I am the cook in the family and we have all the family coming over for Xmas lunch in a couple of hours. Roast turkey, roast potatoes (very crispy), mash potatoes, stuffing, peas, carrots, corn and lashings of gravy. Accompanied by several excellent bottles of white wine. And finally the desert........home-made ginger cream log...........with coffee, port and cheese on the side for those that have room
Hey Leo, while you're at it, why don't you go the whole hog and have a banquet, instead???
No point in doing things by half measures, is there?
BTW, Merry Christmas and a happy New Year to you and yours.
Just had: roast chicken, roast potatoes, green beans, yorkshire pudding, and one of my special thick gravys, mmmm...
Followed by xmas pud & custard.

Ham, garlic mashed potatoes, peas, massive amounts of pie, fudge and cookies

Yeah, yeah, I know! It's poofta beer... but I don't feel like putting up Liberace posters or listening to George Michael, so I'm gonna keep drinking it.
Tonight is cold meat (ham, chicken) and garden salad... dessert is homemade lemon cheesecake and icecream. Shaunna makes the bestest cheesecake, so I dunno I'll stop at just one serving.
I had a lot of romanian traditional food: sarmale (my favs), ciorba, carnati, lebar, cozonaci etc. Yummy
Thanks, bud. Xmas wishes to you and the family............By the way, it was a feast............and I made it all. Today.......Turkey left overs with fries and fried eggs..........yummy..........and someone bought some fresh english fruit scones yesterday and I've just been out and bought some fresh clotted cream.........So, 'high tea' today will be fresh cream Cornish scones with a little strawberry jam in between the layers..........Good job I don't have to worry about my waist line!!!
Chicken Supreme Pizza and lots of Coke so that I don't feel hungry again as im all alone at home and can't cook !!
Well, I fixed a Prime Rib, medium rare. Then I made smashed garlic potatoes, fresh brocolli and homemade coconut and banana cream pies! We had a royal feast!
Oh yeah! Happy Birthday to Philly0381!!!
Had the traditonal xmas ham on the 25th and now a big ol' pot of navy beans (with ham bone), a skillet of corn bread and a fresh onion.
oops, seems to be a sydney kind of post!!!
Thanks Leo... we had a very quiet one here... just the missus and I, but it was very enjoyable and the food excellent.
As for the clotted cream, well I hailed from Devon originally - the home of clotted cream and Devonshire teas - and to say that I'm somehat jealous is somewhat of an understatement. Genuine clotted cream in Oz is as rare as hens teeth or as expensive as hell, and the cafes/restaraunts here only serve Devonshire teas with ordinary whipped cream. It's just not the same.., and home-made clotted cream doesn't always turn out too well... geographical differences (of the cows) perhaps?
Oh well, I recently had some original recipe Cornish pasties and scones. After dad died mum eventually remarried to a Cornishman, and he made some up while they were visiting Oz earlier in the year... heavenly!
