Think of this thread as something similar to conceptships.blogspot.com for the Sins community. Basically, a way for the community to share what they have created whether it makes it into a mod or not.
At a minimum post a screen shot of your model in blender, xsi, 3d object converter, etc or in game. If you have a name for your ship or story behind it, even better.
We are looking forward to seeing what you have created!

From the beginning of this thread IskatuMesk has wow'd us with his models and ultimately released a video of his creations in Sins of a Solar Empire. This particular model was my favorite in the beginning and still stands out.

Yes, downsized a bit. I used that to test the idea. I was thinking something like planet/moon/asteroid upgrade, or a large Starbase built around the core of a white dwarf, a Deathstar, yes. Perhaps even an upgrade to a star if it were possible IDK.

After an immense amount of time attempting to design a middle-range Anahn ship and failing, I think it's time to attempt one of the biggest of all Anahn ships. Of these monsters only a dozen were created over the course of a thousand years, before Adashim launched his campaign to retake Anahn space.
Today I begin my grand effort to create the Bloodstone Battlecruiser.
These are meshes I created using Symmetry on the Gahennas Battlecruiser a time ago. They are currently too high poly for Sins, and they would need significant reworking to bring into Anahn spec. I intend to take the right one and do just that.
I'd also like to bring down the Leviathan to 50k tri but currently it's double that. I don't know if I can optimize that ship enough to bring it that low without destroying it. Anyways, that's for another day. Today, I set my sights higher.
now that zombie has got the download for the race tutorial set up i can get back to work on my mod im going to put out so you will see some of the ships i posted a while back with the inverted colors and volcaninc planet texture

Yep, credits are in the descriptions. Two of the arcadia class models are mine.
I have a script that renames all files and references if you want me to do a one time generation for you. I would limit the race name for the files to a short name for your race as there are some files that become to long for sins. 5 or less for Race1(TECH) and 6 or less for Race2(Advent) and Race3(Vasari). If you want longer you may have to reduce the file name on some files...
I'm using this to generate the base race files for my mod.

The Ghost is, The Min's Wind is from a different modeller. Although if I can fix some of the holes in SolCommand's other models they will work nice for the Rogue race.

She's scarcely under 11k polies right now, which is good. Lots of room to work with for this legendary ship.
soo is adding a planet basically the same as adding a ship cuz my planet im am making will be done later today just as soon as i can find the asteroid belt mesh in the game folder

Here's the Dyseg Defense base. Built around the core of star that's long since burnt off all its fuel. Still yielding massive radio active energy, immense gravitational forces and powerful magnetic fields from its still molten core. Only by utilizing the strongest of materials and a containment field that uses a substantial amount of the energy that is collected by the base from the core itself, can it withstand the close confines. The surplus however, by normal star base standards is very large, and it boasts a powerful set of energy weaponry and defenses. Not surprisingly the base is phenomenally expensive & can only be even considered build-able by large Empires.
Well that's the concept anyhow, I guess you could use it, or parts of it, for other structures and what not if you wanted.
Hey IskatuMesk, you really have a talent for modeling space ships, your experience shows. It would be good to see them in action some day.

SuperZero: Nice alterations. I have to say that the torn up look you had previously looked good, but the polished job fits better for a game where things should be largely finalized.
Dante: That's a nice ship. It makes me think Progenitor from Homeworld 2. As for fitting it with weapons, it looks like it has a powerful prow weapon. For vessels like that I was always partial to the idea of putting weaker weapons to defend the sides and minimal cover on the flank, making fleet positions very important. If you want an example, look up the Vaygr Dreadnought in Homeworld 2: Complex.
o don't worry its actually from a star wars game just don't know witch going to give it to the vasari the front is going to be a heavy pulse beam the sides are going to be week pulse an the two big guns per side are going to be pulse guns.
I would say mix it up and make the two big guns wave beams. Just to mix it up and add the need for multiple upgrades to get it to full function.
I would say it looks more TEC than Vasari but you could either chok it up to stolen design or maybe smooth out a few elements. Granted, I have no idea which, but I'm sure you know what I mean.
i was going to try to smooth up the model make it mare vasari im not that good so i might mess it up though gonna have to back it up

Damn, that is sweet dude...
I especially like the projecting gun mounts (that's what I assume those are) on the rear port and starboard. Certainly not a ship you can afford to let point straight at you.
