Its us again! Here to bring you yet another exciting community topic!!!!
This topic is dedicated to any stories, lore, epic poems, novels, Role Playing...anything your heart desires to share!!!
We are always up for a good read and are excited to see what you all create from DS.
We will be featuring hopefully some neat post in this orginal post every so often. Maybe be something we liked or we though it need attention! So, aim your Ogrov at that writers block and get your fingers typing!
There aren't any rules, but we do have some guidelines to follow so that we all can participate and enjoy ourselves.-There is really no limit on what you post just as long as it is Distant Stars related.-Most members are participating in a single large story with the occasional side story or two. While this thread is certainly not limited to just that story, for the benefit of all readers and participants, please begin your post with how we're supposed to handle it. (Personal Story) (DS RP) (Trader Space) Examples of this can be found all throughout the thread or by looking at this post. https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/372058/page/21/#2596003 This will help us all out by letting us know if you're trying to set yourself up to join the main lore, if you plan on just telling your own story, or if you're just writing lullabies for children to sing before they go to bed.-While we don't expect you to 'Play the game' in your stories, we do ask that you keep any liberties that you take be grounded within the game. For example: Talking about your space marines invading another ship is not something the game covers, so feel free to be inventive on how it would happen. However, carrying point singularity rifles that open up little black holes is beyond the scope of the game and will not be allowed. Soldiers with phasic armor that prevents them from being wounded let alone even being hit, while being relevant to the technology in the game would also not be allowed. The point is to be fair to the other people. We encourage you to ask yourselves, would this work in the game, and how would I feel if someone used this on me? If You feel strongly that it would work and you'd be okay with it being used against you, then by all means, use it. Fantasy posting, dream sequences, and April Fool's postings are of course, immune from this guideline.-We highly encourage you to message other members for help or advice. There is a TeamSpeak channel that is frequently used by the regulars to talk issues out or just shoot the breeze behind the scenes. Everyone is encouraged to take advantage of these resources. Also, 'regulars' may send you messages with suggestions, concerns, or advice. It's nothing personal, so please do not be offended, they're just trying to help keep the lore consistent within these guidelines. If there's any doubt at all about anything, just message one of the people who you see posting a lot. If they don't know, they'll pass your message along to someone who does or tell you who you need to talk to.-It is also highly recommended that you message other RPers before posting anything involving their stuff. If you don't, you're likely going to find all of DS rising up against you.-In an effort to reduce clutter, we're asking that Out Of Character (OOC) commenting be either sent to the individual for whom it is intended by using the private message feature, or take it to another thread. https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/366762 is a thread frequented by many of the lore writers and random comment posting about anything under the sun is highly encouraged there as well in an attempt to get the thread locked. Enjoy.

Lord Ryat stood at the podium watching everyone file into the briefing room. The briefing room was on the military starbase that hovered over the phase gate. It was being used because it was the biggest in the fleet. And with almost 400 captains, admirals and aides the briefing room got full quick. Still the humans did their best to create a space between them and the Vasari. Ryat stood patiently as the last trickled in, then banged the gavel to call the meeting to order. Everybody calmed down and focused on him. "Welcome everybody," he began. "To begin, we need to extend our thanks to the J'kar clan for their sacrifices that allowed that gave us this information." Silence settled upon the crowd before a few open minded individuals started to clap, others joined in but it was half-hearted at best. The ten Vasari, nine capital ship captians and Lord J'rah, sitting in the corner acknowledged the sign of thanks as they were briefed. Lord Ryat activated a holoprojection of a solar system. It had a green star and one phase lane leading out to a huge military planet. That planet had two phase lanes extending out with a terran planet on one lane and a plasma storm on the other. The plasma storm had two phase lanes coming from it, one leading to a small volcanic planet and the other going to a savannah moon. The terran planet also had two phase lanes with one going to an asteriod belt and the other going to a huge forest planet. "This system is what our astrographers call Portage," Ryat said. "It is owned by the Vasari clan call the Kris Slavers. I have it on good authority that these Vasari are the lowest of the low and are known for their cruelity and taking of slaves. Just in case you need an excuse to hate them." Mild chuckles rippled through the room. Ryat pushed a button on his remote and the holoprojection changed to showing an enlarged version of the huge forest planet. "This is planet Portage 7," Ryat continued. "And this," he used his remote again which added a Kostura Cannon to the projection orbiting the planet, "is our target." Whispers again rippled through the room. While he, and the others had made no offical statement, rumors had gone through the combined fleets of what was on the otherside. But he knew the next was going to shock them. "We are going to capture the Kostura Cannon," he said slowly. Silence filled the room. Ryat used the remote agian and imagery of the planets defenses came up. About 37 capital ship icons showed mixed with mines and missile platforms surrounding a phase gate. "My fleet will make the first run and attempt to punch through the defenses and engage the defense fleett. Carbon will come in behind and secure the area to prevent reinforcements. Lord J'rah will come in behind and secure the planet. While Xenon and Admiral Alexander will secure the Kostura Cannon." Ryat continued, with occupaning imagery. "Are there any questions?" There were none. "Attack begins in a few hours."_________________________________________________________________________________Now the fun begins!
