Its us again! Here to bring you yet another exciting community topic!!!!
This topic is dedicated to any stories, lore, epic poems, novels, Role Playing...anything your heart desires to share!!!
We are always up for a good read and are excited to see what you all create from DS.
We will be featuring hopefully some neat post in this orginal post every so often. Maybe be something we liked or we though it need attention! So, aim your Ogrov at that writers block and get your fingers typing!
There aren't any rules, but we do have some guidelines to follow so that we all can participate and enjoy ourselves.-There is really no limit on what you post just as long as it is Distant Stars related.-Most members are participating in a single large story with the occasional side story or two. While this thread is certainly not limited to just that story, for the benefit of all readers and participants, please begin your post with how we're supposed to handle it. (Personal Story) (DS RP) (Trader Space) Examples of this can be found all throughout the thread or by looking at this post. https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/372058/page/21/#2596003 This will help us all out by letting us know if you're trying to set yourself up to join the main lore, if you plan on just telling your own story, or if you're just writing lullabies for children to sing before they go to bed.-While we don't expect you to 'Play the game' in your stories, we do ask that you keep any liberties that you take be grounded within the game. For example: Talking about your space marines invading another ship is not something the game covers, so feel free to be inventive on how it would happen. However, carrying point singularity rifles that open up little black holes is beyond the scope of the game and will not be allowed. Soldiers with phasic armor that prevents them from being wounded let alone even being hit, while being relevant to the technology in the game would also not be allowed. The point is to be fair to the other people. We encourage you to ask yourselves, would this work in the game, and how would I feel if someone used this on me? If You feel strongly that it would work and you'd be okay with it being used against you, then by all means, use it. Fantasy posting, dream sequences, and April Fool's postings are of course, immune from this guideline.-We highly encourage you to message other members for help or advice. There is a TeamSpeak channel that is frequently used by the regulars to talk issues out or just shoot the breeze behind the scenes. Everyone is encouraged to take advantage of these resources. Also, 'regulars' may send you messages with suggestions, concerns, or advice. It's nothing personal, so please do not be offended, they're just trying to help keep the lore consistent within these guidelines. If there's any doubt at all about anything, just message one of the people who you see posting a lot. If they don't know, they'll pass your message along to someone who does or tell you who you need to talk to.-It is also highly recommended that you message other RPers before posting anything involving their stuff. If you don't, you're likely going to find all of DS rising up against you.-In an effort to reduce clutter, we're asking that Out Of Character (OOC) commenting be either sent to the individual for whom it is intended by using the private message feature, or take it to another thread. https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/366762 is a thread frequented by many of the lore writers and random comment posting about anything under the sun is highly encouraged there as well in an attempt to get the thread locked. Enjoy.

Some resources that we have spent hours, days, and weeks working on that will help out all participants in this thread. We ask that you look through these to help you better understand the region.-About Distant Stars- https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/372058/page/11/#2532381This post will give you a lot of basic information on what the region of space is like, how to get there, and who is there waiting for you.-Distant Stars Maps- https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/372058/page/23/#2604760This post provides you with a quick look at the region and provides you with a download link where you can get yourself a copy of the posted maps in their unreduced forms. They're very helpful when trying to figure out where to go and who you're likely going to run into when you get there. Maps of individual systems are posted throughout the thread. They're generally posted by the first person to explore the system. If you don't know if a system has been explored or not or want to see a map of a system that has been explored, ask around via PM or TeamSpeak. Someone will point you to the place.-Character Biographies- https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/372058/page/11/#2532380This post is a general collection of the main RP characters whom you will likely have contact with. We ask that all people posting in the main lore post their main character(s) bio as soon as possible so that the rest of us have a little background on who your character is, how they like to fight, where do they come from, and why they're there. Read the existing bios for examples on what we're looking for.

“Commander the ships are here and ready to move on your order.” Said Shara.
“Thank you Shara iell be going on board the Wyvern (Sova) prepare the fleet.” Said Oranos with a simile.
