Its us again! Here to bring you yet another exciting community topic!!!!
This topic is dedicated to any stories, lore, epic poems, novels, Role Playing...anything your heart desires to share!!!
We are always up for a good read and are excited to see what you all create from DS.
We will be featuring hopefully some neat post in this orginal post every so often. Maybe be something we liked or we though it need attention! So, aim your Ogrov at that writers block and get your fingers typing!
There aren't any rules, but we do have some guidelines to follow so that we all can participate and enjoy ourselves.-There is really no limit on what you post just as long as it is Distant Stars related.-Most members are participating in a single large story with the occasional side story or two. While this thread is certainly not limited to just that story, for the benefit of all readers and participants, please begin your post with how we're supposed to handle it. (Personal Story) (DS RP) (Trader Space) Examples of this can be found all throughout the thread or by looking at this post. https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/372058/page/21/#2596003 This will help us all out by letting us know if you're trying to set yourself up to join the main lore, if you plan on just telling your own story, or if you're just writing lullabies for children to sing before they go to bed.-While we don't expect you to 'Play the game' in your stories, we do ask that you keep any liberties that you take be grounded within the game. For example: Talking about your space marines invading another ship is not something the game covers, so feel free to be inventive on how it would happen. However, carrying point singularity rifles that open up little black holes is beyond the scope of the game and will not be allowed. Soldiers with phasic armor that prevents them from being wounded let alone even being hit, while being relevant to the technology in the game would also not be allowed. The point is to be fair to the other people. We encourage you to ask yourselves, would this work in the game, and how would I feel if someone used this on me? If You feel strongly that it would work and you'd be okay with it being used against you, then by all means, use it. Fantasy posting, dream sequences, and April Fool's postings are of course, immune from this guideline.-We highly encourage you to message other members for help or advice. There is a TeamSpeak channel that is frequently used by the regulars to talk issues out or just shoot the breeze behind the scenes. Everyone is encouraged to take advantage of these resources. Also, 'regulars' may send you messages with suggestions, concerns, or advice. It's nothing personal, so please do not be offended, they're just trying to help keep the lore consistent within these guidelines. If there's any doubt at all about anything, just message one of the people who you see posting a lot. If they don't know, they'll pass your message along to someone who does or tell you who you need to talk to.-It is also highly recommended that you message other RPers before posting anything involving their stuff. If you don't, you're likely going to find all of DS rising up against you.-In an effort to reduce clutter, we're asking that Out Of Character (OOC) commenting be either sent to the individual for whom it is intended by using the private message feature, or take it to another thread. https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/366762 is a thread frequented by many of the lore writers and random comment posting about anything under the sun is highly encouraged there as well in an attempt to get the thread locked. Enjoy.

Some resources that we have spent hours, days, and weeks working on that will help out all participants in this thread. We ask that you look through these to help you better understand the region.-About Distant Stars- https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/372058/page/11/#2532381This post will give you a lot of basic information on what the region of space is like, how to get there, and who is there waiting for you.-Distant Stars Maps- https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/372058/page/23/#2604760This post provides you with a quick look at the region and provides you with a download link where you can get yourself a copy of the posted maps in their unreduced forms. They're very helpful when trying to figure out where to go and who you're likely going to run into when you get there. Maps of individual systems are posted throughout the thread. They're generally posted by the first person to explore the system. If you don't know if a system has been explored or not or want to see a map of a system that has been explored, ask around via PM or TeamSpeak. Someone will point you to the place.-Character Biographies- https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/372058/page/11/#2532380This post is a general collection of the main RP characters whom you will likely have contact with. We ask that all people posting in the main lore post their main character(s) bio as soon as possible so that the rest of us have a little background on who your character is, how they like to fight, where do they come from, and why they're there. Read the existing bios for examples on what we're looking for.

