Why create this thread?
Simply stated, the ladder is generally not the best depiction of skill, imho. It GENERALLY tracks who plays the game the most and/or who acts like a jerk by cheating instead of who the most talented players are. That's not to say that everyone high up in the ladder falls into this category. So, if I were to put together my own ladder that indicated skill, I wonder how things would shake out. Obvious hurdles being that many highly skilled individuals don't play each other. So, this requires either the people that don't play together to play more together (my personal choice) or I have to rely from feedback from other players.
Your part if you want to participate
Who do you guys think are the best players in demigod today? I understand that its a team game, but individual players do tend to stand out (and I also know that one great player can't guarantee a win if he has weak teammates, etc). I'm happy to have everyone's feedback. I'm not looking for people to jump in and flame. Just call out who you think is great or who you'd like to see fight. Perhaps we'll get games going. You want to flame and talk crap, your post will probably end up deleted.
You can nominate anyone you want. To keep this from being a list of who likes who, several individuals that are generally considered excellent at the game will moderate the list. If those individuals generally agree, a player can be removed or promoted in the list.
I've decided on 4 categories of players and have provided descriptions of each. Please recommend players along with the category you feel they fit in.
Tier 1 Demigod Players:
Realistically, its my belief that there are 10-30 players in this game that are tier 1 DG players (the best). Those players shine as individuals, generally with a wide variety of characters and do not depend on a specific team or teammate to do well. They can play exceptionally in 1v1, 2v2, 3v3, 4v4, and 5v5. These are players that do not cheat or desync games. These are the people that you want on your team or you want to play against because you know you will get a good game. Any player in this list or any other should currently be an active player.
Tier 2 Demigod Players:
These are players that don't quite currently fit into highest level of players, but are good players all the same. Perhaps they require a specific team or can only do well in specific types of games (1v1, 2v2). The bottom line is that they aren't quite as polished or versatile as the highest level players.
Tier 3 Demigod Players:
A third group (or list) would be everyone else. No need to list individuals...
Demigod Players that Should Be Avoided:
These would be specific individuals that clearly (and I mean clearly) cheat. You don't get on this list unless I (pacov) am VERY convinced that you belong here.
Pacov, im here because im not going to let you come here and bash me without defending myself. You were big part in the failure of that game, and to come in hear and say to everyone you had a bad run in with me because i had a problem with how low you were acting is out of line on your part. you want to evaluate performance here? why? so you can discriminate people and shrink your already small circle into elite players that nobody wants to play.
how many of you have different accounts to mask your experience so you can actually find a game? i know i've seen plenty.
How about putting all the smurf account names next to all your tier 1 players.
In an already sparse population, i don't need people avoiding my games because they come here and think what you say is fact. Considering how much influence you spread in the forums you gave me no choice but to tell my side of it.
Xynth - I reiterate - there is no point in a further discussion with you. You maintain you are right. I disagree. Not much else to say on the matter. The key statement in my last post was this:

No one could have won that that game with you as a reg, me as a HP stack oak, and our oc as a squishy "I can run from battles build" but put up no fight. Ask our opponents. The clear consensus was that there was shite we could do with the oc. Even if all I did was follow him and shield, he'd die or I'd die when he jumped away and my shield was gone. No one is trying to run you off of lagwars or get people to avoid you. I don't have any grudge with you. You were a dick to me in 1 game. Perhaps I was a dick to you in another. Woo. Play your games on lagwars and have some fun. We simply don't have to play together again. Or if we do, I really don't give a rip. No one you play with on lagwars is going to refuse to play with you. Those guys aren't like that unless you are a dick to them. So, even if you've only been rude to me an jaws, I really doubt everyone on there is going to shun you or even care. It happens. People are jerks. Now, be so kind as to knock this off.
In my opinion 6 people should not be in tier 1 and 6 people are missing in tier 1 and I play a lot and see a lot of players playing

Seeing as there's quite a lot but not too many Tier 2s, I'm quite happy with that position. It means it's like "woo! I is quite good and the peoples mostly agree" And if I lose in a fairly embarrassing way an odd time (e.g. a certain all sedna game last night) it's just like, "ah, shreddy is just a tier 2... no pressure on him for consistent mega super awesomeness"
But shit like this is so hard to assess isn't it? In absolute honesty if I was pugging right now I'd be indifferent to say having Naur or Cow on my team, Zoahr or Magnus, ABornExile or RAWRRR, Celmare or McShane etc.... I suppose it's the sort of subjectivity to this that makes it so much fun to discuss ^^

Most of us that play on lagwars know all of the smurf accounts. That is one.
Exactly right. Some are great in 2v2... some with just certain teammates... most will lose on a terrible team... its just totally and completely subjective. GM lost a game because they were playing with silly characters, not because they got beat fair and square. I think most of us always have some reason for why we lose.
I realized he was a smurf when I got the lolz from Hedge. I was confused as to why it's funny. Isn't the point of a smurf for people not to know? Regardless if some people know or not, I just didn't see what was funny for the point of a smurf account being upheld.
McShane and Janook had some pretty out there item picks our last game. Don't remember what they were cause I'm at work, but they were pretty goofy.

Well McShane87 was in that game so does this mean he should be removed from the Tier list too? I've played enough games with Mith to know he's definitely up to par for Tier 1. He'll post up his replay soon for the tourney anyway.

Weigh in on jona if you guys have a moment to check out his replays. He pm'd me this info a couple days back but I haven't watched them yet. He's certainly capable and easily qualifies for tier 2 imo. Tier 1. I'm not sure yet. He played well when I got to play with/against, but I think he's still shaking the dust off after being gone for a bit. Thoughts?
I'll be watching his replays in the tourney. I won't hold him back any longer (unless he gets wiped in his first round match). Based on the list as it is, that match will be 2 tier 2's vs a 1 and a 2. Anyway, bottom line if renz and mith win that match, I'll put mith to tier 1. I actually think that might be the first match to go 3 rounds, but we'll see (anyone else notice that there hasn't been a single 3 round game in the tourney yet).
That first game was so funny. I got stunned so many times when I was going to heal and I remembered why I don't play sedna. The second game is not worth posting here or in the first place and I will be linking a replay of you getting your ass kicked shortly for some retribution my entire team didn't give a shit after the first 5 minutes.
As for your tier one status I am undecided yet. I am on the fence!

I hang just fine with...pretty much anyone I play with. If everything feels I'm teir 2, thats fine, but I don't agree
Edit: And I agree with Cow. The only thing that 'Ooze v Spit' replay shows is why not to feed a UB/LE. I think we all knew that already anyway.
Edit: But I do feel Jona is pretty good. I'll reserve judgement till I play with him more.