“Sir?” Said Shara with a confused look.
“Yes the Wyvern. I know the Sun Tzu (Akkan) is our flag ship but your going to command it and the fleet.” Said Oranos.
“What! Me?” Said Shara with a shocked look.
“Yes you, your my second in Command. In this new sector, I'm not all we's going to be everywhere a battle is. We wont have the Home Fleet to watch our backs for us. Your going to have to do that as I fight. That will mean commanding the fleet if I'm not there, and protecting any worlds we Colonize. So today your in charge of the battle iell be there on the Wyvern. If things go very bad iell step in but other wise your in charge. Got it.” Said Oranos.
“Yes Sir!” Shara said as she snapped to atenchin.
“Good now you know what to do iell be on the Wyvern. When your ready move us out. But don't forget RDA trdison.” Said Oranos as he smiled.
“Yes Sir. I wont forget. Said Shara.
“Good good, now iell be going.” Oranos said as he moshined for one of the Midshipman to come over. “Midshipman get a massage to Vallin to come on board the Wyvern.” Said Oranos.
“Yes Sir!” Said the Midshipman.

“Yes Admiral.” Said Captain Tiebiris.
“Oh and captain a little music please.” Said Shara.
“Of course.” Said Tiebiris as he hit the comm button. “All ships enter formation and move out.”Said Tiebiris as he leaned over and hit another button and music fulled the general comm channel. ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PVXt1g6Vr-o&NR=1 )

I have yet to claim anything myself and I don't think I will any time soon. Speaking of the Advent fleet at Kyrene, I had ideas on some way of bringing in the Illumina Faction my guy originates from and either joining forces or causing a civil war within the Advents. Either way, those are long away story plots that require a lot of development prior.
Oh yes, don't forget about that sneaky mystery ship "The Linux". I have some more mysterious plans about their mysterious dealings with mysterious people.....very mysterious indeed.
Ok, thanks all.
I will get to work and get an story post soon.
In the meanitime, here is the basic layout of the Sivtherium, and their ship.

That will work. I am reserving Proveva for my initial incursion to the DS system.
All sensors will be picking up a disturbance in phase space around this sun for the next few days....
What does it mean? Will there be a fleet there to investigate, or will the phasic disturbances keep people away?

The star of Proveva is a Class B Blue Giant. Its closest neighbor is the Russundova Nebula - "close" proximity. Its next neighbor could be the Mercevica Nebula - "Medium" proximity. It can have one other star in the constellation, organized into a pyramid prism. You could call it the Prism constellation.
I'm building the system now... and will post when I get the constellation done.
EDIT: Actually a BLUE giant would be best for the high temp of the overall system... thanks.
(DS LORE)
The gravitational distortions continue to grow near the edge of phase space around the Proveva system. Could this simply be astronomical anomaly from the nearby nebula, or something else?
A Vasari scout detects a strange frequency to the distortion, and the captain decides to alert the Vasari command in the sector. The navigator then phases out near the sun and continues its scans...
... and now the continuation of the Battle of Portage III
The Enforcer scrapes by two Kodiaks as it charges through the lines. A small leak of plasma between two of its ventral plates causes its engines to billow. The wave beams fire from the prow of the vessel, striking the hull of another cruiser it narrowly avoids impacting. A hail of fire pursues the Vasari cruiser after it passes, piercing its hull and causing a great bloom of smoke to pour forth from the wound, trailing behind the vessel after. The vessel begins to waver side to side, coming within a few yards of several vessels, but always turning towards safety, even if only at the last moment. A missile, as if out of nowhere, plows into the side of the craft, tearing into the hull and causing it to fall into a spin, reeling in a spiral. The vessel then veers through a volley of fire intended for a different target, ripping large chunks from it, most of which fly off to litter the battlefield, but the larger portion of the prow continues forward towards the broadside of a Kol. The fragment passes through the weak shielding, the surface scorching as it enters, and impacts the hull with a violent crash.