Trader Space/DS personal ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Mellonos (Star) Sun Tzu 20 minutes till TEC Fleets arrive------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ “Commander Oranos all ships are in position and the Refuge ships are moving out but it will take 30 minutes to get them all thou the gate.” Said captain Tiebiris. “Looks like we will have to fight for time then.” Said Oranos. “Yes Sir it would seem so.” Said Tiebiris. “Ok tell the fleet to get ready, and lode all the star base personnel in to trade ship's and send them to go with the refuge ships. We will blow the Star Base's our self with the code's.” Said Oranos. “Yes Sir.” Said Tiebiris.==================================================Alliance of Gardenia Fleet before Battle

One Antorak at wormhole for phase node.==================================================
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------20 minutes later.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- “Sir we detecting ships in phase space!!” Yelled Tiebiris. “Here they come people. Captain open the general comm. All ships this is Fleet Admiral Oranos Commander of the Red Dragon Army. We Must Not Let The Enemy Pass. We have to hold here till the civilian's have escaped. You all know the plan so lest get to it people.” said Oranos As the TEC fleets arrived. The TEC fleets had 64 Capital ships 22 Kol's, 21 Marza's 21 Sova's and 500 Kodiak's, 100 Percheron's, 300 Javelis's, 200 Cobalt's. “Good god they came to kill every one.” Said Tiebiris “Yes yes they did but we're not going to let them now are we?” Said Oranos “Hell no Sir!” Said Tiebiris. “Good now open the comm. All ships Open Fire.” Said Oranos. All the Alliance Ship's fired on the lead Kol and it died in a blaze of flaming death. All ships then launched there Strike craft. The Kortul's started Jamming the enemy strike craft's Weapons. Then the TEC ships opened fire. All ships start to trade fire filling the gravity well with deadly lights. One of the Vulkoras took most of the first wave being critically damaged. “Captain have the Protector and some of the Hoshiko's move over to that Vulkoras. Oh and task the Protector with collecting any escape pods.”Said Oranos. “Yes Sir. It seems our Armor and Shields are better then theirs sir.” Said Tiebiris. “Good We can hold them then. At lest for a time how are the refugee ships doing?” Asked Oranos. “8 more minutes sir.” Said Tiebiris. “Ok A little music then captain and make sure our friend's can hear it.” Oranos Said as he Smiled. “Yes sir” Said Tiebiris. ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pd8vM9SEca4&playnext_from=TL&videos=hw3kEti7Twk ) The TEC ships Started to move in on the Alliance ships. Then the first trap sprung. A Mine field. “EAT MINE'S!!!” Yell's Oranos as the TEC lose almost 100 Kodiak's in the Mine field. As this is happening the Alliance Fighters are ravaging the TEC's Javelis's 55 of them are destroyed. But soon the weight of the TEC's fire took its toll as one of the Kortul's started to die as it belched forth its escape pods. The Alliance ships did damage as well destroying another 25 Kodiak's and 60 Cobalt's. The RDA Warlord and RDA Reaper used there Flak Burst's to Great affect with the remaining Kortul's Jamming TEC strike craft weapons. The Alliance ships did there best to stay out of most TEC ships range fighting a running battle to wards the two remaining RDA Star Base's. It was then the TEC hit the next trap Gravity Mine's. This Stopped almost ½ the TEC ships. As the rest of the TEC went around the Mine's the Alliance ships Reached the Star Base's. Then Kalder came up on the comm. “I have Word the rrrefuge ssshipss are thou itss time.” He said. “Good then we can move to phase two.” Said Oranos as Kalder closed the comm. “Captain open the general comm.” Said Oranos as Tiebiris opened the link. “All ships start Phase two.” Said Oranos. The Alliance ships all turned and headed for the phase lane between the two star base's. The TEC ships saw the Alliance ships turn to run and came after them at full speed. All the Alliance ships got to the lane and started powering there phase drive's. The cruiser's and frigates jumped to phase space as the capital ships where still powering up. It was then that the TEC ships got back in range. “Captain send the Star Base's the code.” Said Oranos. “Yes sir.” Said Tiebiris. Then the star base's that for all the world looked like 2 ½ finished Argonev star base's started to ark and spark just as the rest of the alliance ships jumped to phase space. The star base's detonated from there Safety Override Protocol killing almost all the TEC ships. The frigates and cruisers where all ready filing thou the phase gate when the Alliance capital ships arrived. “Captain Open the comm. All Capital ships move in to position to defend the frigates and cruisers as they escape.” Said Oranos just before 31 TEC capital