entire mech line for terran needs a significant buff if you're going to nerf their only viable strategy.
I'm lovin' the beta but I have to admit the game feels almost a bit too much like starcraft 1 from 10 years ago. Very econo-centric. Lots of frenetic clicking. Luckily some things have been streamlined such as no unit caps in grouping.
I'm a Protoss player fo'life. Not sure why Terrans have the lowest win %. I think it's because newer players have difficulty spending their resources efficiently and expanding properly late game. Terran units are pretty nasty overall.
Mech line may need a buff but MMM + emp + vikings (vs colossus) really put a hurt on Protoss. I definitely don't think the matchup is one-sided. Also feedback, the high templar counter to ghosts, is a joke.
That's why it is called a cheese rush - if it doesn't succeed, you're supposed to be screwed long-term. But because Terrans have Mules, they can send all thier SCVs so you have to pull all your workers in respone, but they happily keep mining along, able to constantly produce marines. Zerg and Protoss starting units are both melee, so they bring the SCVs as a meatshield because of of worker autoattack and they're extra health. And if you do wall in, they just expand and start to beat you in a war of attrition.
But I do agree that Mech needs a boost. Although I have been seeing some great Hellion rush/harrass.
EMP isn't something that kills Protoss, it's something that makes the matchup even. To get MMM and Vikings you need starports with reactors, barracks with reactors, and more barracks with tech labs. It's very gas heavy and the tech isn't instantaneous ya know. Feedback is almost as useless as snipe is on ghosts.
Mules are terrible. Terran is always at an economic disadvantage. Protoss players using chrono boost can produce more workers, Zerg players can produce multiple drones at once. Each of these mechanics let your mineral income grow linearly, whereas mules cost twice as much energy and are only temporary boosts. IMO mule should be an upgrade that combines 2 or 3 SCVs (like HT to archons) and it should take about 5 seconds, and the mule should last forever. Helions can harass very well, but they can only kill zerglings, drones, and probes. If you block your ramp with 3 roaches, they can send a billion helions at you, but you can most likely hold. Also, if you spread your army, helions are worthless trash.
The balance right now is pretty good, but Terran is definitely at a slight disadvantage IMO.