The impact roars across the bridge and a panel sparks in response. The lights flicker, going out for a moment before recovering. Alexander looks to Frishman, "Did something hit us?"
Karlin raises his voice, "That wasn't a weapon's impact."
Frishman replies, "No, that was something else. We have hull breaches on deck seven across sections twenty-five through twenty-seven."
Alexander orders, "Evacuate those areas and have damage control contain the situation. Have we taken care of those Enforcers yet?"
"No, sir, we still have a few running around. Looks like the Subverters and Overseers are making another sweep," Frishman replies.
"Lieutenant, are those Marzas ready with another barrage?"
"No, sir, they need another minute to finish preparing the payloads," Gross says.
"Sir, the last Marauder is down," Frishman interrupts.
"Bring the ends in tighter. We need to press those Devastators into panic."
The flanking forces extend their formations, bringing their fire to bear on all sides of the Vasari capital vessels. One of the Devastators, suffering damage to its inner infrastructure, begins to roll without control, the weapons damage spreading across the surface. A wave of Subverters and Overseers pass by, some caught in the spread of ammunition, and begin to target TEC vessels with their disruption abilities. Within a moment the wave approaches its apex, the opposing wave in sight and lining up for the pass.
"Sir, the vessels are about to make a pass," Frishman calls out.
Alexander turns towards communications, "Do we have those missiles ready?"
"Barrages are ready, sir," Gross replies.
"Open fire."
The three Marzas open their ports and release fiery blossoms, each spreading out amongst the enemy vessels and creating bright flashes of light upon impact. The Subverters and Overseers take the missiles on the nose, shredding into splinters as their numbers bear the brunt of the force. The critically damaged Devastator too takes several of the missiles and collapses under the pressure. The framework stretches and warps before the reactor breaches and envelops the vessel in light and then in darkness. With the point forces of the Vasari eliminated, the frontal assault moves forward, hugging tightly enough against the remaining Devastators to cause the Desolators to shift about, attempting to free themselves for a potential escape. The Orkulus on the rear of the Vasari forces decides against the panic of its comrades and shifts its cumbersome form towards the weaker Vasari front, homing in on a Kol and engaging it with the full force of it's tendrils.
"Sir, the Samuel is taking heavy damage," Frishman alerts. "Support vessels have been subdued, but the Orkulus is taking up formation."
"Where the hell is Red Fleet?"
As the last word leaves his lips, the projector lights up with green signals along the edge of the gravity well. The blue shards of light leave as Red Fleet moves forward, the Kols forming a circular wall and the Sovas trailing behind in formation around the Akkan. They make a straight path across space, heading directly for the center of the Vasari numbers. As they pass a couple of missile platforms, they fire their autocannons, quickly reducing the minimally armored emplacements to debris. At the sight of such an event, the Vasari Transporters turn away from the immediate battle, making a path towards the far edge of the gravity well. Although they attempt to make space, they pass within range of Red Fleet, receiving fire as they pass. Although the fleet can not produce enough fire to cover all of the targets, they do succeed in bringing down a great number of the alien vessels. Those that do pass do not make it unscathed as bombers leave the Sovas to intercept the escort carriers. As Red Fleet closes in on the rear, the Orkulus continues to press its attack on Green Fleet's flank.
"Sir, the Samuel is going down," Frishman calls out before a large disruption in sensors signals the demise of the vessel. "Sir, the Skirantras are coming in."
The Vasari carriers rush forward past their line and into the center of the TEC formation. As they do, the Desolators panic, breaking formation and heading straight towards Red Fleet's angle of approach. The five vessels do not anticipate the equal number of Kols using their rail guns, dropping the vessel's ability to flee. With them immobilized, the powerful prow weapons of the Kols dig into their enemies. By the time engines are restored, their shields are peeled away and the Vasari begin to shed fragments of armor. Red Fleet passes close, continuing to rip at the Desolators which flee with minimal resistance. Although they do pass the Red Fleet, only two of the vessels manage to make it out of weapons range, the others being cut down by the aft turrets. Red Fleet now sits snug against the rear of the Vasari formation, shifting their focus to the rear of the Orkulus.
