Simply stated, the ladder is generally not the best depiction of skill, imho. It GENERALLY tracks who plays the game the most and/or who acts like a jerk by cheating instead of who the most talented players are. That's not to say that everyone high up in the ladder falls into this category. So, if I were to put together my own ladder that indicated skill, I wonder how things would shake out. Obvious hurdles being that many highly skilled individuals don't play each other. So, this requires either the people that don't play together to play more together (my personal choice) or I have to rely from feedback from other players.
Your part if you want to participate
Who do you guys think are the best players in demigod today? I understand that its a team game, but individual players do tend to stand out (and I also know that one great player can't guarantee a win if he has weak teammates, etc). I'm happy to have everyone's feedback. I'm not looking for people to jump in and flame. Just call out who you think is great or who you'd like to see fight. Perhaps we'll get games going. You want to flame and talk crap, your post will probably end up deleted.
You can nominate anyone you want. To keep this from being a list of who likes who, several individuals that are generally considered excellent at the game will moderate the list. If those individuals generally agree, a player can be removed or promoted in the list.
I've decided on 4 categories of players and have provided descriptions of each. Please recommend players along with the category you feel they fit in.
Tier 1 Demigod Players:
Realistically, its my belief that there are 10-30 players in this game that are tier 1 DG players (the best). Those players shine as individuals, generally with a wide variety of characters and do not depend on a specific team or teammate to do well. They can play exceptionally in 1v1, 2v2, 3v3, 4v4, and 5v5. These are players that do not cheat or desync games. These are the people that you want on your team or you want to play against because you know you will get a good game. Any player in this list or any other should currently be an active player.
Tier 2 Demigod Players:
These are players that don't quite currently fit into highest level of players, but are good players all the same. Perhaps they require a specific team or can only do well in specific types of games (1v1, 2v2). The bottom line is that they aren't quite as polished or versatile as the highest level players.
Tier 3 Demigod Players:
A third group (or list) would be everyone else. No need to list individuals...
Demigod Players that Should Be Avoided:
These would be specific individuals that clearly (and I mean clearly) cheat. You don't get on this list unless I (pacov) am VERY convinced that you belong here.

And hey now McShane, it was still a good game even though kalel and trouser got QoT and Reg as their random picks. I have no idea why those two wanted to go random.
Personally i really enjoy playing against you guys, the games are a lot more interesting. I think the reason the lobby got shut down is because i had to go to bed or tend to one of my kids or something.

Hmm... I'll discuss this issue with them. It's true that those 4 don't play together as often but that really shouldn't matter.

The game got closed off because kalel and trouser weren't interested in a 3rd consecutive loss as mithrandar and I had also just beat them before you showed up. You guys started a new game immediately after closing the lobby, and I don't blame them, it's been made clear that Pacov is the 3rd guy for 3 vs 3 clan games. I was just pointing out that they seem to be avoiding us without him there.
Also about the milkshakes, umm sweet, I'll be there in a bit? Is that an advertisement, do you guys have a special on or something? I don't get the reference.
Sounds good, then if they win 2 out of 3 they're in tier 1? Or whose butts do they have to kick? We need some sort of measuring stick. Do they also need victories over a team of the already anointed tier 1 GM members?

You can look at it that way if that helps. I think its reasonably fair to say that our 2 little clans have somewhat different ideologies. I do enjoy the competitive games when possible, though. I also enjoy completely uneven matches, not in my favor, using characters other than oak/erb/ub even if it means my team might be at a disadvantage... and playing favor mod games... and random games... and blahblah. If all you want are competitive games, though, you are certainly barking up the wrong tree with at least me. We'll certainly get many more competitive games in the future. And if you like, games of a more relaxed nature as well.
Well... here's the thing. If GM is saying that all of GM belongs in tier 1, it doesn't have that much credibility, at least in my eyes. It doesn't necessarily mean you are wrong at all, but it comes across to me the same way as it might to you if I promoted everyone in clan pacov to tier 1: eg it comes off really biased. It goes a long way with me if people, not in GM (again, simply because they are recommending their teammates) that are tier 1 or that I consider really excellent to recommend a player for tier 1. And, at least as far as tier 1's go, I don't think anyone outside of GM is nominating these guys.
So, beating my team down in the best of 3 at least tells me that these guys are clearly better than I'm giving them credit for. And provide a recent replay as well showing their team tactics. And again, I don't think any of these guys are slouches by any stretch, but I personally don't believe them to be tier 1 at this point. Could very well be I am out of touch, but again, I'm only calling things as I see them based on REPLAYS posted and games I've had with these guys. Does beating my team get them into tier 1 directly? Nope. Does it make me reevaluate people that I already consider close to tier 1? Yes.
Don't get me wrong here, other than morpheas who's our most competitive player. The rest of us are more then happy to play random games and mix up teams or whatever you like. I don't think we all have the favormod thing that you guys enjoy playing but I just got it and I'm sure the others could be talked into trying it. A truly competitive clan vs clan game is nice but it doesn't always have to be like that. In the case of kalel and trouser the other day they had a game titled be good and a team already formed both times, I'm sure they were talking to eachother on vent but they didn't say anything to us in the lobby, so we just joined and tried to be good like the title asked for. Two of them switched to random in the second game so we just followed along and did too. If any of the 5 of jongalt, trouser, kalel, hedgie, and you are together we're going to assume you want to play together in a serious game unless you say otherwise, so just let us know what you guys like to do. Temporarily join our channel to say what's happening if typing is too much of a bother now. Renzo/hemp-boy and I are the only ones who don't have mics.
Check a couple pages back, ke5trel agreed to the nomination, just didn't discuss like you wanted. No one's also argued against it which you see more then people agreeing.