(Personal / DS) As the next day passes uneventfully on the planet of Finley 1, the space around the rest of the system trembles with activity. All of the remaining repairs to the capital ships are completed, and the small battlegroups protecting the broadcast center and the trade center are fully bolstered. Each containing 10 Cobalts, Javalis, Krosov, and Garda frigates. A Hoshiko was produced and one assigned to each group. The RFT Pioneer returned with the 4 other colony frigates sent back to Trader Space to get more people and they're spread out across the system. Roesh and Todd finally had a chance to sit down and look over all of the research notes they bought off of Admiral Draakjacht, and prioritize the order that they'd be tested and developed, starting with the projects that would improve their system the most. Having direction and a full staff of eager scientists and technicians, R&D started working at full speed. Henry decided that once the resources were available, he'd like to have a couple starbases constructed at the star at the terminal points for each phase lane to block access to the interior of the system. That would be a project for later though, since more priority was put into constructing an orbital refinery at each asteroid to assist Casey's operations in generating more raw materials to use systemwide, adding more research stations around the system, as well as adding a couple more trade ports in preparation for an increase in business once the situation on Finley 1 is resolved. The start of the following day cycle brings some activity to Finley 1. The govenor sends out a priority message to whom ever he was calling for more ships, only this time, Henry intercepts and scrambles it. Half an hour later he starts calling Roesh over the comms. Govenor Kieran says, "Roesh, your people might be in danger." "Might be, govenor?" Roesh asks. "It seems, the town's police force are taking over several of the critical infrastrutuces buildings down here and my militia are far too few to hold enough to ensure refugee safety." "That does seem like a problem." "For now you will send some of your troops down to protect your own people, and to ensure their safety they should control the portion of the town closest to the camp. I'm authorizing you to use any force necessary." "If it's absolutely necessary..." "It is absolutely necessary." Govenor Kieran interrupts. "You hold your portion of the town as a neutral party..." The transmission cuts off. Roesh presses a few buttons on the terminal near him, "Govenor?" The comms officer sitting there speaks up, "I'm sorry sir, the transmitter down below has lost power." Roesh fiddles with a few more buttons and brings up Henry and Tim on the screen. "Gentlemen... Finley 1 is restless today. Tim, we were ordered to send some troops down to secure our camp and to take over the portion of town closest to it to ensure our people's safety... Let's make that happen. We were also authorized the use of force. It probably won't be necessary, but just in case, be ready for it." Tim says, "Absolutely. I've had teams ready to go since we got here. They'll be planetside in 30 minutes." His image disappears. Roesh continues, "Henry, I'm going down there as well, if any guests show up, stall them. I'll contact you once this is decided." Henry nods and cuts the comm. Roesh hops on the first transport ready to go and heads down to the refugee camp. As soon as he lands, he's greeted by the doctor he's grown accustomed to seeing every time he's there. Dozens of marines in battle suits exit the craft and take up positions around the camp waiting for reinforcements. The doc asks, "Are you getting involved in this?" "No." Roesh replies. "We were ordered by Kieran to take over a portion of the town closest to the camp." "So you're answering to him now?" "No, but I'm not going to pass up the opportunity to assert control either." "I don't follow..." "You will." Roesh says as he walks over to another shuttle dropping off a couple more squads of marines. One of the marines speaks up, "Sir, we're securing the campsite now, Admiral Hodgkins is on his way with two more platoons. We'll begin taking portions of the town when they arrive." Roesh nods, "As you were then, Leiutenant." The marine salutes and takes up position at the main entrance to the camp. Roesh and the doctor talk about the injuries of some of the people as they walk around the camp. Twenty minutes later, four more shuttles drop down on the edge of camp and unload a few dozen more marines decked out in battle suits. Tim turns one of the shuttles into a command post and the other five remain on stand-by for emergency evacuations. Roesh and the doc join him as the marines poured out of the camp and began to take over the surrounding portions of the town. "What's going to happen?" the doc asks. "Nothing, as far as I'm concerned." Tim replies. "But you should be expecting to receive some injuries. They always happen." "Are you guys taking over?" "If we must. I have another whole company in low orbit just waiting for some leave. Don't forget, you guys came to us for help only a few days ago." "Yes, and you refused." "We refused to solve your problems for you. You're doing that now. Which ever side wins, we'll be here to discuss the future. I'm pulling for you guys, but you're not trained military." "That may be so, but when you're a small settlement like ours all the way out here, you learn a few tricks." "You better hope they work, because according to the information I'm getting here, auxilliary power has been restored to the town hall and Govenor Kieran has a working transmitter again. He's also got his militia holding several blocks around it so you're going to have a lot of trouble taking it." "It's a shame we're resorting to fighting ourselves..." The doctor laments. "It'd be worse if you were fighting us." Roesh replies. "We've got superior numbers and could easily just bombard the planet." "Can I ask you a favor since you seem uninterested in fighting?" "What's that?" "What exactly are you doing here?" "We are being gracious guests, doing as our host asks during our visit." "Oh come off of it... You had the means to bring all of these people here, you have the means to take them to where ever you're being supplied from..." "That's true doc, but they needed immediate care, and the time and stress of jumping where we need to go would be too much." The doctor nods in agreement, "But why are you still here? You keep bringing supplies down, clearly you have the resources to move around, I find it hard to believe that you're just waiting until you find another place to go. I know what you're up to." "What am I up to then?" "You want us to fight out our differences so that you can take over." "Doc, I could have done that the first day I was here. Taking over isn't my interest." "Then what is your interest?" "The safety and well being of my people, Doc." "We can dance around this all day long, but I'm just going to say this before I go. I know you're up to something... You wouldn't still be here if you didn't want this place for some reason, I know it, you know it, at some point you're going to have to admit it... Hopefully before the safety and well being of my people are compromised." Tim just laughs at the doc as he walks out. "Some imagination you've got there. I do believe that Kieran has made you paranoid. Either that or you got some combinations wrong on that medicine you make." Roesh laughs and turns to Tim, "He's right though. If he could prove it, we're busted." The marine captain walks in, "Sorry to interrupt sir. We're experiencing an influx in people trying to avoid the conflict. I recommend calling down another platoon to help maintain order." "Sounds good to me, make it happen." Tim replies. The captain salutes and heads off. Roesh comments, "This is going to get very interesting real soon. I have a feeling we're being dragged into this even though I've been trying to avoid it." "Yep... I do believe you're right. If we start taking their refugees into our control zone, then maybe it's just best for everyone that we do openly take over. This infighting can't be good. I mean, we got one side taking over utilities and cutting the other off, the other willing to kill for control and calling someone for backup... Someone we don't know where... Things just aren't adding up to a positive outcome." "Yeah, you're probably right, call down that reserve company you got waiting and have your captains mobilize our troops once they're all here. Kick out who ever shoots at us first. It'll probably be Kieran, so be ready for it. I'll be talking with Henry about who we should put in charge of the system." "You got it boss." Tim says as Roesh exits the shuttle and gets on another and heads back out to the ships in orbit.
Alexander's shuttle lands in the David and he barks out orders as soon as the door opens, "Get all fighters preped for combat. I don't want more than a forty second launch time. Have all weapons across the board checked and double checked. All units arrive at battlestations within two hours and maintain readiness."
"Sir, tactical's on the line," a voice yells across the traffic of the deck.
Alexander rushes to the comm and takes it from the soldier, "Admiral here, go ahead."
"Sir, Green Fleet is still a distance away. They won't be here within the timetable set up," Frishman's voice comes over.
"Alright, have Green Fleet arrive in orbit of Eras VII and hold position. Their standing orders are to make sure only TEC units come through the gate. If there's any reason Ryat thinks his Vasari allies are going to be moving about, have him coordinate frequency identification. After that, get with fleet captains and run through a full systems check," he orders.
"Yes, sir," Frishman replies before the comm disconnects.
Alexander turns back to the deck, "Men, we're on a timetable. Let's not drag our heels today." He turns to leave the deck towards engineering.
Thenos had a key problem. Population. He had designs for new ships, but not enough people to crew them. The population of the newly named Garran Collective was spread thinly across the three colonies they owned as it was. In an attempt to find a solution, Thenos had dispatched Ryan and two other Disciple vessels to a nearby star that he remembered from a report. However, in the mean time, Thenos was taking steps to ensure the survival of the people that he had.
Thenos arrived at the weapons testing area of the Revenge’s barracks. There he was greeted by the sergeant of the ship’s first platoon of marines, and a few of the marines from that platoon. There were actually only three platoons on the ship, and one of the platoons was planetside on Rebirth, but all of them were elite.
So, Thenos asked, let’s hear the new data on the prototype.
Well, the sergeant began, it’s really impressed us sir. I would definitely be happy to wear this one as the final version. If you’d follow me sir.
Thenos did, and was led to a firing range. It had been cleared of practising marines for the purpose of the tests, and had a vast variety of weapons stacked near one firing port. At the other end of the range, an armour-suit was hanging. Its bottom layer looked like almost standard army gear, in an urban camouflage style, but it was the plates of metal over it that made it special. They covered the majority of the suit, barring the helmet, neck, and a few areas that had to be left uncovered for flexibility. It wasn’t powered, but had a smaller profile and was less clunky than the light exosuits used by –UE_ marines.
