Its us again! Here to bring you yet another exciting community topic!!!!
This topic is dedicated to any stories, lore, epic poems, novels, Role Playing...anything your heart desires to share!!!
We are always up for a good read and are excited to see what you all create from DS.
We will be featuring hopefully some neat post in this orginal post every so often. Maybe be something we liked or we though it need attention! So, aim your Ogrov at that writers block and get your fingers typing!
There aren't any rules, but we do have some guidelines to follow so that we all can participate and enjoy ourselves.-There is really no limit on what you post just as long as it is Distant Stars related.-Most members are participating in a single large story with the occasional side story or two. While this thread is certainly not limited to just that story, for the benefit of all readers and participants, please begin your post with how we're supposed to handle it. (Personal Story) (DS RP) (Trader Space) Examples of this can be found all throughout the thread or by looking at this post. https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/372058/page/21/#2596003 This will help us all out by letting us know if you're trying to set yourself up to join the main lore, if you plan on just telling your own story, or if you're just writing lullabies for children to sing before they go to bed.-While we don't expect you to 'Play the game' in your stories, we do ask that you keep any liberties that you take be grounded within the game. For example: Talking about your space marines invading another ship is not something the game covers, so feel free to be inventive on how it would happen. However, carrying point singularity rifles that open up little black holes is beyond the scope of the game and will not be allowed. Soldiers with phasic armor that prevents them from being wounded let alone even being hit, while being relevant to the technology in the game would also not be allowed. The point is to be fair to the other people. We encourage you to ask yourselves, would this work in the game, and how would I feel if someone used this on me? If You feel strongly that it would work and you'd be okay with it being used against you, then by all means, use it. Fantasy posting, dream sequences, and April Fool's postings are of course, immune from this guideline.-We highly encourage you to message other members for help or advice. There is a TeamSpeak channel that is frequently used by the regulars to talk issues out or just shoot the breeze behind the scenes. Everyone is encouraged to take advantage of these resources. Also, 'regulars' may send you messages with suggestions, concerns, or advice. It's nothing personal, so please do not be offended, they're just trying to help keep the lore consistent within these guidelines. If there's any doubt at all about anything, just message one of the people who you see posting a lot. If they don't know, they'll pass your message along to someone who does or tell you who you need to talk to.-It is also highly recommended that you message other RPers before posting anything involving their stuff. If you don't, you're likely going to find all of DS rising up against you.-In an effort to reduce clutter, we're asking that Out Of Character (OOC) commenting be either sent to the individual for whom it is intended by using the private message feature, or take it to another thread. https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/366762 is a thread frequented by many of the lore writers and random comment posting about anything under the sun is highly encouraged there as well in an attempt to get the thread locked. Enjoy.

We ask that you look through these to help you better understand the region.-About Distant Stars- https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/372058/page/11/#2532381This post will give you a lot of basic information on what the region of space is like, how to get there, and who is there waiting for you.-Distant Stars Maps- https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/372058/page/23/#2604760This post provides you with a quick look at the region and provides you with a download link where you can get yourself a copy of the posted maps in their unreduced forms. They're very helpful when trying to figure out where to go and who you're likely going to run into when you get there. Maps of individual systems are posted throughout the thread. They're generally posted by the first person to explore the system. If you don't know if a system has been explored or not or want to see a map of a system that has been explored, ask around via PM or TeamSpeak. Someone will point you to the place.-Character Biographies- https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/372058/page/11/#2532380This post is a general collection of the main RP characters whom you will likely have contact with. We ask that all people posting in the main lore post their main character(s) bio as soon as possible so that the rest of us have a little background on who your character is, how they like to fight, where do they come from, and why they're there. Read the existing bios for examples on what we're looking for.

