Simply stated, the ladder is generally not the best depiction of skill, imho. It GENERALLY tracks who plays the game the most and/or who acts like a jerk by cheating instead of who the most talented players are. That's not to say that everyone high up in the ladder falls into this category. So, if I were to put together my own ladder that indicated skill, I wonder how things would shake out. Obvious hurdles being that many highly skilled individuals don't play each other. So, this requires either the people that don't play together to play more together (my personal choice) or I have to rely from feedback from other players.
Your part if you want to participate
Who do you guys think are the best players in demigod today? I understand that its a team game, but individual players do tend to stand out (and I also know that one great player can't guarantee a win if he has weak teammates, etc). I'm happy to have everyone's feedback. I'm not looking for people to jump in and flame. Just call out who you think is great or who you'd like to see fight. Perhaps we'll get games going. You want to flame and talk crap, your post will probably end up deleted.
You can nominate anyone you want. To keep this from being a list of who likes who, several individuals that are generally considered excellent at the game will moderate the list. If those individuals generally agree, a player can be removed or promoted in the list.
I've decided on 4 categories of players and have provided descriptions of each. Please recommend players along with the category you feel they fit in.
Tier 1 Demigod Players:
Realistically, its my belief that there are 10-30 players in this game that are tier 1 DG players (the best). Those players shine as individuals, generally with a wide variety of characters and do not depend on a specific team or teammate to do well. They can play exceptionally in 1v1, 2v2, 3v3, 4v4, and 5v5. These are players that do not cheat or desync games. These are the people that you want on your team or you want to play against because you know you will get a good game. Any player in this list or any other should currently be an active player.
Tier 2 Demigod Players:
These are players that don't quite currently fit into highest level of players, but are good players all the same. Perhaps they require a specific team or can only do well in specific types of games (1v1, 2v2). The bottom line is that they aren't quite as polished or versatile as the highest level players.
Tier 3 Demigod Players:
A third group (or list) would be everyone else. No need to list individuals...
Demigod Players that Should Be Avoided:
These would be specific individuals that clearly (and I mean clearly) cheat. You don't get on this list unless I (pacov) am VERY convinced that you belong here.

Well 3vs3 worked, but we got a moronic rook teammate and I was tired( past 1 am) so I decided to leave before the 3 min mark. Anyway we did talk so heh.

Just make your own. Premade fight. That's what we wanted. Anyone who can't find teams gets filled in with another team.

Regarding a tournament - we've generated sufficient interest and have almost enough people (IMO) on lagwars vent server at this point to get a small tournament going. I don't think we should be making this a premade tournament, as I still don't think that's going to tell us that much about individual skill. That's an arguable point, to be sure. I tend to think the most interesting thing to do would be to a system where we rotate team members and develop a point system to track. For instance, let's say we have 12 players that will be in our little tournament. We decide that all matches will be 3v3. We mix and match teams based on the possible combinations and play. Granted, this idea results in us a playing a fairly rediculous amount of games (read: I'm guessing you guys will think this idea is idioitic), but it would generate the most exposure to people you don't generally play with and would most likely strengthen our small community.

Heh, even I remember Kevin. We always joked that he must have been playing from the Moon hehe. Another thing that always amused us about Kevin was that he never got any better despite all the games he played.

Oh sorry, allow me to reiterate. I never said he was BAD, he just never got to be passed a certain point in skill despite the 100's(at that time, I quit awhile ago) of games he had played.
I don' t know about putting him on the avoid list, though tbh, I already do avoid him. Not because he cheated or was terrible or anything like that, but in the few games I've played with him, the lag was so over the top that I decided to not try to play with him again.
ok, fellas. I started adding my tier 1 picks to the list. Need to see replay or play with Archon_Saar. Missed my chance to play with lifekatana a few days back. Hope to get a chance again, too.
I basically reviewed the list of tier 2's and bumped up players based on my personal experience and replay's I've watched.
Yes, I'll be on at US times in the weekend, on regular days I need to sleep.

These are the players who I've had extensive experience playing with and believe should be bumped to Tier 1.
Haven't decided on Maccillia or GL_Mithrandir. There are also other players I know are good but haven't seen in a while.
On Archon: He's okay. Tier 2 at best.
Also, Dunno about Cowbutzex as tier1. Tier 2 definietly, but not quite tier 1.
Archon, I´m really disappointed by your behaviour. Your just a stats looking guy, giving people no chance. If I hadn´t played that damn pantheon gen vs ass I would have a bout 65% stats like before the patch. Would that have fit you better?
I´m ashamed by the "good" players of this community and will see that a new game will be found with a kinder community. Sorry, but all are just watching stats. It´s frustrating!
The biggeset issue is that Tier 1, as it stands now, is NOT a "numerically the best 10-30 players". It has several other qualifications that Erska and Sakke just plain don't meet
You are kiding me right? We played only one (1) short game, where we were 2v3 anyway because of raging...is a game enough to make an impression on someone's skill? If so, then you also belong to tier 2 at best, because you didnt impress me either....but then again, that game wasn't even a game...
Plus, half of your list has nothing to do with Tier 1 (including you).
Btw, Trouserssnake's rook wasnt that good, but then again maybe it's not his fault, Levi is not a rook friendly map.
Not at all, I'm basing my decisions on personal experiences. I knew how you play and I also knew renz0 and Mooks (the other team). You are an ok player, but trust me, those 2 are way over your league....no offence. I wouldn't have played you in that setup even if you had 90%.
As said before: that list above means nothing. Just played a 3on3 against shred_demon who is listed above and was really disappointed by his game. Maybe it was because he played UB, but he was killed several times and he even said "gg", though not ending the game, which we finally still lost because comrades thought citadel upgrades aren´t that important

I can't comment on you because its been way to long. As for Magnus333 I always beat him when hes against me so I would have to say tier 2 for him. The rest of your list I agree with.