So what have you fired at it this time? inquired Thenos.
We’ve retested all of our own infantry weaponry and all of the stolen TEC kit, replied the sergeant.
All of it?
All of it. Well, not the heavy exosuit rocket tubes, but we have shot it with the main gun.
Really? What happened?
I’ll show you sir.
The sergeant motioned to a nearby marine, sending him a psychic message. The marine manoeuvred a stand into position, on which sat a heavy exosuit anti-infantry gun. It was fired, causing a clanging from the other end of the firing range as the armour-suit was blown off of its chains. The sergeant ordered for it to be brought into the room. It was placed on a table.
Just like with the other weapons, some of the crystal layer of the alloy plate shatters, absorbing most of the impact, but obviously on a larger scale, as pretty much all of the crystal in the plate smashes. However, the point is that with this on, a marine could take a hit from a heavy exosuit, unless it’s a headshot or gets between the plates.
Nice, and you’re sure that it takes hits from other guns? queried Thenos.
Yes sir. We’ve even had a few volunteers test the suits under fire!
Rather them than me. Anyway, are you happy for this to be the final version?
Of course, sir, the sergeant replied, it won’t get any better than surviving an exosuit attack.
Good. Tell Major Arnollt to get sizes for all of the men, then we can place a bulk order to the planet.
Leaving the barracks area, Thenos was impressed. He had designed the suit, with a permanent inner layer and replaceable armour plates, to take rifle fire, but it could survive at least one hit from an exosuit cannon. Now Thenos’ marines would be the ultimate shipboard fighting force, with the agility of standard infantry and durability exceeding that of a –UE_ marine with a standard light exosuit. One of the technicians that had reviewed the designs for the prototype had told him that the idea was genius. The crystal in the plates cracked, absorbing the impact of any rounds from a weapon. The plate could keep taking rounds until the crystal shattered completely. The plate could be replaced with a fresh one later. Looking back, Thenos was glad that the High Psintegrat had rejected this idea when he proposed it to her. Now that he had a bit of spare time, Thenos needed to do more looking back. Once inside his quarters, he closed off his mind, and began to focus on it. He was searching for a memory.
The metallic behomoths moved ponderously through space while the minnows dashed through their wake all trying to get into formation. Lord Ryat sat in his chair on the flagbridge watching the organized chaos as his fleet got ready to jump out. Sixty five captial ships, 21 Kols, 9 Marzas, 16 Sovas, 11 Dunovs, 8 Akkans, and two thousand cruisers and frigates were in his fleet and it took them a while to get all set for the battle formation he had developed. Ten of the most experienced Kols, lead by Duke Edmenton, with most of the three hundred flak frigates and fifty scouts made up the first line. They were to deal with the swarms of mines that surrounded the phase gate on the other side. The Dunovs and the four hundred Hoshikos would follow close behind to help repair any damaged sustained. The next line would be his Kol plus the other ten, sixteen Sovas fully loaded with heavy MK III elite bombers, four hundred Kodaiks, four hundred Cobalts, two hundread Percheron light carriers, with an even mix of fighters and bombers, and the fifty Cielos. The last line was nine Marzas, eight Akkans, and the two hundred and fifty Javelis ready to provide support fire. The Vasari, Kris Slavers, didn't have nearly as large of fleet on the other side. Latest reports said about fifteen Kortuls, fifteen Vulkoras, seven Maruadars with five hundred Kranaks, two hundred and fifty Enforcers, and two hundred Suberveters. Ryat had asked J'rah why such an odd fleet composition. J'rah merely snorted, a mild laugh as Ryat had come to learn, and said its a typical raider fleet. Go in with firepower and speed then retreat as soon as possible. That fleet had no staying power. Minimal to no strike craft cover and nothing to colonize any planets. Thats the way Lord Ryat liked it. "My lord, -Ue_Carbon is on the comm," his comm officer reported. "Patch him through please," he said. "Hey man, are you ready?" Carbon asked. "Nay," Lord Ryat said "I'm never ready. I just point my great crew towards the objective and they handle the rest. A great crew they are. I've got no worries," he finished with a smile. Carbon chuckled. "Good to here," he said, "Well I'll see ya on the other side. Don't worry, I got your back." "Good," Lord Ryat said, "We can take this fleet. But when the reinforcements come, I'm going to need you there." "My Lord, all ships are in position," his op officer reported. "Well, gotta go High Paragon Carbon," Lord Ryat said, "see you on the other side." "Aye," Carbon responded, "See you on the other side." Carbon went offline and Lord Ryat refocused on the holoprojection. Everything was in readyness. "Order jump," He ordered. "All ships begin the jump," his comm officer said. The ships belonging to Lord Ryat were all lined up carefully then began to make their jumps almost as one, disappering in a whitish blue flash. Duke Edmenton sat calmly upon his throne-like seat in the flagbridge watching the viewscreen that should the whitish blue of phase space. The holoprojection showed Portage VII with all its defenses. Those mines would be a pain to be sure. Though Lord Ryat's plan would help with much of that. "We are approaching the phase out point, my lord," his op officer reported. "Ready the adaptive shielding," he ordered, "we are going to need it." The fleet burst out of the phase lane and the ten Kols under Duke Edmenton activated their adaptive shielding just as the mines erupted around them. The Kols took most of the damage as was intended and the majority of the explosions were absorbed by their heavy shields and armor. But some still leaked around and some flak and scouts vanished in the explosions. The Dunovs and Hoshikos behind immmediately began working on removing as much as the damage as possible. The Kols and flak began to move forward, scouts began making mines visible and the flak and Kols opened up with their weapons clearing a path through the minefield. Clearing a lane to get to the Kostura Cannon and defense fleet was Ryat's first objective. Carbon would help finish off the remain minefields in his job of securing the gravwell. The rest of the defenses, all the missile defense platforms and the few strike craft from the hanagars began to attack the fleet. "Launch all strike craft. I want the elite bombers to engage the fleet. The regular bombers to attack the platforms and hangars. The fighters are to engage all enemy strike craft. Such as they are," Lord Ryat ordered. The strike craft catapulted off their attendant ships and headed towards their objectives. The fighters reached their target first, as some two hundred fighters rushed headlong into the some sixty Vasari strike craft. The fighters ripped through the small swarm and the strike craft for the Vasari were quickly neutralized. The bombers were next to swarm their targets and the missile platforms and hanagars began to burn heavily with damage. Several hanagars had a nasty Vasari phasic trap that slowed some of the bombers, but there were too many coming in from too many directions. Most platforms died on the second pass having never fired a single shot. The rest were finished of in the third pass and as the fleet cleared the minefield the bombers turned to follow the elite bombers that were heading for enemy fleet. Hundred elite bombers screamed towards their targets in anticipation of battle. With no worries of fighter strike craft they were eager to engage. They closed in on the first two capital ships, Kortuls and opened fire as soon as they were in range. Or so they thought. Cries of dismay filled the comm channels as every pilot reported some sort of weapon jamming. The pilots attempted different areas with similar results. And the Vasari fleet charged onward, ready to engage the TEC fleet, their Maruadars bending the space around them to speed them