ships jumped in. The 21 Kol's and 10 of the Marza's had survived. They moved to wards the Alliance ships and opened fire. The RDA Doomsday moved forward and lunched its missile barrage. The Sun Tzu used its ion bolt on one of the TEC Marza's starting to lunch a missile barrage of its own. The TEC Kol's concentrated there fire on one of the Skirantra's. It was damaged from before and did not hold under the intense fire for long. As the Skirantra died the frigates and cruisers finished escaping. “All ships head for the phase gate.” Said Oranos over the comm. The remaining Skirantra used Replicate Forces on a Sova's Missile platform so they could cover the retreat. The ships headed for the gate. As some of them went thou others covered them. One of the Kortul's started to roll and eject escape pods just before it died in a flash of light. One of the Vulkoras tried to use its Disintegration on a Kol, but it was to late the TEC ships turned there full fire on it. The Vulkoras was doomed. It died with a flash that lit space like green fire. Then only 3 Alliance capital ships remained the others having got thou the gate. The RDA Warlord the RDA Sun Tzu and the GAM Kasun ( Antorak). As the Kasun moved to go thou the gate one of the TEC Kol's moved forward past the missile platform's towards the Gate and opened fire on it. The Warlord moved to block some of the Fire. “Good god there trying to trap us here if we lose the gate Fleet Admiral Oranos will be lost.” Said Captain Clancy of the Kasun. “Turn us around we need to stop that Kol.” Said Captain Clancy. “But Sssir we are heavily damaged we wont sssurvive.” Said First officer K'asna. “I know but if any ship is capsulize they will find our people and are we just going to let the Fleet Admiral die to save our self's.” Asked Captain Clancy loudly. “No Oranoss And Kelder ssaved my people frrrom death at the handsss of a Advent fleet. My worrld my clan would be no morrre with out him.” Said K'asna. “And They freed my people from slavery we all owe him one, and if thay get one of our ships all is lost our people hunted down. Open ship comm. All crew this is your captain I can not order you to do this but I ask you all know whats happening. Do we go back to help or run give me your answers please” Said Captain Clancy. “This is engineering we are ready” “This is Weaponsss contrrrol werre good lesst kill them all” The bridge crew turned and said “Lest go kick some ass Sir.” “That's it then we are going in. Open ship to ship comm. This is Clancy we can not go thou Sun Tzu go next.” Said Captain Clancy. The Warlord moved to jump and the Sun Tzu moved as well. “Why are we moving to jump? The Kasun is still here.” Asked Oranos. “ Because the Kasun said it can not get thou now and to move ahead sir” Said Tiebiris. “What that makes no sense. Where going to lose the gate any minute theirs no time.” Said Oranos as the Kasun started to turn to wards the Kol. “ What? Oh no... OPEN THE COMM TO THAT SHIP NOW!!!!!!!!” Screamed Oranos. “ Clancy what are you doing! Stop!” Said Oranos. “I'm sorry sir.” Said Clancy as A data dump filled the comm.” Tell our family's we love them and to remember us with smile's.” He said as new Music filled the comm.( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MOJ91H4mraU&feature=related ) Then the Kasun Rammed into the TEC Kol at full speed. The explosion blinded the sensor's for over a minute. “Oh god.... DAMN IT!” Oranos Said as he hit the arm of his char. “Why Clancy why'd you have to go and do that.” he said sadly When sensor's came back the TEC was far out of position. “Warlord go thou now. Captain move us to go thou fast.” Said Oranos. “Open the General Comm. TEC Force's witness this our Last Act Of Defiance.” Said Oranos just As the Warlord went thou. The Sun Tzu fire's a ion bolt at one of the Kol's as it gos thou the gate. As the TEC ships move in on the Gate a Kostura Cannon Shell hits the phase gate destroying it as well as damaging and disabling all the TEC ships.------------------------------------------------------------------------------At the Ryes Wormhole. Trader Space.------------------------------------------------------------------------------ “Is every one here?” Asked Oranos. “Yess all who lived and thanksss to the Protectorr all our escape podss wherre rrretreved.” Said Kalder. “I I'm sorry about the Kasun.” Said Oranos. “Itssss not yourrr fault Clancy wasss alwaysss hard headed. About some thingss. He and hiss crrew died admirably sssaving othersss. I know itss how he wanted to go when hiss time came. What was in the Data dump?” Said Kalder. “Thank you Kalder, and it was Letter's from the crew to there family's.” Said Oranos sadly. “Well we should go I'll transfer Ryat's payment now so they will let us thou.” Said Oranos. “We need to meet thisss Rrryat ssome time.” Said Kalder. “Yes that would be good.” Said Oranos. “Call up Ryes station. This is Oranos We are here I am transferring payment now please let us thou.” Said Oranos “This is Ryes Station payment received you are clear.” Said the Station commander. “ Thank you” Said Oranos. The Alliance ships all moved to the Wormhole and Jumped to the Distant Stars Sector.