CURRENT CHARACTER BIOS:
-Ue_Carbon, High Paragon of Combat Divisions of Unified Explorers Corporation ( -Ue_ ) . Paragon of the 5th 'Carbon' Division When the Advent first invaded Trader space, their vanguards and first waves destroyed most of Unified Explorers' systems leaving the corporation and partners in a desperate fight for survivial. Most Combat Divisions were recalled from the Vasari frontlines along side a call for aid from fellow members of the Trade Order/TEC. The first Combat Divisions to make it back to Unified Explorers( -Ue_ ) the 2 systems still controled by -Ue_ was Gold, Xenon, and Carbon. The High Paragon of each Divsion were as varied as the elements they are named after. Through the determination of the 3 Divisions they were able to save what remained of -Ue_. Despite the effort it seems the lines would not hold for permently. A drastic plan was needed. For some time -Ue_ researches have been testing new colonization methods and equipment in the various anomolies found near the edge of Trader space.. One such anomoly was a wormhole classified as: Xccc783, which lead to a vast region of space far from any know planet or stars. It was unsure if the Advent who controled the system Xccc753 was located in knew of the distant stars the wormhole lead to and if they were already tapping into the resouces found in those systems. It was decided that -Ue_ needed to relocated and take hold of those systems for the survival of the corporation and Traders elsewhere. So began the surge into now Advent controled territory.Unprepared by the sudden sugical assault the Advent withdrew the bulk of their forces to new defensive lines, leaving Xccc783 open to begin the influx of colony frigates, cargo ships, and Divisions to the new systems. And now so...the battle for the Distant Stars has begun...The strategies used by the Carbon Division involve a heavy hand in support ships. Akkan, Dunvo, and Hoshikos make up 55% of the Division ships. With other Divisons requesting most of the hard hitting ship that usually make up the bulk any TEC fleet, High Paragon Carbon has forged his makeshift Division into slow yet steady tide of war. While many commanders perfer the bring as much firepower and Capital Ships they can get into every conflict. High Paragon Carbon pefers hordes of frigates and support cruisers to do the heavy lifting. Usually only fielding 2-3 Caps at any given time. Usually the sheer numbers of ships is more than most fleets can handle.-----------------------------------------------------------Alexander Draakjacht, Fleet Admiral of the David's Lions.Symbol: Yellow Star of DavidThe Lions are a religious branch of the Judaic people from Earth's earlier history. This connection to an older religion allowed the Lions to evade religious persecution during the exile of the Advent. In spite of this, many eyes are kept wary by their presence and the Lions have responded with a degree of social isolationism. Against the Vasari, the Lions have provided what little numbers they have to fight off the alien force, garnering a reputation for supressing passion for the sake of good judgement and numerical preservation. Since the resurgence of the Advent, the Lions have come under fire for their mixed reactions. Although never unwilling to provide defensive forces for the TEC, they hold little ill will against the Advent and even sympathize with them because of the similarity of their histories and so they hesitate to take the offensive.Their strategies rely heavily on capital vessels and starbases. They use mobile, defensive tactics to engage the enemy in a sometimes slow, but relatively low caualty advance. Kols provide half of their capital forces, with a blend of support capitals escorting the Kols in equal numbers. Offensively, strikecraft are used for fighter cover only, but the recently fielded gunship is becoming more prominent in defensive arenas.Behind the frontlines, the Lions are a heavily economic people, their hands being deeply entrenched within almost every economic sector. As their forces garner territory, massive refitting takes place in older territory, battle ready stations being stripped down and converted into economic hubs. Although costly, the long-term gains offset the cost and the foresight to focus on orbital refineries keeps the converted starbases from producing the trade congestion that would occur if trade hubs were too numerous.-----------------------------Lord Ryat Arnoldt, Baron of the High Gryphons SystemLord Ryat is known for his deviousness in battle and high understanding of the enemy, sometimes seeming to show sympathy for the Vasari much to the dismay of others. There are even rumors that he is in constant contact the pirates that roam the stars, giving them many new weapons and tactics. Yet his almost brutal effeciency in destroying the Vasari and Pirates seems to cast doubt over these issues. None though doubt his hatred for the Advent being that his system has boarded the space of the Advent for so long and had lost most of his family and homeworld to them in the inital opening attacks. His solid defense and some fortunate pirate attacks on the flanks of the Advent held them off long enough for the massive industrial complex on other worlds of the High Gryphons System to build a massive attack fleet mixed with many capitals and support cruisers that allowed him to thrust the Advent back, though it was too late to save his beloved homeworld. The strategies applied by Lord Ryat involve a heavy use of capitals mostly of the Kol and Sova mix with supporting capitals in the mix. Kodiaks, Hoshikos, and Light Carriers make up the rest of his fleets providing him with a flexible, fast, and hard hitting fleet that sends the enemy reeling. And he always seems to hit just when the pirates are doing their worst to the enemy.------------------------