along. Lord Ryat listened gravely as the reports from the elite bombers came in. Well that explained the lack of strike craft protection. The Vasari had some field that was jamming strike craft weapons. He would have to speak with Lord J'rah about that. "We are clear of the minefield My Lord," the op officer reported. "Seems to be some sort of energy field surrounding the Vasari that is jamming the strike craft weapons," Rear Admiral Usyma reported. "Doesn't look like it will effect our ships weapons. And we might want to be careful with those Subverters. I've heard they are nasty." "All ships form up to attack formation. Begin firing as soon as they are in range," Lord Ryat ordered, "tell the strike craft to stand by until we figure a way to take down that energy field." The TEC fleet slowly reformed with all the Kols, Kodiaks and Cobalts moving foward ready to engage the enemy. Dunovs, Hoshikos, and flak hovered a little behind ready to lend assistances as the EWS bombers move forward hoping their tricks would cause problems for the Vasari. Sovas, Marzas, Javelis, and Akkans hung a little back, with thier longer range weapons and support from the Akkans target computers they were the first to engage the enemy. Missiles rippled out of their racks on both the Marzas and Javelis and headed for the enemy. Explosions erupted amoungst the Vasari and ships began to die under the firepower. The EWS bombers from the TEC were indeed wrecking havoc with the Vasari fleet targeting computers which meant they could not fire back yet. But the Subverters were not effected and using their abilities they jumped into phase space and popped right in the middle of the TEC fleet disabling many of the cruisers and frigates. The remaining TEC ships turn inward to deal with this threat and tore up the Subverters causing massive damage. This allowed the Vasari fleet to get close enough to attack and they opened up with their phase missiles. The TEC fleet staggered as missiles not only smashed on the shields, but also popped through the shields and struck the armor. Two Kols went down in flames as their armor was pierced. Many Kodiaks and Cobalts died as well. "Activate Adaptive Force Fields," Lord Ryat commanded, "Fire the Guass cannons. Have the Akkans fire Ion blasts at those Kortuls, they seem to be the ones leaving that energy field around. Order the Marzas to begin barrage and the Sovas to drop missile pods." The TEC was a well trained force and even with destruction raining upon them, operated smoothly to the orders. Kols activated their Adaptive Force Fields and fired their Guass Cannons. Three Vasari capital ships, two Vulkoras and one Maruadar, were destroyed under the barrage as the phase missiles did less damage to the Kols due to the force fields. The Akkans fired of Ion Bolts rapidly, affecting all the Kortuls. The mysterious field around the Vasari fleet vanished and the bombers, both elite and regular, found that their weapons worked once again and dashed into the foray with impunity. Many Enforcers went down under their concentrated fire allowing the Kodiaks to use their rocket thrusters and closed quickly with the Kranacks. Marzas opened up with their missile barrages and the Sovas dropped missile pods which added more missiles to the furball. Many Vasari cruisers and frigates died under the massive barrage. But the Vasari fought back as the remaining Kranacks targeted the Dunovs and Hoshikos. One Dunov vaporized under multiple hits and soon the support section of the fleet was fighting desperately to keep themselves alive. The Vulkoras fired off their phase missiles in swarms and soon two Marzas and one Sova were destroyed. The Kortuls shook off the effects of the Ion Bolts and overpowered their weapons and shields. The weapons devastated the ranks of Javeliss and one Akkan died a fiery death. The TEC still in the end prevailed. With the jamming weapon field off, the bombers and fighters tore through the Vasari like scythes through wheat. The Kols weapons added to the chaos and soon Vasari capital ships were going down left and right. Another Kol went down in battle, but it was the last as the superior TEC fleet shattered the Vasari defending fleet. With debris floating all around if the TEC fleet settled down to take care of its wounded. "Begin repairs to all ships," Lord Ryat ordered. "I want a full count of casualties as soon as possible. Also see to-" "My Lord, we have incoming!" shouted the ops officer. "It's the Vasari reinforcments," Usyma said quietly. "At least fifty capital ships and close to three thousand assorted crusiers and frigates." "I hope Carbon gets here soon," Lord Ryat said.
"Sir! Sir!" The younng officer ran across the bridge towards the assembled senior officers.
"Yes Colonel?" Veers asked the officer as he stopped to catch his breath in front of the admiral's chair.
"We...have just recieved word...of..." the officer tried to continue, gasping for air, "of...Vasari forces...arriving in-system..." he recovered slightly then walked over to an empty chair and collapsed in it.
"Good." Veers turned back to the senior officers. "The Karskul Armada is here to negotiate."
Captain Kellan spoke up first, "The Vasari? They're back? But they just...left!"
"For very good reasons I can assure you Captain." replied General Veers. "Now. Assemble in the briefing room. We have a meeting."

(Personal / DS) Roesh's shuttle passes half a dozen more heading down to the planet. Henry get's him on the comms and requests a meeting as soon as he can. The shuttle docks with one of the ships, let's Roesh off, and then returns to the planet's surface. Roesh heads to Henry's office and before Henry can say anything, Roesh starts up. "I know. I know... We weren't going to get invloved..." Henry looks at him with a blank expression forcing Roesh to continue, "We really don't have much of a choice... When the refugees are taking in refugees of their own, we gotta stop it..." Henry's face switches to one of deep thought. Roesh begins to pace back and forth, "Tim's just going to take over and get if over with, Kieran can leave with whomever he wants, if he wants... Or we could just let him keep a nice cozy little house somewhere at another settlement... Say something!" Henry answers, "All I was going to say was that we've stopped some ships entering the system. They're probably the one's Kieran called for." "Oh. I'll head out there then and take care of it." Roesh says. "You do that." Henry replies with a laugh. Roesh leaves and heads to the star. He joins Captain Ellis on the Assailant who is currently blocking access to Finley 1 with the Fulcrum. "What do we got captain?" He asks. "Eight frigates jumped into the system and tried to run past the Fulcrum. We managed to get into position here first to block their path and the Fulcrum joined us to form a blockade. The Advocate and Firebrand are positioned on the otherside so that can't run around the system in the other direction or cause problems for our other projects." "Very good. Bring up their leader on the screen." Captain Ellis nods and a comms oficer brings up one of the other captains. "This is an outrage!" He screams. "Govenor Kieran ordered these ships and you're preventing us from delivery. We will fight our way past if we must." Roesh holds back from answering right away, "Well, the problem we have is Govenor Kieran gave us orders not to let anyone through without his permission, and you don't have permission." "Rediculous! If we could get ahold of him, he would give us permission!" "Well, he's having issues with his transmitter at the moment, so you're just going to have to wait until he resolves that." "Absolutely not! We don't answer to you. You will let us pass, and you will do so... Now!" "I'm sorry captain, but you don't answer to us, and we sure as hell don't answer to you. Face it, you may outnumber us two to one, but our ships are much bigger then yours, and if you try to run to the phase lane, you will be destroyed." The captain's face turns red with rage as he cuts the comms. All of his ships advance on the Assailant and open fire triggering an alert throughout the fleet. The Assailant immediately returns fire and the Fulcrum launches all of it's strike