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------At the Ryes Wormhole. Distant Stars.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- As all Alliance ships exited the Wormhole they moved in formation to the Jump Lane. “Ryes Station this is Oranos we are here and safe Transferring the Rest of payment now.” Said Oranos. “ This is Ryes Station payment received. Sending Contact info for the Roesh Free Traders” Said the Station commander. “ Thank you if it is ok can we hold at Ryes Star A till we hear Back from the RFT?” Asked Oranos. “Permission Granted Oranos you may hold there but no longer then 24 hour's.” Said the Station commander. “Understood Thank you moving to Ryes Star A now.” Said Oranos as the Ships moved to the lane and started jumping to the star. Once all the Alliance ships reached the star Oranos called up one of the RDA's scout ships. “This is Commander Oranos I am sending you to this Star to make contact with the Roesh Free Traders. A man named Roesh is in Charge I need to speak to him and we need to move out fleet to there star soon. So go talk to them and get us permission to go there to open negotiations.” Said Oranos as he transferred the map info. “Yes Sir!” Said the Captain of the scout ship. “Good now go.” Said Oranos. The scout ship then moved To the edge of the gravity well and jumped to the Finley Star System.

(DS RP)
A communication comes from Lord Ryat, requesting Alexander to meet in orbit of Portage VII, with little doubt in Alexander's mind as to the nature of the meeting. He makes the arrangements to shuttle over to the designated location, ignoring the advise of his second in commander to take additional security. Although Alexander wouldn't trust the Vasari within an inch of his vessels, he was certain that Lord Ryat would hardly allow himself to become entangled in any form of deception. Even if Lord J'rah were to make the attempt at such a foolish plan, his forces were at the mercy of Lord Ryat in many ways. No amount of military production would change that anytime soon. So it happens that Alexander travels to Lord Ryat's flagship without incident and soon finds himself entering a comfortable room where Lord J'rah waits in a chair in the opposite side of a table from Lord Ryat. The admiral takes a seat, primary facing Lord Ryat, but as far from Lord J'rah as possible, creating an obvious triangle of discontentment.
Ryat takes the hard duty of breaking the air by saying, "Glad to see you again, Admiral Draakjacht. As you well know, we're having an issue with territorial claims in this system, which was promised to Lord J'rah when we first entered. It was agreed that you were able to borrow Portage IV for processing humans and as a temporary base of operations. There's a problem now that you have engaged Portage III and chosen to hold it for yourself, when it was suppose to be able to starve on the vine when the pirates run interference at the star. You moved before they did and now here we are. I will make every effort to keep you in loop in the future."
Alexander's tone is hard as he replies, "That would probably be well received in the future, Mr. Arnoldt. As for Portage III, the problem is the insecurity of being surrounded by a potentially hostile force."
J'rah inserts himself into the conversation with his surprisingly competent English, "I understand, I've been in that position before."
Alexander cranes his head towards Lord J'rah, "Well, the tables are turned very nicely now."
J'rah glares at the admiral, but holds his tongue.
"My men are hesitant to leave themselves surrounded," Alexander continues, "especially when we have only one way out and it's through a military planet with a targeting array, an object of human technology and one of a wartime nature.
"I understand your situation, but you put me in position that requires repercussions," J'rah replies. "I have those which I answer to and they are displeased with the situation. They must be satisfied."
"Although I do not necessarily have to answer to my men, I have lost many of them, including many who I knew very well. I am not in as compromising a position myself, but I we lost lives for this and we need to see some gain. If not on our part, on the part of those who we have our loyalties to. I'll be damned if I care about your superiors, much less how many you throw away for nothing," Alexander says with his voice raising as he lays out the last sentence.
J'rah leans forward in his chair and shouts with alien obscenity in a garbled language foreign to human ears. Although not understood for it's details, the facial expression and guttural way it's spat at the admiral carries across it's tone and meaning.
