Simply stated, the ladder is generally not the best depiction of skill, imho. It GENERALLY tracks who plays the game the most and/or who acts like a jerk by cheating instead of who the most talented players are. That's not to say that everyone high up in the ladder falls into this category. So, if I were to put together my own ladder that indicated skill, I wonder how things would shake out. Obvious hurdles being that many highly skilled individuals don't play each other. So, this requires either the people that don't play together to play more together (my personal choice) or I have to rely from feedback from other players.
Your part if you want to participate
Who do you guys think are the best players in demigod today? I understand that its a team game, but individual players do tend to stand out (and I also know that one great player can't guarantee a win if he has weak teammates, etc). I'm happy to have everyone's feedback. I'm not looking for people to jump in and flame. Just call out who you think is great or who you'd like to see fight. Perhaps we'll get games going. You want to flame and talk crap, your post will probably end up deleted.
You can nominate anyone you want. To keep this from being a list of who likes who, several individuals that are generally considered excellent at the game will moderate the list. If those individuals generally agree, a player can be removed or promoted in the list.
I've decided on 4 categories of players and have provided descriptions of each. Please recommend players along with the category you feel they fit in.
Tier 1 Demigod Players:
Realistically, its my belief that there are 10-30 players in this game that are tier 1 DG players (the best). Those players shine as individuals, generally with a wide variety of characters and do not depend on a specific team or teammate to do well. They can play exceptionally in 1v1, 2v2, 3v3, 4v4, and 5v5. These are players that do not cheat or desync games. These are the people that you want on your team or you want to play against because you know you will get a good game. Any player in this list or any other should currently be an active player.
Tier 2 Demigod Players:
These are players that don't quite currently fit into highest level of players, but are good players all the same. Perhaps they require a specific team or can only do well in specific types of games (1v1, 2v2). The bottom line is that they aren't quite as polished or versatile as the highest level players.
Tier 3 Demigod Players:
A third group (or list) would be everyone else. No need to list individuals...
Demigod Players that Should Be Avoided:
These would be specific individuals that clearly (and I mean clearly) cheat. You don't get on this list unless I (pacov) am VERY convinced that you belong here.
No, but ppl keep portraying him like belier or apika and he's not, I'm not saying he shouldn't be on the list but he shouldn't be on the aviod at all cost list either
I agree with that as well.
actually he seems to exploit more than is seen to naked eye, at 1v1 games he hosts, many desyncs simply dont show up in stats. Think you should him to avoid list for his 1v1s, maybe not games he joins. He was pretty obvious when i played him
You should never play 1v1 games, they're always either cheaters or good players looking to noob stomp

Excuse my english which is not perfect, but Demigod is a team's game. You can see by this link that 3 good pickup can win against a team which is composed of 2 of the 20 first players of your list(in a hard game of 71 minutes)

These 3 ones are good players, it's a fact... but stats says nothing. To conclude, just have fun, it's not a tournament.

AtMa44x - this guy is the most erratic player ever. I played like 6 games with this guy, sometimes he just fed nonstop and other times he was absolutely great..
Yes i'm a gentleman... we can do war in game ( by our Demigod, not with our words), but we can't in real life
I agree. I played a game with him and OmicronyLyrae. He bought totems, then went up and circle-of fire'd both creep waves, repeatedly. He died twice, while Omicron and myself were saying "wtf is he doing!?!?". After the second death, he said the phrase that I've heard all too many times before - "Okay, I'm going to play seriously now".
And then after that we just stomped. He stopped dying and we took down all of their towers, got a few kills, and then their citadel fell.
It was the strangest thing.
I played with an oak player named Timsworth who would just fight until he died in his lane like seven times, and after he died, he always said it was intentional. Surprisingly, my team still won
The only stat that was relevant was that there was a regulas in that game. ;(((((((((((((((

No sorry magnus, I haven't. Effectively you had a reg in your team, but we had a TB... it's approximately the same : 2 low armor DG, but 2 strong DPS DG... and it's with your reg that you had more kills than ours with the snipe.
It's not because you have lost this time that you are bad players. You will maybe win the next match.
So...is this entire list of players just those that play the unofficial vent servers? I haven't played many on that list...cept tuki and I play a mix of Panth and Custom matches.
Well... its still my list... which means I have the final decision on who hits tier 1... and that means that the only people to hit tier 1 will be people that either I have been personally impressed by or whom others I consider highly skilled have nominated themselves. And even then, I probably ask for replays.
In the case of mooks67, I initially dismissed him when he made a post some time ago as no one that's been following the thread vouched for him. When he recently chimed back in and provided some additional info on a recent win, that convinced me to add him to tier 2.

No, I mean, is this just Vent players? I have never even see most of the players on your list in the official matches.
oh - no, vent is not required to be on the list. The majority of the tier 2 guys aren't on the lagwars vent. Everyone in tier 1 except cowbutt does use lagwars at this time, though. You are certainly welcome to jump in and get some games going on lagwars if you like, of course.
I would like to nominate DG-Thundershock. I've played a game with him. He has a solid record, and he's a decent player. Definitely a candidate for Tier 2.
I wanted a good game as reg solely for the replay (which I forgot to save...) and I got it. I'm not arguing that but tb>>>reg any day of the week because tb has 2 interupts while reg has 0.

Oh man the only one who doesn't use vent out of tier 1, I feel warm and fuzzy inside.
On that note I would like to nominate IamKira for tier 1 because kira's TB and UB are disgusting and I need a ventless buddy up there!
Kira's beast is only tier 2 last time I checked. She might have improved, though.
People in GM only started using vent after the clan was established, which was before they were listed as Tier 1.
If you sneak into our vent channel while we're in game, we're silent most of the time. We've played so often with each other we don't need to tell each other what to do, it's pretty much become instinctual. Also, we usually have both teams in the same channel, so neither team has an advantage.
Vent is great for talking about all things other than demigod. The other day we all witnessed a love story.