The Skirantras arrive at their target positions, surrounding one of the -Ue_ Dunovs on two sides. With the antimatter reserves of its neighbors still under strain, the two are able to lay down a devastating hail of fire on the support battlecruiser. The surrounding Dunovs focus their fire in on the two, enveloping them in an aura of burning light. The transfer of fire pours inward, and the damage previously inflicted on the Dunov allows the Vasari to make a great deal of headway. The three vessels buckle at the same time, each attempting to release survivors despite the walls of ammunition bringing down the chance of survival to near nil. The flashes of light occur within fractions of a second of one another, causing a sensor blackout across both fleets. When sensors return, a flood of data overwhelms the tactical officers. One of the fleeing Desolators is adrift due to the efforts of the bomber squadrons, whereas the nearly dozen Transporters have fled the gravity well. One of the Devastators, panicked by the situation and blind from the explosions, has veered into a neighboring Devastator. Although neither one has yet to collapse despite the trauma, the newly aware TEC vessels on their front take full advantage of the scenario, feeding hot metal and rippling energy into the fray.
Captain Aronoff leads the Red Fleet towards the Orkulus and shuts it down with an ion bolt from the Eve. With the station left defenseless, the nearby Kols break formation to face their most powerful weapons on the structure and unleash a holy hell of blazing fire. The autocannons and beam weapons compile to make short work of the shielding before the order is given to fire railguns, each blast plowing past the armor and causing critical hits to the infrastructure. Two of the blasts each succeed in separating a part of the tendrils, reducing the total capability of the station.
Frishman watches as the cruisers and frigates of the -Ue_ flood forth and informs the admiral, "Sir, Halogen Braken is sending his cruisers in."
Alexander nods, "Let him. Have all of our men go weapons free."
The -Ue_ vessels swarm, creating a static of metal approaching the remaining Devastators. Their fire is brief as the realization strikes that any resistance will be made in vain. Instead, they begin to turn away from the wave, only two of the remaining making a full about face. The smaller vessels continue to sweep back and forth, making passes at the capital vessels while the larger TEC vessels encroach upon the wounded Orkulus. Alexander watches as the numbers close in on the screens and orders, "Have all ships focus their fire on this location." He generates an order on the panel of his chair.
Frishman receives it and replies, "Yes, sir."
Every ship complies, the weapons fire radiating from all directions, impacting the energy stream between the Orkulus' main body and lower section. It ebbs and flows in response before failing against the onslaught. The two ends of the stream explode, sending the lower portion into a drift momentarily before the large arrays embedded in the sphere blow out, the metal and glass soon followed by a brilliant light. The top portion spins out of control, carved into sections by enemy fire until satisfaction of their ruin has been had.
The crowd of cruisers manage to subdue another Devastator as it attempts to flee, but the last approaches the edge of the gravity without critical damage. To the benefit of the TEC, the damaged Desolator from a short time ago sits on the edge of the gravity well, it's attempt to make a phase jump having disabled its already unstable engines. Realizing the Devastator is bound to escape, the cruisers opt to focus on the Desolator, ripping it into pieces while the other jumps to the star.
"Sir, a Devastator and nearly a dozen Transporters have made it to the star," Frishman says.
"Forget them. I don't think they'll pose much of a concern. Have our men sweep up the last of the defensive structures that can fight back. I want the Kols to hit the primary military installations from orbit, but leave the targeting array and all adjacent buildings. J'rah can secure logistics and planetside at his expense. All other vessels are on rescue detail," Alexander answers.
"Yes, sir," Frishman replies.
Lieutenant Gross speaks up, "Sir, Captain Zuckermann requests to have you aboard the Hagar when you're available."