Paragon Xenon, High Paragon of Intelegence for Combat Divisons of Unified Explorers Corporation ( -Ue_ ). Paragon of the 13th 'Xenon' Division
Xenon is the Paragon of the intelegence devision of the -Ue_ . He is a very unusal man, and doesnt talk or give much imput to people he doesnt know. Xenon and Carbon go back to early wars and have become very good friends since then. Xenon is a tall and slinder man, he is often seen wearing trench coats, gloves and boots, and never shows any skin. His entire face has become metal, and is robotic. The only person who knows why , is carbon. He was there during the accedent. Though Xenon usually knows just about eveything that is happening with in the -Ue_ , he has many contacts that are much father than most think.Xenon likes to use strike craft to protect himself and his allies. His favorite ship is his Sova Carrier which he dubed "Osiris"--------------------------------------------Roesh, Founder of the Roesh Free TradersRoesh served along the front lines during the initial Vasari invasion into Trader Space. Like all ship captains, he was accustomed to fighting off pirates and chasing after smugglers, rather then taking on a fully armed and capable battle fleet. However, due to above average frigate piloting skills and a whole lot of luck, he always managed to stay just one step ahead of the invaders. After getting commissioned a new Dunov Class Battlecruiser for his efforts on slowing the advancement of the Vasari, he was called back from the front lines to provide battle experience and assistance in dealing with the sudden resurgence of the Advent. Knowing full well that they couldn't stop the Advent, he favored the attack and withdrawl method that he was using against the Vasari to slow their progress until there was enough fleet buildup to outright halt the advance. Having worked to great effect against two major foes, he was awarded several commendations by the TEC, commendations which he gave up in exchange for trade contracts that would take him away from front line activities. Speculation has it that this was done because his home system was captured and the TEC refused to even attempt to take it back. Further speculation has it that this move was made to personally finance his own military campaign to reclaim the system. His personal choice of action is the feigned retreat which fools the enemy into chasing his forces out of the area, which results in the enemy being set up to be ambushed in the process. Careful and calculating, Roesh favors the use of capital ships with light frigate and cruiser support when agression is needed, leaving the bulk of his frigates and cruisers behind to defend his assets and to provide an escape route should things get out of control in a hurry. The Dunov, being a former trade ship redesigned for war, is his favorite ship and the flagship of his fleet. It reminds him of himself. Due to his humble beginnings, he refuses to acknowledge his TEC rank of Battle Group Commander, and refuses to let anyone call him "sir." Most commonly you will hear people refer to him by name or by boss. Little more is known about him or his past.-------------------------Todd Degroff, Fleet Engineer, Roesh Free Traders.Todd trained to be a ship engineer shortly after the Vasari began to invade Trader Space. Proving to be a quick learner he was assigned as an engineering crew member on one of the first capital ships the TEC sent out to the front lines. Being on a ship that saw lots of action almost immediately out of the shipyards, he got more on the job training then he knew what to do with. Constantly making repairs to damaged systems and constantly making revisions to ship systems and total conversion upgrades based on TEC R&D, his skills became quite sought after on several front line ships. Over the next several years, he was transferred from ship to ship further expanding his knowledge on the workings of everything the TEC had put out to space. He became an expert ship mechanicand engineer, and strove to be a chief engineer someday. To his disappointment though, he was never promoted to a lead position which ultimately forced him to begin to resent the command structure that was in place. Becoming a problem for those who commanded him, he was eventually removed from the front lines to work in R&D near the core worlds of Trader Space. His opportunity for a chief engineer position eventually came when he met another person dissatisfied with the workings of the TEC also returning from the front lines. He gave up his commission within the TEC and signed on with the newly formed Roesh Free Traders as Chief Fleet Engineer. Not only did he finally get the command position he sought all those years serving on the front lines, but his skills and knowledge of R&D projects quickly earned him the friendship of his new boss. Essentially as Roesh's right hand, he helped to build a thriving and robust trade network that was second to none. Many companies would offer credits, supplies, exclusive contracts, and anything else they could think of, just to lure him away from the RFT for a few days to teach their engineers a few tricks that he learned over the years. Still being quite young and eager to learn the art of negotiation, it's believed by most that he will be Roesh's successor for the company, and that his future is as bright as the stars he flies to.