Lord Ryat's voice comes between the two as he extends his arms, "Whoa, let's calm things down and try to understand each other's point of view. We're here to find a common ground, not further the conflict."
Alexander turns to Lord Ryat, extending an open hand and shaking his head, "We're not after planets, we're after security. That's our big concern." J'rah's posture eases, visibly cooling as he settles back into his chair. Alexander continues, the direction of his words moving with each sentence further over until pointed to Lord J'rah, "Our issue is not that we wish to take over the system. Our logistics do not come from a civilian populace, but at the same time I need a staging point for my fleet and can not put the safety of my fleet into the hands of one I do not know. Outside of the words of Mr. Arnoldt, who I have only briefly known and have no loyalties to, I have no reason to trust you."
A silence overtakes the three as they each look about. Alexander's eyes move between the Vasari and the floor, his lips tucking in as they do. Lord Ryat looks at the two, steady in his gaze. The Vasari's eyes appear to float towards the floor, but Alexander never understood their anatomy and so wasn't sure of any meaning behind the movement.
Alexander picks up again, the tone of his voice calmer, "What if we trade? What if we are allowed to secure Portage III and make a very quick movement of the last civilians to the Eras System followed by an immediate evacuation of all Lions from Portage IV."
J'rah grumbles at the suggestion, his shoulders shifting about as he responds, "We can allow you to have one planet, but I need more to settle the tempers of my constituents. Portage III holds far more value to us and we need to know that you will not use the planet against us and that we are not cut from access to the planet or it's abilities to defend against outside invaders. As you said, it is a key location. Perhaps if we were to receive the material production of one of the four crystal mines and have access to the network, this agreement might work in both of our favors. As you say, you are not aiming to control planets in this system."
"We are not looking to control all of the planets in this system," the admiral corrects. "We are in need of logistics and, although we get them from an outside source, we need a point from which to deploy them. Also keep in mind that my men are currently required to move from wherever they may find themselves back to this position in order to resupply and repair. For every missile we launch, that is one less missile we have and we can not make more without at least one planet to do so. The planet, at least one, is of importance to us. We can arrange the crystal, but can you embellish on what you are hoping for with regards to military access, keeping in mind that the gravity well around the star is still open to anyone.
J'rah explains, "If there are any attackers, we need to be able to jump in and assist for our sake as well as yours. This is a matter of self-defense as this is the front line any force would enter through. We need to be able to access the targeting array if our men engage invading forces."
Alexander nods, "Very well, but you will not have full access to the system. If we see you approaching when we are engaged by hostiles, we will automatically allow your men access, but we reserve the right to withhold it at all other times."
J'rah turns his head to the side and lets out a sigh, weakly speaking, "Granted."
"With the surrender of Portage IV and the increased security of gaining Portage III, I believe we have come to an agreement. Mr. Arnoldt, thank you for hosting this talk and please keep me in the loop to help avoid this situation in the future."
Lord Ryat replies, "I will certainly do just that. Again, I apologize for not having resolved this before it became an issue."
Alexander rises from his seat, "As you said, it is nice to see you again. Perhaps next time it will be under better circumstance. I hope you will forgive my quick departure, but I have matters to attend to."
"Completely understood. I wish you a safe journey," Lord Ryat concludes.
Without saying goodbye to Lord J'rah, Alexander heads out of the room, leaving the Vasari at his seat with Lord Ryat. He makes a quick path to the shuttle and has it take off immediately. As the vessel heads out, he dials up the David, receiving Lieutenant Commander Frishman's voice over the speaker, "Did it go well, sir?"
"As well as I expected," came the reply. "We're transferring ownership of Portage IV over to the Vasari in exchange for Portage III. I need you to arrange all Dunovs and Akkans to move civilians to Eras VII. Have we completed vessel production?"
"Yes, sir," Frishman says. "All vessels built and in orbit of Portage III."
"Good," Alexander responds. "Blow the frigate factory for security reasons, but you can leave the trade port and mining facilities for the Vasari to have. In the meantime, begin constructing an Argonev facing towards the star, a frigate and capital factory, and a trade port."
Frishman asks, "I assume the Argonev is for defensive purposes?"
"You have it. Outfit her with armor, guns, and gunships."