Alexander's eyebrows narrow before replying, "Alright, let him know I'll be there in an hour. In the meantime, we need to assess the damage and give Halogen Braken my thanks. I'll have to speak with him a little later."
The support capitals maintain their positions, whatever they might be, to best facilitate rescue operations with little fear of impacting survivors. The Kols move towards the planet, cutting down a hangar bay and several missile platforms on their way to decimate selected targets on the planet with their cluster warheads. The light of the blasts flash like celebrations of grand days gone by. Days equally bloody and equally glorious.

The hatched hissed, as Carbon took of his helumt. Flipping the last the control switches on the panel off as the fighter engine powered down. As the cockpit finally opened all the way Carbon climbed down.
"HA HA Carbon!" a voiced boomed over the noise in the docking bay. "Its been to long!" Carbon walked towards a large man. The man was wearing the usual green and tan -Ue_ unifrom.
"Gold, looking good as ever." Carbon and Gold clasped each others hand and gave a small pat on the back. "Tell me, you always keep things this busy here?" Carbon said as he point back outside the bay.
"Ha, this is just normal. Wait till you see the trade ships get here from Proximus." Gold said cheerfuly as he and Carbon walked through the docking bay. "Come, let us get somewhere more proper." Gold motioned to a door. Carbon grinned as they head for the door.
"Mmmhhh...your reports didnt say anything about that." Gold nodded.
"Well, Im..." Carbon leaned in. "..Im not quite sure what they know." he said looking around the bar."Blah!" Gold shouted, as he slamed his glass on the table. "They no nothing. Im sure Xenon has taken....liberties...as to make sure." Gold laughed. " As have I, I have Manardana XI and III full. Let them cut you off! HA!"
Carbon let out a small laugh then cleared his though, "Well here the thing, your gonna be on your own here for a bit. I'll be sending Mercury your way. Yall need to keep the fort lock tightly. I know its been...hard to say the least. Im not sure who else we can count on yet."
Gold held up his hand. "Two more." he said to the bartender. Looking down as Carbon finished speaking. Nodded then said , "My friend, I understand. I also read the reports." The bartender set two glasses in front of the men. Both Carbon and Gold nodded their thanks. "I will do what you have always have asked of me. " Gold put his hand on Carbon shoulder."Yeah yeah, I had to say it...." Carbon started to speak.
"No." Gold interupted as he drank the last of his drink. Got up out of the chair. Looking at the exit. "No need for those things anymore not after Anitgue." Gold smiled. "With that friend. I need to go look busy. Hahaha...are you staying long?"Carbon looking down at the table, "No, Im needed in Proximus." Carbon gave a small chuckle.
Gold laughed, "Tell them I said hi.."he gave Carbon a pat on the back. "...give'em hell." he said as he walked out of the bar. Carbon watched him leave. Slammed down he drink, and got up to leave.
"...was on hand also at todays press conference. Though she didnt speak, this is the first sign of any Board member in months following the terroirst attacks..."
Carbon turned as the the Holoprojector in the corner cought his attention, "Hey, hey...can you turn it up?!" he shouted to the bartender.

Sorry people, I couldn't make it. Being in a different time zone to most of the world (except west africa I think) is pretty annoying.
Wow you guys have been busy while I was away, first welcome to Red Dragon and SivCorp to the lore...
@SivCorp
Like minds think a lot. Since the story I'm weaving takes place 20 years before the current events going on now, we basically came up with the same ideas. Gonna have to PM you and learn the details and compare with what I have in mind. Also, your ship design is straight bad ass.
Got backed logged and gonna drop a large post today on the crew of the Minoes...Once again guys, welcome to Distant Stars....Bison....
(DS RP)
Alexander finishes the last of his coordinating efforts with Frishman and begins for the door to exit the bridge when a lieutenant catches his attention, "Sir, we have the casualty list compiled."
Alexander pauses in place, "What about Neuhaus and Sandler?"
"Neuhaus was recovered," the lieutenant replies, "but Sandler wasn't aboard the Samuel's lifepods." He hands a datapad over to Alexander, who takes it in hand and begins to scroll through it.