---------------------------------------------Henry Stolvey, Chief of Operations, Roesh Free TradersHenry Stolvey met Roesh in the days well before the first invasion by the Vasari. Working the same trade routes, they began to get competitive in almost everything they did. Who could pilot the biggest ship, who could outrun the most pirates, who could deliver the goods faster, who could chug the largest beer... If it could be turned into a competition, these two treated it as such. This always present rivalry didn't make enemies out of them, instead it made them the best of friends. At the beginning of the Vasari invasion, Henry was visiting the core worlds on vacation. Unable to return since the the Traders banned travel to the affected systems until an effective military action could be set up, Henry had to rely purely on news reports for information on his friends. For several weeks the only reports he could get were that the systems were lost. It wasn't until a year later when he was traveling with much needed resupply ships to the Advent front lines that he was suprised to meet up with his old friend. Immediately requesting a reassignment, he was transferred to Roesh's command where they picked up their rivalry right where it left off. While hanging out and having a few drinks to forget the war for a little while, they formulated the idea that they would form a trade company together and use their ranking and all of pull with local suppliers to get themselves off to a good start.Seeing his friend's distaste for how the TEC was running the war, he convinced Roesh that it was time they started their business. Using Roesh's name since it was recognizable on both fronts, they set up resupply lines that quickly moved goods from the core worlds to front line positions. Having a lot of battle experience, they weren't afraid to venture into enemy held systems to resupply TEC ships that were badly in need. These actions alone garnered them much favor from many worlds and allowed them to sign exclusive contracts and expand rapidly. Having a keener sense of business, Roesh easily agreed to let Henry take control of the company's operations, where he's happily been at ever since. Every once in awhile Henry takes the time to mentor Todd when he's not too busy, to not only teach him how to run the company some day, but to also put him in constant contact with shadier business people that Henry himself cannot be seen associating with.-------------------------------Casey Tahira, Head of the Mining and Salvage Division, Roesh Free TradersCasey is a child of the Advent. She spent her whole life learning the ways of her people, yet never wanting to achieve greatness. She was more then happy to take a little more time for herself then that of the unity. As this was an unpopular thing to do she didn't have many friends, nor did she care. She spent much of her time studying the history of her people and how they came to be, as well as learning about geology and rare metals. Her knowledge guarunteed her to be an outcast until the descision to reclaim their rightful place in Trader Space was made and plans were set into motion. Next thing she knew, she was being sent out with expeditionary forces to set up resource collection operations to ensure the fleet's survivability if the war proved to be long and drawn out. It didn't take long for the Advent to push their way into Trader systems and take them over. Each time the call was made to expand, Casey was sent along with the advance forces. During one of these pushes, the TEC set up a fairly hearty defense and held the line against the Advent assault. Unfortunately for Casey, in the beginning moments of battle her ship was shot up and destroyed. Doing as she was taught, she remained in her escape pod maintaining inner peace waiting for pickup. That inner peace turned to rage when the fleet she was with turned and left as soon as Vasari forces entered the system, leaving several dozen of them stranded floating in space. The Vasari and TEC clashed with little reguard to the Advent lifepods, destroying most with stray weapons fire. Casey lucked out when her pod was gathered up by Roesh and the crew of his resupply ship. Understanding that she now owed her life to the captain of the ship, she struck a deal with Roesh to turn over everything she knew about the Advent in the local systems, in exchange for protection from being turned over to TEC intelligence officials. Roesh, took the information but couldn't promise her safety, so she worked out a new deal to ensure her survival. With the promise to never use her mental talents on anyone tied to his company, he smuggled her away from the front lines and to the core of his operations where he'd allow her to work as a crew member on his trade ships. Eventually, as his business grew and he needed to find new ways to hide her, she developed the mining and salvage division of his company so that she could conduct her life away from the planets and the people who were too closed-minded to accept her for who she is, not by where she was raised. At least in mining and salvage, you got judged by how much effort you put in, rather then by where you're from. As an added bonus, she got all of the peace and quiet she wanted, whenever she wanted it.-----------------------ThenosA 28 year old charismatic leader, who swiftly rose through the ranks of the Advent navy due to his immense psychic talent, soon becoming captain of a Radiance class battleship that would become known as the Revenge. He played a major part in consolidating the Advent's hold on their territory in Distant Stars. He is known to have fought the -UE_ only a few times, and so is unexperienced against their tactics. However, soon on his Distant Stars career, he was expelled from the Unity by the High Psintegrat, and was taken away, prisoner aboard his own ship. However, as a precaution, the High Psintegrat cut off the crew as well in the Daros system, a small area of space near to the TEC's territory in Distant Stars. Having taken control of the ship once more, and recruiting a small Advent patrol to his cause, Thenos founded what would become known as the Garran Collective, a seperate group of psychics, who had their own network of minds outside of the Unity. This civilisation was based on the desert planet of Rebirth in the Daros system, but soon expanded, and came into contact with other major forces in the Distant Stars sector.
