This has to be a new standard for stupid DRM. If at any point you don't have an Internet connection, the game will kick you out, and lose your progress since the last save. Have a drop for 2 seconds? Sorry, start over. Router problems? Get lost. Want to play your single player game in a spot that doesn't have constant Internet?
Ubisoft doesn't want you as a customer.
To me, it only seems like they are trying to make piracy even more attracive. Haven't they heard that No-CD cracks are VERY popular? Why you ask? Because it removes a little annoyance and a "law" you have to follow, which people hate. By doing that they are only adding an annoyance and not just a little one. On top of that they are forcing us to do something. People don't like to be forced to do ANYthing, even if it doesn't have any tangible consequence. But what they are forcing us to do can have awful consequences like you guys mentionned.
I personnally loveD Ubisoft, coming from Quebec, and after liking AC1 I was sure I'd buy the second. Now my love for them has turned into disbelief of their stupidity and there is no way I'm buying a game with that new DRM.
From the AC2 page
"UBISOFT MAY CANCEL ACCESS TO ONLINE FEATURES UPON A 30-DAY PRIOR NOTICE PUBLISHED AT http://assassinscreed.com"
Good god almighty! And they have the gall to charge $60 USD for this?!?! Maybe we should just turn back the hands of time and require quarters to play the damn game.