His brow narrows as the names move along, a list totaling five thousand seventy eight. It takes only a moment for him to realize that all of the names he's passed constitutes a small fraction of the scroll bar. He hands the datapad back to the lieutenant, "Hold onto this until I get back."
"Yes, sir," the officer replies before Alexander leaves the bridge for his shuttle to the Hagar.
A short time later, Alexander sits at a large table located in one of the observation decks aboard the Hagar. He taps his fingers on the table, a quick and repeated pattern to whittle away the time and set pace for his thoughts while waiting. He stares out into the stars, but half of them are anything but that. Rescue operations continue, some of the little pin pricks of light being engine flares while others being pieces of metal, reflecting light from the nearby sun. As the stars dance to and fro, he continues to wait for Captain Zuckermann to arrive. When a door opens across the room, he rises from his seat and turns to face it. Zuckermann walks into the room without facing Alexander. As soon as he sees his face, Alexander smiles, "Richard, I..."
Immediately behind Zuckermann comes the other captains of the fleet. Ermler, Hein, Jacobi, and so on, with each captain that enters removing more and more of the smile across Alexander's face. Among them is Captain Neuhaus, looking worn from his ordeal, but without any major injuries. Part way through the line of men piling into the room comes Levin, who turns towards Alexander, looking him straight in the eye as he approaches. When Levin reaches within earshot of a whisper, Alexander asks, "What's going on here?"
Levin adjusts the sling around his arm, "I couldn't begin to tell you. I was told to show up and met the rest on the way."
Alexander nods his head and Levin takes a seat at the table next to where the admiral was. The other captains settle in, the number being greater than the number of chairs, leaving a row of officers against the wall across from Alexander.
"So, is this a mutiny?"
Captain Zuckermann, sitting close to the center of the group, replies, "No, sir, but the other officers and I have been talking about the direction we've been going in lately. We've lost a great number of men and Captain Sandler today, all in the name of the Vasari."
"I'm not excited about it either," Alexander says.
"What's more," Zuckermann continues, "is that we're giving them a military planet, the only lane to the star, and hemming in our supply line to an ally we can't trust. Anytime they choose to turn on us, we're left without a viable position."
"I understand, but the arrangement has been made. They requisitioned a planet for us and in turn we give them the neighboring military planet," Alexander explains.
Captain Ermler speaks up, "With a targeting array built by humans, humans which they conquered and enslaved."
Alexander leans forward on the table, turning his head towards Ermler, "Now you get decisive, Robert?"
"It's suicide to give them a strategic advantage," Ermler retorts. "We don't have a back door. We don't have some grand reassurance."
"What am I suppose to do about it?"
Zuckermann, his voice kept level, responds, "Break the agreement. To hell with the Vasari, they were never our allies. They attacked us. Take the planet and hold it. If J'rah wants to take it, he's free to try."
Alexander smiles, "And what about Lord Arnoldt?"
"I don't give a damn about him," the response comes without a moment of hesitation. "He's a bastard for talking to one of those... those things. If we were anywhere else in TEC space, he would be hunted down for treason."
"Like the Advent?" Alexander asks.
"Don't try to make out like it's the same thing. You know damn well it isn't," Zuckermann's hand slams flat on the table.
Alexander drops his head for a moment before lifting it towards Levin, "What do you think, Walt?"
Levin leans back in the chair and takes a deep breath, holding it for a moment before releasing, "I have to agree. I don't think it's in our best interest to be surrounded by superior forces."
Alexander stands upright, grasping the bridge of his nose as he scrunches his face. He releases, turning towards the window and taking a few steps. He turns back and speaks with a subdued voice, "It's not that I don't agree, but we're not just talking about the Vasari. We're talking about Lord Arnoldt and the pirates and half of the damned sector coming unwound around us."