-----------------------------
The High Psintegrat
Supreme Commander of the fleet of the Flames of Vengeance, a militaristic subdivision of the Advent forces, the High Psintegrat was the first high ranked Advent to reach Distant Stars, and is arguably the discoverer of it. However, this title is hotly disputed. In the Distant Stars sector, the Flames of Vengeance have spread to cover a large portion of the sector, and it is suspected that they may control uncharted worlds beyond the view of TEC scouts. They have a strong military presence at Kyrene, but are suspected to have an even better defended fall-back point, possibly near a wormhole into Advent space. The High Psintegrat is well known for her incredible psychic talent, which has proved itself to have an equivalent strength to the combined psychic abilities of two Rapture crews. Obviously, this woman is a priority target for the TEC.
About Distant Stars:
Distant Stars sector is located very far from any know Trader space(Trader space is what I will refer to as the original SINS universe, since this RP and everything is based of the mod which is adds stuff not found in the original game. This inculdes the Advent and Vasari control territory respectively in the original game). What connects the Distant Stars sector to know Trader space is a group of wormholes. They are the only way in or out of the sector, due to some unknown space anomaly blocking phase travel to and from the stars outside the sector.
The systems within the sector are broken down into a couple of major classifications:
-Major Systems: There are currently 48 know Major Systems in the sector. What classifies a system as a Major is usually several planets and/or grav well with potential for mass colonization.
-Minor Systems: There are currently 16 know Minor Systems in the sector. What classifies a system as Minor is the small potental for colonization on a wide scale within the system.
-Wormholes: These tiny systems are based around the 7 wormholes that connect the sector to any other know space. Several of these where found within Trader Space. Allowing the Trade Order to begin its development of the sector. But not all of the wormholes are within Trader Space. With the return of the Advent and the emergance of the Vasari they have found wormhole also that are linked to the Distant Stars sector. Allowing all 3 major races to grab up the systems.
-Black Hole: There is only one in the Distant Stars sector.
-The Void: The vast area surrounding the Distant Stars sector. Its full of vast areas of dangerous ionic storms, Gravametric Rifts, and other hazards. Its known there are more systems in this minefield of space but with the current war on the 3 races hands, they have no use probing the Void yet.Now since Ive been working on the map and also we have already named some systems. I will give a list of the system names.-Major Systems:VertraDarosFinleyProximusKyreneErasArioProvevaCentasUrmalUndaPoassEulicaDalibaManardanaAustrysiusMajabaeaAtlilionMytymniniArcareaAntyneneAmabiusAfradasEgibisSalisiniJaposasEuleviusIbiusEstaEurandTyranulGranardiasGerminthaeaLyruneaXanentulMytiviasAmurumEuphibanaMajannandGranisyaEurinthiasEtheaErardeneAgraEscardusEngatiusAnarciaUtandAtlovia-Minor System:Egon Waste Field (Underworld)HelonQuianRussundova Nebula Erymna Panatrias Tasmygana Britonor Asteroid Belt Anonta Majilya Actitrova Swisova Mercevica Nebula Trarcini Asteroid Belt Ibannona Itacor Asteroid Belt-Wormhole:XCC753(TEC/ -Ue_ Controled)Ryes( TEC/ Blood Gryphons Controled)To be determined(Advent Controled)To be determined(Vasari Controled)To be determined (Vasari Controled)To be determined(Advent Controled)Florundion(TEC/ UPS controled)-Black Hole:Bamntuh BlackHoleThere is the list of the systems of Distant Stars. If a system you have mentioned didnt make into the list let me know, I will adjust it accordingly.
Now lets cover factions. Currently most of us invovled are TEC. With the addtion of a few new players playing not TEC and others adding in new character to play along side their main character we need to clarify who is where. This list is from my knowlege of everyones post so far and what has been created to fill the voids left by us players.TEC factions currently found within Distant Stars:UPS-Ue_(Ryat's Offical Faction name)David's LionsJohn's Rough RidersGerments RegimentKodiak's RangersAny new players faction that might be created and transfered from Trader Space.Advent Factions currently found within Distant Stars:Garran CollectiveFlames of VengeanceAny new players faction that might be created and transfered from Trader SpaceAny NPC faction created by Advent Players
Vasari Factions currently found within Distant Stars:J'Kar ClanMonta ClanKris SlaversMore to be determind later or by a Vasari main player.Non-racial Factions found within Distant Stars:Roesh Free Traders
On some closing note. I am getting lost in if some of you are in the Distant Stars sector or not. So this list maybe a tad wrong. A reminder to all writting here to label your post! So there is no confusion for anyone.