craft. The Advocate and Firebrand race around the star to join in the battle. The Foe Hammer requests to leave Finley 1 and join the battle, and the Affliction does the same from Finley 2. Both offers are accepted by Captain Ellis who wants to end this conflict quickly and decisively. Todd sends a message to the engineers to monitor everything they can about the new strike craft variants and report back to him about their performance and flaws. The frigates, being much more maneuverable then the cap ships, all scatter making it very difficult to bring several of them under fire at once. Captain Ellis comments about how well their tactic is working until the main gun fires and completely annihilates one of them, forcing him to reconsider his previous comment. Two of the frigates manage to get to the phase lane only to be greeted by the Foe Hammer leaving phase space and unloading every gun they have available on the two adding them to the annals of history. The remaining frigates decide that this is a losing battle and try to flee, only to be hammered by several missile volleys from the Firebrand. The Foe Hammer and the Assailant both open up with their main guns and each drop another one. The remaining three frigates immediately surrender. Captain Ellis orders everyone to stand down and has the three frigates assume an orbit around the star and has the Fulcrum and the Advocate flank them until a decision is made on what's going to happen to them. The Foe Hammer and Aflliction are ordered to return to their previous assignments. Planetside, as more people shift away from the town hall and the conflict between the police and milita, Tim has his marines expand their area of control further away from camp. Several prominant people visit Tim in the command shuttle and urge him to end the fighting before there's a bloodbath on their hands. Tim repeatedly tells them that his orders from Kieran are to mearly protect the refugees and since he's the ruling authority, the RFT cannot do anything else. After a short intermission from the pestering townsfolk, several come back led by the trio that met Roesh and Henry in the tent days earlier, minus the chief of police. A man starts up, "I'm Jacob, I met with your bosses before this all started..." "Okay, Jacob, what can I do for you?" Tim replies. "The town is no longer willing to support Kieran. We know that you don't want to do anything because he's the govenor, but he's only the govenor of his militia now. We're all tired of being treated like servants, we will swear our allegience to you if you stop this before we start to suffer casualties." "Kieran is holed up pretty good, there'd be bloodshed reguardless." A servant comes forward. "Not if you use the tunnel to get in." "Of course there's a tunnel... There's always a tunnel..." Tim mumbles to himself. Speaking up he says, "Well if you can prove to me the entire town wants this and you decide on a new leader in the mean time, then I guess I'd have no choice but to follow the orders of the new govenor..." Jacob says, "Step outside and see..." Tim stands up and walks out of the shuttle to see the refugee camp filled with hundereds of people leaving standing room only just outside the door. "Wow... Didn't know there was actually that many people here." He yells out, "So, does the town no longer support it's govenor?" The sea of people all raise their fists and give a thumbs down, a gesture reminicient of the way voting was done in the ancient days of humanity. Tim yells again, "So who is the new Govenor?" Jacob steps up and volunteers receiving a majority of the crowd's approval signified by applauding and whistles from various people. Tim yells again, "Anyone else wish to volunteer?" The crowd remained silent. Tim looks to Jacob and sighs, "Well, I guess that's good enough for me, let me contact Roesh and Henry and see what course of action needs to be taken." He returns to his seat in the shuttle closing the door behind him for the extra privacy. He switches on the comms to Henry and informs him of the situation, who in turn informs Roesh and Todd. The three take a minute to discuss things and decide that it's what they wanted from the beginning, but now they have the support of the people. Roesh contacts Tim and gives him authorization to forcibly take control of the town hall. Tim confirms the order and cuts off the comm. He relays his new orders to the marines to surround the police who have the town hall surrounded themselves and to order them to surrender their weapons and return to the camp. He leaves the shuttle and asks the servant where the tunnel exit is and he dispatches a squad to prevent any escape. When word comes back that the entire police force surrendered under the orders of the chief and are headed back to the camp, Tim orders his marines to take up position and give the same surrender instructions to the militia. Upon hearing this Kieran get's on his radio and demands to speak with Tim. "What is the meaning of this? You're supposed to protect yourselves, not take over the town." He screams. Tim calmly answers, "Well, Kieran, you're no longer the govenor. The town put someone else in charge and requested we protect them from the invading militia. Order your troops to stand down." Tim cuts the comms. He orders the marines to broadcast the short conversation to see if the militia gives up. Assuming the loyalists would never allow any others to break ranks and surrender he has them tear gas the hall and everything surrounding it so they can storm the gates without much resistance. Most of the militia drop to the ground and give up when they're approached, some are killed when they open fire. A few minutes after the building is raided, a seargent calls over the radio that Kieran has been taken prisoner at the tunnel's exit. One of the shuttles is dispatched to pick them up and take them to another location. Tim and a couple squads of marines take another shuttle to meet up with them. At the undisclosed location several miles from the town, Tim's shuttle lands and the marines pile out and secure the area. When the second shuttle lands, Kieran exits under guard. Tim approaches him, "Since you've been mostly cooperative with us, I'm going to make you an offer. Your time here is done... We can set up and take you and anyone loyal to you to another settlement on this planet, or we can turn you over to your former townspeople. The grumbling we've been hearing from them though, you may want to take the relocation option. The one stipulation is though, no agressive action will be tolerated from either side." Kieran hangs his head and takes the settlement option. Tim continues, "Good, they will show you a few alternate locations for you to pick from, give them a list of names that you'd like us to talk to about relocating and we'll have them moved over if they wish." Tim and the marine squads that came with him reboard their shuttle and return to the refugee camp. On the way, he calls Roesh and requests that he come down to the planet to brief Jacob, the new govenor, about what is going to be happening in the future.
Is there anything already mapped as being in Mytivias? And is it neutral or controlled, and by whom? Because if there's nothing important there already, I'd like it to be neutral but ex Advent, and for it to be part of my next bit of story.
( DS story )
Xenon steped off of the shuttle. He had just gotten back from the breifing. He would be making his way to take the cannon, that is once his fleet goes though. He was hoping that there wouldnt be too much of a fight once he got there, that way he can help Ryat with his fleet repairs. Xenon wasnt one for fleet fighting, but he would do it if needed. He moved though the Osiris until reaching the bridge. Once there he addressed the room.
" Let us be prepared for what is to come, and make sure the Ammut is ready also. We need to be ready to fight if needed." Xenon said aloud to his crew.
One step at a time. Xenon thought to himself. First we take the cannon, then we take the Advent.
At that moment a tech came upto Xenon,
" Sir, the retro fit to... well you know. Its finished" The tech said in a low voice, trying to make sure no one around had heard what he said.