"Yes, sir," Frishman says.
"And have the Envoy Cruiser prepared for a long journey when I get there," Alexander concludes.

(DS / Personal) A scout ship jumps into the system. Immediately, the starbases begin to decipher as much data as they can from their scans before it has a chance to move. "We have no information on their marking, sir." a sensor officer reports to her commander. "Nothing in the records at all?" he asks. "No sir, nothing." she replies. "Set condition yellow until we figure out more." he orders. The scout remains in position until finally a transmission is picked up. "Red Dragon Army scout requesting to speak to Roesh of the Roesh Free Traders, please respond." "They must be cycling frequencies until they find one that works." The sensor officer reports. "Okay. Let's answer them then. Comms, halt all trade traffic and send them the standard greeting." "Aye sir." the comms officer replies. "This is Starbase Kushva, welcome to the Finley System. What is the nature of your visit, Red Dragon Army scout?" "We are new to this region and were hoping you could help us. We were given information from your old systems about where to find you. Our leader is requesting an audience with your leader." the scout states. "Stand by Red Dragon Army scout, we're relaying your message." the comms officer on Starbase Kushva replies. Still on the Savannah moon over Finley 4, Roesh is once again interrupted. "Sorry to bother you sir, we have some new guests requesting to speak with you." the station commander says. "New guests as in who?" Roesh asks. "Someone new to the region calling themselves the Red Dragon Army. We have no information on them yet, but it seems they got our name from the old Hub. They sent a scout ahead." "Contact our old networks to see what they know about this group and tell the scout to have their commanding officer come here, one ship only, their choice which one, and hold at the star for further instructions." "Yes sir." "Comms, contact the Angarsk, Orlov, and Dubovka, and tell them to start contacting the old Hub and get information on these guys. Then start doing that yourselves." The station's comms officers all begin to relay messages back and forth and busy themselves with their new task. "Red Dragon Army scout, this is the station commander on the Kushva, inform your commanding officer that we're agreeing to a meeting and he or she is to return here with one ship of your choice and further instructions will be given upon arrival." The RDA scout turns around and jumps from the system once receiving the message. "Henry, we've got new arrivals to the region looking for our help." Roesh states. "That's good news." he replies. "Maybe, we don't have any info on them yet." "Well, I'm an optimist so I'll take this to be a good thing." "Sorry Casey, it looks like we're going to have to leave the tests up to you. We'll meet you back at Liam in a little while." "Okay. I'll have the early results put into a report and have it waiting." Casey says. "Thanks." Roesh says as he and Henry walk away and head for the starbases in orbit of the star. Oranos' scout returns and relays the message to him. Not having any other choice he orders his flagship, an Akkan class Battlecruiser called the Sun Tzu, to head for Finley by itself. Roesh and Henry arrive at the starbase Dubovka and prepare for their guest's arrival. Tim arrives shortly after them and helps with the set up while updating them on the conversation that Captain Powley had with High Paragon Carbon. Oranos arrives sooner then they expected so Tim rushes off to the hanger bay to escort him to the meeting personally.