Zuckermann shrugs, "We're talking about losing a lot to make gains for someone else. It's not proportional. We lose twice as many vessels, but they receive twice as many planets. We won't do this anymore."
Alexander nods, "I know. Have our men hold position. I don't want anything built nor destroyed. Just... sit."
Captain Neuhaus asks, "What about the Isaac? She can't make a voyage out of here if we plan to recover her."
"That depends on how this goes," Alexander says, "Just make sure she doesn't float into anything and I'll let you know. Glad you made it back."
Alexander gives Levin a pat on the back as he walks by, leaving the room and heading towards the hangar bay. Within twenty minutes he arrives aboard the David and proceeds directly to the bridge. Upon entering, Gross takes off his headset and asks, "So what was the meeting for?"
Frishman looks over to see Alexander, his face straight, take a seat in his chair. "This is not good."
Alexander speaks, "Lieutenant, tell Lord Arnoldt that we can not see fit to hand Portage III over to Lord J'rah and that we are remaining in orbit for the time being."
Everyone aboard the bridge sits silently, turned towards Admiral Draakjacht. "Admiral," Gross speaks up, "Is that all?"
Alexander looks towards Gross and adds, "And tell Lord Arnoldt that I am willing to talk about the matter, but," he pauses to sigh, "I can't promise anything."
"Yes, sir."

After 45 minutes of slow walking, turning off grav boots and long jumping across ruin sections of the ship, Drake’s team reaches the bridge of the ship. After some time to get the doors open, they make they’re way onto the bridge. The security officer scans around to see nothing but destruction and debris everywhere. Drake moves about looking at various consoles while the tech tries to figure out what is what.
Security speaks up, “Looks like no bodies sir, the may have abandon ship before it was too late.”
“That maybe true, or they were taking off the ship before they blasted it to hell,” said Drake.
“Or they were vaporized in the explosion,” said the tech. “Look here.” The tech was pointing at faint outlines would could have been humanoid shapes on the floor.
“Wow.” said Drake. “Do you see any data links or junctions for you to plug in?”
“Not really sir, let me check the other side of bridge.”
“Drake to team two, how’s it going so far?”
“We are just now reaching the engine room, nothing to report so far, this was definitely cargo ship. The large doors and space behind them with rows and rows of storage units for bulk supplies,” said security officer.
“Cmdr Drake, sir,” said the tech, “Found a conduit, it maybe power, if it is, I should be able to power some of these systems and access them sir.”
“Go ahead then.” said Drake.
Josh Sanders joined the TEC, as soon he was old enough. By the time he graduated, the Vasari were already laying siege to frontier worlds. In the two years in the military, he has served on two ships, both far from combat, the opposite of what he wanted. When he joined, he was following his brother who now serves aboard the flagship of 23rd Expeditionary fleet. The Mjolnir, (Thor’s Hammer) A Kol class battleship, he is one of the tactical officers aboard. His brother has been in combat multiple times, and the reputation of the Mjolnir is spreading through the ranks as the most luckiest ship in all of TEC. Being in one sided battles and able to the fiend off the aliens to the point that rumors are spreading among the Vasari that ship was born from the “void which chases”, at least that’s what TEC intelligence says.
Setting up the equipment to do a power transfer to the bridges damaged systems; he contacts his friend who is down in the bowels of the engine room. “Nick, you there?” he said.
“Go ahead.” Said Nick.
“I’m setting up power transfer here, when you get your end up and running, see if you can shunt power to the bridge for an additional boost.”
Nick came back and said, “Gotcha. You know, may see some action after all.”Josh replied, “Yeah, but I was thinking being part of a fleet, not half across the galaxy rummaging around in a blasted to hell scrap heap.”
“Can’t get what you want all time,” said Nick. “Anyway, you should see engineering; I’ve never seen plasma manifolds configured in this way. I think Cmdr. Reid will have a field day on these engines.”