" Very good, make sure all the exo-suits are 100%, dont need them to lock up on us" Xenon replied back to the tech
" Yes sir" The tech said as he left the bridge
So lets see how this well go, Xenon though as his fleet began is move to get into position
(Personal / DS) Roesh returns to the planet's surface to meet with Jacob and Tim. When he arrives, he sees that the refugee camp is nearly empty, aside from the marines enjoying a bit of leave before they have to head back. He enters the shuttle where the two are waiting for him. "So Jacob, Tim tells me you're the new govenor." he says. "Yes I am, for now, until we can do a proper election. We don't want another in for life govenor like Kieran." Jacob replies. Tim says, "Just one thing though, we're relocating Kieran and anyone who wishes to go with him." Jacob is visibly shocked by that comment. Roesh continues, "Well, that's good I guess. We'll have to give him the equipment to make sure he has the same quality of life he had here though." "I figured as much." Tim says. "I've already send in the order to be dropped where he decides to make the new homestead. We gave him options and he's being shown as we speak." Jacob interrupts, "Wait, we dont get a say in this?" Roesh replies, "No. Actually, you don't get much of a say at all about this." "But I'm the new govenor..." "Until you hold a proper election. Unless I decide to not let you be govenor now." "Why? What did I do?" "You expressed interest in leaving here a few days ago, or at least opening up your planet more readily to people like us." Jacob nods, "Yeah, I mentioned that." "Okay, then buckle up." As soon as Roesh finishes making that comment, the shuttle pops up off the ground and heads back to space. Jacob is taken to the Foe Hammer, where he and Roesh transfer over to a scout ship and go for a ride around the system. "As you can see, we've been busy." Roesh says as he leads Jacob to the command deck and sits down. Jacob nods and replies, "You have indeed. Right under Kieran's nose this whole time too." "Yes well, he never wanted to leave the planet, so it's not like it wasn't that hard. You're a business man, the leading textiler in your town?" "Yes, I lead our chamber of commerce as well." "Well, since we've pretty much taken over this system, and you swore allegience to us if we dethroned Kieran, that makes you a member of my business community. What we're going to do is turn this whole system into a bustling trade node. That's the plan at least." Jacob sits back with a smile on his face while thinking about the possibilities until Roesh continues. "Since you were here before us, I'm going to at least make you an offer. You officially sign the rights to your planet over to us, and I hire you to fill one of the currently vacant positions I have on my board. I've got three high level positions open. An administrative position that oversees the general well being of the planets under our control, a holdings developer that basically makes sure all of our customers are happy with our services, something a chamber of commerce leader should be well accustomed to. Finally, the not as lucrative, but still highly coveted system govenor position which is there to appease the people and bring their concerns to us... Which is why I commented that I could take your current job away. It will have to be expanded to include all of the planets and moons we're inhabiting, which means no more cozy little small town job.." "This almost seems like a dream... A week ago this was a dream... But now..." Jacob comments completely flustered. "Yeah I know, it's a lot to take in, do we have a deal?" Roesh says while extending his hand. "I guess... I mean I don't think I have much of a choice after seeing all of this... You look like you're doing whatever you want out here anyway." Jacob says while shaking Roesh's hand. "Excellent. I'm officially expanding the responsibilities of the govenor to include the entire system, you can go back home and call a meeting to inform everyone of the change, I'll expect a resume from you and anyone else interested in the positions I was telling you about by morning. I'll give you a copy of the details before you leave. Expect to see lots of changes around here over the coming days, including a lot more people living on your planet. We're officially open for business now. Oh, and don't worry about Kieran, he'll be busy getting accustomed to a new settlement and a new way of life to bother any of you anymore. And if for whatever reason he does, we'll move him off planet." Roesh leaves the deck to let Jacob enjoy seeing the system come alive with settlers and ships. He contacts Henry and has all operations turned up to full capacity and to lift the ban on Finley 1's grav well. R&D is tasked with prioritizing new living conditions so they can fully expand through the whole system, and Casey is given the go ahead to set up mining operations on every resource asteroid that can support it. The entire fleet is called to the star to set up orbit since protection of the interior of the system is no longer necessary. Jacob is taken back home where he can relay all of the information over. It's received with mixed results and emotions, but ultimately they know it's going to happen as a fact of progress and change even if they don't like it. They agree to give up control of the planet and share it's resources and space in exchange for a say over the entire system. They request to make the position of system govenor an elected position instead of having it appointed, to which Roesh agrees knowing fully well what they just went through. In return, Roesh makes Finley 1 a priority for all planetary improvements, adding both research stations, a broadcast center, and another tradeport to it's orbit to be built when the resources become available. Supplies and equipment flood the town to bring it up to a more acceptable standard that a new commercial hub should be at, easing the worries and concers of the settlers about just being taken advantage of. Several prominent members of the town apply for the remaining positions available which leads Henry to hire Jacob as their Holdings Developer and starts to create a file with all of the info he'll need about the contract they have in place currently, and all of the contracts they've had in the past. Molly Pierce, a relative unknown is hired as the planetary Administrator. The thing catching Henry's eye was the fact that she was responsible for Kieran's firm grip on the seat of power, as well as her continued service, making sure that even though the population's wealth was being drained from them, just enough was siphoned off and given back to keep the living conditions barely tolerable. Henry figured that skill was rare and necessary to a company focused on earning profits as well as not turning the people on the planets into slaves. She's informed that even though the RFT is primarily a TEC style organization, that she may have to see to it that any Advent or Vasari seeking a temporary place to stay while negotiating or otherwise get comfortable and safe living environments around the system and are accommodated accordingly. She decides to reserve space on each planet and moon specifically for Advent and Vasari settlements and works on security enhancements to protect everyone from any animosities that may have developed from conflicts over the years. Roesh works with her citing examples and experiences from back in Trader Space on what ways would be best and what failed miserably. Todd reports completion of new hanger defense variants and places the schematics on the system cunstruction database, as well as schematics for improved Guass Defense Platforms, while Casey reports in that the refineries and expanded usage of resource asteroids has greatly stepped up materials available. The system now truely resembles a beehive full of activity.
Behind closed eyelids, Thenos began to use one of the most challenging abilities of a telepath. To influence someone else’s mind was one thing, but to affect your own, to overcome your natural aversion to doing something potentially harmful to yourself, was something else entirely. Memories were something that could always be accessed by someone once they infiltrated your mind. The owner of these memories may be incapable of recalling these memories in a non-psychic way, but a permanent record of their entire life could always be found. Thenos was going to access his own memories, going back to an event fourteen years ago. He would experience all of the inputs into his brain, everything he felt, saw, heard, as if he was there again.
Thenos walked down a corridor in the Arlan Psychic Academy on the planet Arla, which was back in Trader Space. He had been allowed out early from the advanced telepathy lesson, having mastered what had been taught fairly quickly. He was always first out, and the various teachers at the school all called him a prodigy, the greatest student they’d had since that girl that went off to become the top commander in the Flames of Vengeance faction. Thenos was looking for someone else who had left early. She was the new girl, who had joined his year at the start of this year, having had “problems” at her previous school. She had been sent out after being caught reading from a data pad. Sister Tayeela, who had been leading the lesson, had called her to the front, and then had told her to perform what the sister had been telling the class about. Obviously, she couldn’t, which annoyed Tayeela. She had asked the girl whether she cared about fulfilling her psychic potential, and she had said no. This had brought Tayeela, who had had several bad experiences with the new girl, to breaking point, and the sister had psychically struck the girl’s mind. It must have hurt her, but the girl had done an impressive job of covering up the pain as she was ordered to leave the room. Thenos suddenly spotted the girl sitting at the edge of the data library, reading from her data pad again. He headed over to her, until she noticed him and attempted to hide the data pad, dropping it in the process. It had something about minerals displayed on the screen. She went to pick it up, and caught his eye. Thenos could tell that she was scared.