"RDA ship Sun Tzu with Commander Oranos as requested and awaiting further instructions." they broadcast to the starbases. "RDA Sun Tzu, this is the Dubovka, we're updating your system information to display the names of our starbases here. Please pull alongside and dock with the Dubovka at your convenience." The Sun Tzu moves into position as instructed and docking clamps latch onto it and pull it into it's final position. A concourse is extended and once in place, the hatch on the Sun Tzu opens up. Oranos and his senior staff including Vallin, his chief of R&D, exit the ship and are greeted by Tim and the station's senior staff. While they're busy exchanging pleasantries, another staff member delivers a few reports to Roesh and Henry informing them of all of the RDA's recent exploits back in trader space and as much information as could be dug up in a short amount of time. They read up as much of it as they can until Tim enters the room followed by everyone else. Roesh tosses Tim one of the packets as he takes his seat at the table while he and Henry introduce themselves. After the formalities are completed they all sit down. "So what brings you here Red Dragon Army?" Roesh asks. "We're looking for a new home, and we were hoping you could help us out with that." Oranos answers. "Well, we don't have much in place yet since we've been busy with other projects but I guess we could come to some sort of an agreement on housing you for awhile." "We're more interested in looking for a permanent place to stay and we wouldn't want to overburden you with our presence. We're told that you recently made the move here..." "We did." Henry interrupts. Oranos continues, "We assume you took the time to look around before picking here to start over at. All I'm asking is for a bit of information on some places you looked at and what made you decide on here, rather then there." "Well, let's see..." Roesh says as he stands up and walks over to a terminal that controls all of the screens in the room. "There were a number of places we looked at." he says as he begins to put up each system on the screens. "Ultimately we chose here because it suited our needs best." "What was wrong with the other systems?" "Nothing per say... Each system has it's own little quirks and we had to evaluate our ability to adjust to those." "You seem reluctant to tell us anything..." "Well we are a business after all." Henry states. "I see, so you want money." Oranos says. "The star charts for the region we will provide to you for free, scouting information, if you want our information, you will have to compensate us for it." Roesh says. "My fleet had to expend resources to build up a map of the area, you would have to do the same. Buying it off of us is considerably less costly then jumping into the unknown, and helps us recoup those expenditures." Tim adds. "Point taken." Oranos says. He and his staff begin to talk to themselves for a bit until Tim reads something in the report and laughs. "I'm sorry, please excuse me." he says as he stands up and exits the room. Oranos says, "We've decided to buy the information off of you if the price is reasonable." "It always is." Henry states as he slides a paper across the table with a number on it. Oranos looks at the number while a few of his staff lean over to look at it as well. "I agree. 3000 credits is reasonable." he says. Tim walks back into the room and takes his seat at the table again. Roesh continues and brings up the scout data on each system and displays the videos on the screens. After an hour of discussion over the pros and cons of each system, Oranos decides to ask for help on another problem. He says, "The information is good, but it leads us to another problem. We need a place to park our population transports while our military secures some planets for us." "We can accommodate." Henry says. "Yeah, for a price, I know... We won't be putting any kind of a strain on your resources, we just need an out of the way place to orbit." "How many ships are we talking?" Tim asks. "958 colony ships." Oranos answer. "Okay..." Tim says. Henry and Roesh talk it over for a bit between themselves before Henry answers, "50 credits per ship per day. Any military ship that also stays is 200 credits per day. First payment up front." "Why the cost difference?" Oranos asks. "Because we just met, and you bringing military ships into our system means that we need to pull our own ships to make sure nothing happens." Roesh answers. "I don't anticipate leaving any military ships here as long as you can agree to keep their presence as discrete as possible." "That's not much of an issue. If anyone comes here, they'll be looking for us, not you." "Very well. We'll be heading out then. When we get back to our ship, we'll have payment sent, and you can expect our ships to be arriving shortly." "Great." Henry says as everyone at the table stands up and congregates by the door to exchange handshakes. Oranos and his staff are walked back to their ship by Tim as Roesh and Henry head to the control room. As promised, once Oranos and his men boarded, the funds were authorized for transfer. The concourse is retracted and the clamps are released allowing the Sun Tzu to return to the edge of the star's grav well and jump away. Minutes later, colony ship after colony ship begin to arrive. Their system charts are updated with a route to Finley 3 where they can hide out on the backside of the gas giant out of sight from the phase lanes entering the well. Roesh contacts Casey and has her order her ships that are entering the well to service the resource asteroids to keep watch over the colony ships to make sure nothing happens to them while they're parked in low orbit. After watching the procession of ships, Tim head's back to the Military moon, and Roesh and Henry head to Asteroid Liam to continue observing the nanite tests.
"Well that went better than expected," Lord Ryat said as he and Lord J'rah sat in his office. "Truth," agreed Lord J'rah, "was worried that I would have to lose both planets. That would have caused issues, this will settle a lot for me." "Well now that we got that settled," Lord Ryat commented as he got up and fixed himself a scotch with butter schnapps, "What other matters do we have to deal with?" "None that I am aware of," Lord J'rah replied, "Our Marauder vessel Kradja is ready for your use in Kyrene, and my fleet will almost be collected in Portage VII. I will be heading to see Roesh Free Trader's space to pay him a visit. I did not get to see him last time I visited and I like to make it a point to visit my allies face to face." "Okay, I still have to get with Carbon and Xenon with attack plan details," Lord Ryat said. Then with lifting his glass in salute he said, "To success in Kyrene." Lord J'rah bowed his head in response, "To success in Kyrene."