GM is all about pre from what i saw. I was about to have game with them, for balance i wanted one GM on our side. They leaved.
That's not true at all. Occasionally someone (morpheas) will get frustrated about not being able to play with other GM players, but other then that 85% of our games have one GM on each side unless other team agrees to us playing together.
I think the issue will be resolved with a few games and I look forward to seeing them play out.
Also I'd like to testify that this list and lagwars are a double-edged blade:
On one hand I'm getting a ton more really good, close games between coordinated teams and I have a resource of recommended players
OTOH it sucks so much more when someone is dc'd from a game like that than it does in a random PUG
I might have to go back to committed mediocre PUGs just because I'm less likely to end up
Demigod at its best is sorta like a graceful, elegant swan with one wing ^^
Thund3rfist, there might be many other reasons why the people left or wanted to play a specific game together. There is no one in GM that cares about stats . Please do check my games list, you will see lots of GM playing against each other, Gm playing vs other premade teams and GM playing 2 vs 3.
I didn't start the clan idea or anything but i don't think the clan had the ideology of getting the best players. As ninki mentioned earlier, most of us have been playing together for a long long time. And 1 reason that we play together was that we all had similar skills on the game, and we could get good games.So it ended resulting with several experienced players that plays together forming a clan.
I am excited to see the replays of clan Pacov and other members of GM mentioned above playing to each other. I don't think it would be easy for either side but will be good games for sure.

I've had plenty of pickup games with just 1 member of GM. They're all cool people who don't really give two shits what happens, as long as a game gets going from what I've noticed.
How about GM will make in-clan tournament to spit out two best players and then those two will play against some two Tier 1 players that will decide to go against them, it takes some time and organizing but hey, it's not as lame as "Hear us out, we just made clan and here we are - the best Tier 1 players, wooohooo !"
If we will see a total annihilation then tits or gtfo, if it will be a fair fight. Well, they really deserve it.
And i really laugh out this system that generally its people from Tier 2 "voting" who can join, i mean... come on, it was supposed to be choosen by Tier 2 people to join Tier 1 ?
Anyway, getting into Tier 1 IMHO should be made tourney-like every month. That way first - it would be frikkin exciting, second - i wouldnt look at the list and didn't think "Oh... but... why ? Who decided it ?" instead "Damn, those are really good players in really buggy game".

2nana for t1? Outside of clans and with regards to playing different demigods on all kinds of teams (and without stacking) in my experience 2nana stands out of most players out there.
Anyone else any thoughts? Every game I play with him he turns weaker team into a stronger one. Lost a game to him again yesterday though this time our team was weaker, had a player who was on his 3rd game after 4 month retirment (played decent tho).
Nana played an amazing reg imo anyway. Have a replay if needed will upload, but wanna know what others think of him. In pug games he is prolly the best player I've seen, I'm sure he'd do great in pm as well. Mainly though I like how the guy, at least in my experience, does not stack teams and carries his team very often
If it is all about tier 1 thing you should put renz in there i remember he was pissed when you didn't put him in tier 1

neither have I untill i started running into him raping me in the games I should have obviously won:D. As far as being an all around good player nana is it from my experience with him, even if some demigod specific players may be better with a single dg

I don't think I ever played on his team. Nor are him and myself friends or talk to each other, he just had an impression on me because all of the other good players usually have a team to complement them, his are just random pugs

I just looked up 2nana's stats. It seems like he plays mostly 1v1's to me that isn't good enough for tier 1 list.
It's because he's Korean and he doesn't know much English, so it must be hard for him to ever be able to form a solid team with anyone. I saw him play with Heros though, maybe there's some hope there.
maybe that is it because I did not get much English out of the guy. I only played 3v3s against him, but if he plays many 1v1s, that is more of a reason to be t1. (Edit: that's is since t1 is defined to do well in more variety of games. the guy is above most of the t2 list including me so;))
2nana is pretty good. He does has a good knowledge of map control and harrasment. He only does 1v1s, though. You aren't tier 1 in my book if you don't know how to work with a team. If he played team games, I think there's a chance he'd be tier 1.
If u ever come up with a tier 1.5, be sure to add me to that list-- seeing as I am neither tier 1 nor tier 2.
(and no smarteleck replies about how "I must be lower then hahaha"-- especially since I got owned in like half of my games last night lol)