“Don’t worry, I don’t mind about you reading,” Thenos said. He had been told that she had mentioned how she disliked telepathy, so had decided to talk instead. He also knew that many of the other students at the school bullied her, and that some of the pupils had even beaten her up recently, which would explain her fear. However, despite all this she kept on doing what she wanted. Thenos respected that.
“Really?” she asked, sounding surprised at his tolerance of her hobby.
“I don’t mind at all. Mind if I take a seat?”
“Sure.”
Thenos did, and said, “Sister Tayeela acted in a really out of order way. Doesn’t it hurt?”
After a short pause, she answered, “yes…”
“I can help if you want,” Thenos began, stretching out with his mind to hers.
“No!” she snapped, then continued in a softer tone, “I’m okay, I don’t need help.”
“So what were you reading about?” Thenos asked, trying to change the subject.
“Oh, they’re just old mineral reports,” she said, “but did you know that crystals used to be valued solely on their appearance?”
“What do you mean?” Thenos inquired. He was trying to keep her talking, to make her feel less isolated. His friends probably wouldn’t understand why he was sympathetic to a completely unrefined psychic, but he couldn’t see any reason to dislike her.
“Well, nowadays we only care about how well they focus beams and lasers in weapons, but back then they were appreciated for their beauty. There’s a lot that we can learn from the past.”
“What? Like the exile of our ancestors and stuff?”
“No, not just what everybody gets told, but the things you’re not taught. Did you know that our ancestors traded with the David’s Lions before they were removed from their world?
“With them? But they were TEC!”
“Exactly. It proves that we can find peaceful solutions. It’s not all about how many worlds we can burn out of revenge. If we learn from the past, we can deal better with the future. Then we can enjoy things for what they are, not how we can use them to kill,” she sighed, “but the others don’t seem to appreciate any of that. They just want to go and get their portion of revenge for an event that nobody actually remembers any more. They just see a glorious future of war, and label people who like me freaks.”
“You’re not a freak,” Thenos comforted her, “but what do you plan to do at the end of the year when we go out and get our places in the Unity?”
“I don’t know. Something where I can be left alone, probably. What are you going to do?”
“I’ve always wanted to be in the military,” Thenos admitted. To his surprise, she didn’t seem to be annoyed by that, “but I don’t know what I’ll do in it.”
“You’ll probably be a captain at least. You’re a very skilled psychic, and it’ll be people like you, good listeners who are on the front lines, who may be able to bring us closer to peace with those we share the galaxy with.”
“Thanks,” Thenos said, rounding off as a bell rang, signalling that the next lesson would soon begin, “and what’s your name? I’m Thenos Garr.”
“I’m Casey. Casey Tahira,”
“Great talking to you Casey. I’ll probably see you-“
The memory cut off as, like a nightmare from his previous meditations, a wave of hatred struck Thenos. Suddenly, he felt his mind moving to another memory, one that he had never had trouble recalling, that had haunted him ever since the event had occurred…
Xenon was thinking about them again. The Advent. And again hate and anger filled him. He thought of how much he wanted to wipe from the face of the universe. How he wanted every last one of them dead. He had no remores for those religous monsters. Thoughts and memores filled his head as he remembered that fatefull day, that ships, it was supposed to be a regular transfer, double crossed us, damn them, that one, the man, his face.
Xenon came out of his trance as his ship came to a stop, in line to move though the gate. Xenon decided to not think about it for now, and focas of the task at hand
(NO LONGER NEEDED, SEE EDIT FOR OP)
Thenos regrouped with the rest of his squad at the edge of the hangar. The shuttles were sabotaged, they had killed the bridge crew and jammed communications, and they had set charges in a weak hull section. The ship would soon be space dust. Thenos had been told that he would be a captain when he left school. What a joke. He’d ended up as a Psychic Manipulation Officer, who essentially just made the target ship’s crew panic, in a ship sabotage squad, and had been a member of this squad for three years without a single friendly casualty in any of his missions. This mission had been easy. A modified Arcova from the TEC’s Intel Division had arrived to take part in a prisoner swap with an Aeria Drone Host, which had agreed to have no drones onboard. The plan was for the sabotage team to infiltrate the Arcova whilst the intelligence officer took his marines over to the Aeria to coordinate the transfer of captives. The TEC that had travelled to the Aeria would be slaughtered, their ship left drifting through space in what would appear to be an accident, and the Advent would keep the TEC prisoners, and have their people back, saying that the Arcova never arrived. Once the TEC realised that they'd been betrayed, it would be far too late to do anything. All five members of the squad were now present at the edge of the hangar bay, part of the Arcova’s modifications, when a message arrived from the Drone Host. “Damn, the intelligence officer and a group of marines escaped! They’re heading back to the Arcova!” “You got the prisoners?” Captain Trenn, the leader of the squad, asked. “Yeah, bu-” “Then everything’s fine. We’ll deal with this intel officer.” Right on cue, a shuttle burst into the hangar. Reacting fast, the squad’s sniper fired, her shot smashing through the cockpit canopy and killing the shuttle pilot. However, as the shuttle crashed to the deck, four marines jumped out, followed by a man clad in the black uniform of a TEC intelligence officer. Suddenly, something whined past Thenos’ ear and punched through the head of another member of the squad. It killed him instantly, spattering the wall behind him with gore. More whining noises followed, punching holes in the wall behind the squad. Another squad member fell. “They’re using gauss weapons! Don’t fight them, just run for the escape pods!” the captain ordered. The sniper and Thenos followed the captain out of the hangar, reaching the escape pod bays with the TEC marines hot on their heels. Thenos used telekinesis to shut a blast door behind the squad, but a gauss round got through in time. It hit the captain in the lower leg, taking it off at the knee. He hit the deck, and the sniper turned to Thenos. “Fire off all of the escape pods except C. I’ll get the captain into that one and launch once you’re on board.” Thenos went to the nearby computer terminal and placed his rifle on the floor. He finished his task, and was about to pick up his rifle, when the intelligence officer from earlier rounded the corner from the other route to the escape pods, coming face to face with Thenos. Thenos drew a pistol and knocked the gauss rifle from the man’s hands, but the man managed to grasp Thenos’ hand, and a shot from his pistol went wide, setting alight a nearby pipe, which burst, filling the corridor with fire. However, Thenos was already diving towards the escape pod with the remaining members of his squad in it. He managed to avoid the worst of the inferno, as the pod sealed and began launch procedures. Thenos made the mistake of looking back, and as the escape pod launched, he saw a body fall in front of the escape pod port, and saw a face, scorched, flesh almost completely burned away, staring empty-eyed at him from burned-out eye sockets. Thenos finally opened his eyes. He knew that the charges breached the hull of the Arcova, and that the resulting airless wreck was found by –UE_. He knew what happened to the squad. The captain died in a medical room, and the sniper got captured and was never heard from again. Then there was Thenos. He was summoned by the High Psintegrat of the Flames of Vengeance, put through numerous tests and was trained, eventually becoming captain of the Enduring Freedom at the age of nineteen. He still was, even if the ship had been renamed. It was a strange universe. A single mission that failed to go to plan put his life on a new track, one that led him all the way to this point. Thenos ended this sentimental train of thought, trying to forget about that smouldering body, what it must have been like to burn in that inferno, and focused on going to the bridge and seeing whether Ryan had reported in yet. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Should I just assume that there is nothing in Mytivias then?

