Think of this thread as something similar to conceptships.blogspot.com for the Sins community. Basically, a way for the community to share what they have created whether it makes it into a mod or not.
At a minimum post a screen shot of your model in blender, xsi, 3d object converter, etc or in game. If you have a name for your ship or story behind it, even better.
We are looking forward to seeing what you have created!

From the beginning of this thread IskatuMesk has wow'd us with his models and ultimately released a video of his creations in Sins of a Solar Empire. This particular model was my favorite in the beginning and still stands out.
SivCorp looking to stretch new ideas from existing models managed to create several menancing models including the fantastic Vasari version seen here: (Vasari Flagship Sonar Kal'd used in the Distant Stars Mod)
It's my thread so a few of my stuff...
Hey, its ORB! My first space game right there!
And Tobi, the key to seams is a good base layer that can transition easy. Sometimes too much detail works against you...
But Shmily is right, you are good with it, so keep at it!
@Shmily123Looks pretty good. And demonic
@SivCorpThanks, yes, it's the Ambient occlusion and the normalmap that make the seams so visible. But I wouldn't want to miss them.
@siv it was my second one found it at biglots
@tobiwahn whats kindof sad about them is their the gods in the game
@Shmily123I don't know, I've never played O.R.B
heres the aldar dreadaught witch never made into the game and the battleship in sins
Shmily,
It's for the Stargate Races mod. The effect is quite simple. Just a rotating bright center with some thing rays of light rotating inside it. Not much to it, but relatively effective in game. The latest release for Diplomacy has one ship using a very large one included in the mod. You should be able to copy it and easily modify it for your own needs. I had some trouble getting it to stay permanently in game though, so I had to resort to just a ridiculously long lifespan because "time is infinite" didn't seem to work on the effect.

thanks gonna have to look uo how to do that thought
It's just Particle Forge work. If you have the mod tools then you should have it. I'm not especially good with Particle Forge but it's simple enough to take something and modify it a bit to suit your requirements. In this case it sounds like it might be as simple as picking a different color and changing the width values.
my computer wont run particle forge it crashes everytime i open it
Well, for the rotating effect from the Omega in the B5 mod, the particlelifespan is almost 3171 year !!!
I think I used 9,999,999 (maybe another 9?) seconds if I recall. Should be plenty long enough. Lol.
I know, I copied the number off of the Flair for the Pirates rotating skull i believe. I didn't calculate how damn long of a timespan that was
This is my 5th (?) model. No textures, though. Is there an easy to follow texture tutorial?
OK, how do you show your pictures?
Upload your image to imageshack or photobucket (free image hosting services) and then use the Insert/edit image button to paste in the URL to the uploaded image.

and The PDF included in Forge tools I converted to web for the SoaSE Weebly
Here it is! Also my third model.
Here is my first model, before I discovered how to create edges and extrude and I thought that knifing it up was the way to go, so it is rather messy...
Here is the aldar capital carrier
@TobiWhan heres something daemonic for you
it looks like you used the volcanic world's texture for it.
Looks like the starship from Hell!
i did but its still cool hehe the texture is closer to what its supposed to look like all the cracks are supposed to be blood red tho