Kradja was a venerable vessel, almost as old as J'kartha. So when Lord Vilk boarded the vessel it was with great respect. And great saddness. The captain of this fine vessel was a high ranking member of the clan that had captained this vessel through it's entire life and had his own fine reputation. He also, sadly, looked eager for his next mission which involved helping the humans in their attack on Kyrene. "Welcome my lord," the captain said as Lord Vilk exited the shuttle onto the bay area, "What brings you around our fine vessel?" "Merely a minor business detail with your engineering officer," Lord Vilk responded, "It's personal and I did not wish to use the comm lines for something of this nature." "No problem my lord," the captain said, "If there is anything you need please feel free to ask." "I will do so thanks," Lord Vilk said, then hurried off to the engineering officer's quarters. Once there he surprised the officer with his entrance. "My lord?" exclaimed the Vasari engineer as he stood up from his work quickly, "I wasn't aware you were coming, I would have-" "Do not worry about such things," Lord Vilk said hurriedly, cutting off the other, "I have a proposition for you that would interest you." "I would be-" the engineer began. "How would you like to end your clans debt to my clan and raise your ranking?" Lord Vilk said. "It would be an honor my lord," he responded, "not that I don't love my job here on this fine vessel." he made gestures about the room to leave no doubt that he loved the ship, "But I know my younglings would love to command a vessel." "Excellent," Lord Vilk said, "Then if shall be done, but first I will need you to do one last job for me." "Name if my lord." "You are aware of this vessels mission, yes?" Lord Vilk began. The engineer gave his response. "Good, now here is what I want you to do." And Lord Vilk told the chief engineer of Kradja what the plan was. The engineer was shocked at the details but also understood the need. When Lord Vilk was done the engineer merely stated. "It will be as you say my lord, for the glory of the Vasari!" "Excellent," Lord Vilk said, "And when I reside in the highest seat of the Council your clan shall be along side me and your sacrifice shall be remembered."
Wow, once again you guys have been busy. But with a job paying bills, kids or whatever it is,(real life). One can get behind very quickly.
@Teal
Your stories, the way you describe them them in rich detail is just incredible. The story line with the upcoming battle sounds great and unfortunately the time line wont jab with mine.
In the lore established, the TEC were fighting the Vasari for ten years when the Advent came a calling. Entrenchment for another 10 years and finally Diplomacy (present time) 5 years later, a total of 25 years. My story line is set in-between 5 years after the Vasari came in and before the Advent showed up. At this time they were just sensor ghost and tall tells from merchant ships.
Had it took place then, I've could have segue my character in since he was a fighter jock before he came a ship captain. If time permits, would like to contribute something, even if just a minor like interstellar transmission relays from the onslaught.

Alexander enters the bridge of the David, Frishman leaving the captain's chair and returning to tactical. As the admiral approaches his seat, he begins, "Have Lieutenant Batson join the crew of the Envoy Cruiser and take with him schematics regarding our weapon systems and the targeting computers that the Argonevs use. Ensign, do you have a data pad?"
While the ensign retreives a pd for the admiral, he continues, "I have a special project in mind for the engineers at Finley. Meanwhile, I need to address some of our resource issues."
The data pad is handed to Alexander and he begins to fill it with information as Frishman asks, "Lieutenant Batson isn't the best diplomat, sir. In fact, he's an engineer. Why send him?"
Alexander's eyes continue to remain focused on the pad, "I need someone who can watch over the bigger project I'm giving to the Roesh Free Traders. The rest are just details and I'm sure they can be sorted out without too much trouble." He finishes with the pad and signals for another ensign to arrive at his side, "See that this gets to Batson before he leaves."
The ensign leaves the bridge and Frishman says, "Is any of this regarding our current situation with J'rah?"
"Yes and no," Alexander replies. "The larger project is just something I've been pondering. The other issues are indeed linked, but nothing too terribly disturbing. Just business as usual. Can I possibly get some tea?"
"No, sir."
Alexander looks over to Frishman, "What?"
"We're out of tea," Frishman informs. "Our resource production wasn't enough to requisition any tea, so I had to cut it from our supply order."
"Oh," Alexander's eyebrows lift. "Well, I guess a glass of water will do."
"Yes, sir."