“Damn, the intelligence officer and a group of marines escaped! They’re heading back to the Arcova!”
“You got the prisoners?” Captain Trenn, the leader of the squad, asked.
“Yeah, bu-”
“Then everything’s fine. We’ll deal with this intel officer.”
Right on cue, a shuttle burst into the hangar.
I’ll get the captain into that one and launch once you’re on board.”
Thenos went to the nearby computer terminal and placed his rifle on the floor.

Should I just assume that there is nothing in Mytivias then?
It looks like you've made a map of your own. I should discontinue v3.0 and leave you to it, but as a show-off of my astrography talents, I'd like to display an unrelated map that inspired the design of v3.0.
I'll just be lurking for now. Might join in the future.
The Undying.
Tbh I hadn't thought too much about the history. I never really thought past: big trade union kicks out psychic guys, gets attacked by aliens who are on the run from more aliens, then attacked by the psychic dudes who are back for revenge. (Yep, Sins in a nutshell )
But all of the stuff about Evertha being Earth and all the politics is pretty interesting, even if it doesn't directly affect the DS sector. And finally, hope you join the story soon Undying.

(Personal / DS) As the days pass, the various projects around the system complete, Henry and Tim focus more on the defense of the system to free up the fleet. They get Roesh to sign off on putting starbases at the star to block the phase lanes, and put no less then three hanger defense platforms at every inhabited planet and moon. Civil projects continue to be developed and expaned upon, as well as further colonization of the system once R&D reports in that they've fully tested and entered the tech needed to colonize gas giants and other hostile environments into the system database. Molly Pierce, the Planetary Administrator, authorizes civilian exploration systemwide, hoping to expand on the exploitation of the Pharmaceutical Flora they already know exists on Finley 1. Jacob leaves Roesh and Henry a message that the populace of Finley 1 have reached their decision of who they'd like to be the new system govenor. Riona Sullivan, a member of one of the more well off families, promised full disclosure of all things happening systemwide and vowed that her home planet would be her highest priority, which won her just enough favor to squeek past other members of the trade and manufacturing industries vying for the same position. Roesh calls up Casey and Todd on a secure channel, "I have to be honest you two. I'm getting a little bored." "Oh yeah, what do you got in mind?" Todd asks. "Well, since I missed out on all of the fun the last time, how'd you like to test the resolve of some of the nearby systems by just doing hit and run raids?" Roesh replies. "Do I get another Cap ship?" Casey asks. Roesh continues, "Not yet. There's a man named Gerrard that runs alternate financing operations in the area. I'll reach out and see if he has any ships that need captains and loan us out to him." "Those are the pirates, Casey." "Thanks Todd, wouldn't want to confuse that with you being a privateer." "Settle down you two." Roesh interrupts. "I'll let him know that we'll finance the initial part of the operation. Whatever funds and goods are reappropriated from this operation we'll take what we put in to recover our losses and they can have the rest." "What makes you think they'll go for that. They would be suspicious of your angle. I know I would." Casey asks. "There's no angle. I'm looking for something to do, you guys need a break from work, they get all of the profits, and we all have a lot of fun in the process... Plus we get more system intel, maybe come back after the fact and offer our services to bolster business and give Tim something to do, maybe even acquire some advanced equipment off of salvage for you two to play with." "I could use some more toys..." Todd muses. "No comment." Casey says with slight annoyance. "Seems like the sooner I make this happen the better off we'll all be. In the mean time, get back to it. I don't want to have to crack the whip on you two. I'll let you know when things are set up and we'll slip out on a scout ship." Roesh says. "Okay boss." Todd says. "I'll be waiting..." Casey says before cutting her comms off. Roesh looks a little puzzled by that, "Something bothering her that I should know about?" "Besides me, I have no idea. She's kept to herself a little more then usual since we all had that little sit down with our new business associates." "Did Thenos get into her head?" "I can't say. She's avoided everyone like the plague... Even her own supervisiors are a little bothered by her lack of involvement lately." "I see. Get with Henry when he has the time and make it a point to visit her at work. I don't want her running away on us." "I don't want her spacing out when she needs to be watching my back..." "I doubt that will happen, aggression always brings out the best in her." "You know, maybe we shouldn't visit her at work... Maybe I should arrange a little boxing match for us during her daily workout session." "Only if you're sure she's not going to kick your ass again..." "That was a lucky shot boss. It won't happen again." "We'll see." Roesh says while laughing as he cuts the comms.Visions of Arla flowed into Casey's mind. She recalls several years of schooling. The beginning when she was very young and first taken in by the beauty of the minerals she found all around her. The pictures she found that showed their brilliance, rather then their ability to refract and focus beams of light for lasers and other beam weapons. The middle when she was working for a crystal mining company as a gem clarity evaluator rather then making friends and enhancing her own psychic abilities. The cave where she discovered some old texts buried in the sand describing experiments that she personally found repulsive and probably led to other experiments that eventually led up to the exile of her people. The end where her obsessions with history, particulary the unrecorded and the erased parts, garnered her notice from concerned instructors, teachers who moved her from school to school after trying and failing to get her to focus on the Unity rather then her own persuits. The time when she was approached by military leaders and ordered off planet to assist with the advancement into Trader Space. Various people who tried to be friends, many more who tried to be enemies. "Hey Casey, you hitting the gym tonight?" Todd calls her on the comms interrupting her thoughts. "I do every night." "I wanna have a rematch." "I'm not in the mood to embarrass you again." "That was a lucky shot... Besides, I've been practicing." "I'd rather be alone, thank you." "See, you keep saying you want to be alone, but I keep hearing you crying out for attention." "Maybe you should have your ears checked out then." "Come on Casey... Something's bothering you. You know it, I know it, the boss knows it, everyone knows it... I'll make you a deal. You beat me again, I'll leave it alone. I beat you, you spill your guts and give me something to gossip about for the next week." "No thank you." "Okay, I won't tell anyone else, but I will still gloat about being better then you." "On second thought, I will be more then happy to kick your ass again." "That was a lucky shot." "Skill darling. You got beat up by a girl." "I wasn't punching hard. If I was, you'd have been knocked out." "Like you were?" "It was a LUCKY shot." "Then bring your 'A game' because I'm going to hurt you in ways you never knew were possible." "You know you look hot when you get angry." Casey slams her hand down on the console in front of her ending the communication. Todd sits back in his chair laughing to himself knowing he just got into her head in the way she usually get's into his. "She's a mess... That was too easy." He mumbles to himself as he gets back to the paperwork in front of him.