Nicholas Stanford joined the TEC just about the same time as Josh. Nick came from well to do family who manage trade routes out in the frontier. He has seen first hand destruction by the Vasari. People he has grown up with died as they came spilling out of the void of deep space. They showed no mercy in their cold soulless eyes and if he had a chance, he will slaughter them all. At the time of the attack, Nick was off world going to a prestigious tech school in another system in the sector. The planet he grew up on fell to the Vasari within two hours. The last pictures they saw were from a remote feed from a weather satellite, it was unknown at the time but two Jarrasul Evacutors and a dozen of the Karrastra Destructors parked in low orbit, so large their shadows cast forth over the surface of Tenga IV. Beams came forth as they all started to carve the surface of the world like a roast. So much energy came forth that it overwhelmed the satellite. Days later, the aftermath was apparent. Over 3oo million people lived on Tenga IV, less than 20 thousand escaped the destruction of their world. In that same day, hit quit school and joined the military.
Nick and Josh met and served on their last post, the TEC HSC 2345, a Hoshiko Robotics Cruiser. They serviced the drones, which repaired ships that came back from battle. Vasari ships can carve a heavy cruiser in two; he and Josh have seen a Kol battleship limp back to port for emergency repairs, from Phase missiles, beam and plasma wave weapons. In the back of Nicks mind, something eerily strange about the damage to this ship.
“Engineering to the bridge, please respond.”
“Bridge here, go a head Cmdr,” Lan replied.
“Captain, my team and I have finished our analysis of the debris we brought aboard. We have quite a few answers, but in the process we tripled our questions, could you come down to hanger bay?”
“I’m on my way.” Lan cut the comm. channel, said to Seles, “you have the bridge, inform me if there is a change in anything Lt.” Seles rises from her station, and says to the captain as he nears the lift, “aye sir.”
Captain’s Log: Supplemental
It has been almost two hours since Drake and the away team went over to the derelict ship. The team split up and both arrived ay the bridge and engine room roughly at the same time. They started work on powering up some of ships sub systems. In the meantime, Cmdr Reid just notified me of his team findings. Something tells me I am not going to like what he has to say.
After exiting the lift, Captain Lan makes his way through the corridors until he arrives at the hanger bay of the Minoes, he presses an entry command on the wall and the double doors slide open. The biggest open area on ship, it holds different shuttles and pods and can be a make shift rec room or triage center when it is called for, only draw back is that the engines running at full power, you can’t hear anything since it’s right between them.
Lan enters the doorway and sees different kinds of metal wreckage laid about on the floor of the hanger. The only thing that is common is their blackened condition; Reid sees the captain and motions him over to himself, “over here John.”
Lan makes his way over to the Cmdr who is finishing giving orders to one of his staff. The captain gives another look around at the debris and says, “You got enough?”
Lt Cmdr Sebastian Reid is the chief engineer of the Minoes. In addition, has been a friend of the captain for a number of years, two of those on the Minoes. When they realize they can keep the other out of trouble, that’s when Lan started to take “bats” with him on his command staff.
“I could get more, but I think my guys will mutiny against me if I did, besides, to get this I sent them out two more times on top of three EVA‘s already.”
“Most impressive,” said Lan in a sarcastic way. “Anyway, what did you find out bats.”
Reid turns and says to Lan, “Follow me.”
Lan follows Reid to a rather large piece of metal and with his hand held data display unit calls up information so he can see. “You see this blast pattern?”
John looks down and takes the display unit as Reid is explaining.
“The way metal breaks down indicates a high beam weapon, not from a laser impact, and this piece here, see how there is a sort of a wave pattern, kind of lateral.”
John looks and compares the data on the display.
“And check this out,” they both walk to the largest piece of wreckage, “You see the multiple impact points on the exterior but look on the inside,” the both walk to the other side, “multiple fragmentation with a different phase variance.”
John clicks to scroll the information on screen when Reid says to him,” And saving the best for last.” Reid takes the hand held, brings up a new picture on screen, and shows it to Lan.
Lan eyes widen and says, “IS THAT A FUCKING NANITE!!!!”