Also for any new players or anyone going to back and forth from Distant Stars to Trader Space you MUST use the wormholes. Its a big deal going back and forth. Especially if your using the TEC wormholes( I cant judge how either the Advent or Vasari guard their respective holes). These are the only link to the rest of known space outside Distant Stars. Also if any faction was to capture and hold an enemies wormhole it would effectivly cut off all thats races faction from support and allow your enemies to strike deep within your races Trader Space territory. Not good for any race.

History has a funny way of repeating itself.
The Earth's discovery of phase space made human civilization appear at peace, but humans are what they are, even if they attempt to remain quiet. Governments and many splintering factions fought over territory and ideals as they discovered new veins of wealth and dealt with a form of travel which, for a time, outpaced communications technology. This initial exploration of the stars allowed many groups to act on their prejudices without fear of retribution and forced people of all types to stand against their oppressors or be subjugated. One such people, scattered across dozens of worlds, were the Jewish people, a small yet determined group which had learned to resist even the largest of foes.
When humanity reached a breaking point in its distribution, a collective series of events generally referred to as the great wars broke out. There were many different reactions. Some took to the peripheral worlds in order to garner spiritual or philosophical escape. Others stood their ground against the oncoming slaughter. Of course, there were groups which both sought to suppress contradictory religions and acquired new technology, thus allowing them faster space travel and the ability to export their crusades to other worlds. The conflict grew as prominent leaders of different factions were assassinated, prompting the masses to find blame for the events. The Jewish people were one such target for this aggression, although the assassins were rarely identified.
Meanwhile, the wars on Earth drove on and the dominant factions pressed their semi-Christian beliefs, minimizing the importance of the Old Testament and allowing for the destruction of the Wailing Wall and the Dome of the Rock. The region known as Jerusalem was rendered temporarily uninhabitable during the conflict and the knowledge of its religious significance waned during that time.
Two of the most powerful groups near the end of the wars soon meet, trading technology and making phase travel available to their public. This arrangement initially allowed the two to extend their causes, wiping out countless more. Soon after the end of the wars and the near disappearance of many peoples, descendants of the second ancient Israel organized a movement within their ranks, garnering a vast number of civilian transports and collecting Jewish refugees from all corners of the new burgeoning Trade Order. They take to the stars, aiming for the farthest point their engines would take them, using signs deciphered from preserved Talmuds to aid in their quest for a new world. While some groups settled and joined the Trade Order, the Jewish refugees refused to allow themselves to be ruled by their former aggressors, thus becoming categorically lumped with others and known as the Opulentsia.
With the arrival of emissaries at the farthest reaches of human settled space, an intriguing force was introduced to the galaxy. This force refused the advances of the Trade Order, causing members of the Opulentsia to take notice. The inhabitants of the newly settled Yisrael and New Zion systems made contact with the humans of the desert planet shortly after the Trade Order, only briefly making diplomatic negotiations before the Trade Order sent market research teams and became shocked at their discoveries. Watching closely as the Trade Order pushed them to exile, the government of New Jerusalem, a large desert world itself, was incapable of matching the Trade Order in the technology and force it used to take control of the solitary planet. It is not long before the exiles are removed from known space.
As time passed, the Trade Order became willing to make minor transactions with worlds outside of the order itself. This allowed negative feelings to subside and for the Jewish people to acquire technologies from which they would improve their position in the galaxy. When the Vasari arrived, the Jewish systems were far from the front lines, but were well aware of the threat and capabilities of this new species. The details of a resistance were long fought over, the Trade Order and Opulentsia being far from over their tumultuous past. The casualties of the time forces the creation of the Trader Emergency Coalition, but the Opulentsia were still unwilling to join, thus left to fend for themselves unless they proved willing to contribute to the conflict at large. The David's Lions were formed, a military group designed to be small yet efficient, in the tradition of the Macabees. Although they joined the conflict, it was for the good of all humanity, not just themselves, earning respect for their contribution, however small. The TEC forces paid them respect, but never forgot where they stood socially. Many of the other Opulentsia demonstrated disdain for their willingness to operate alongside TEC forces. The return of the exiles, now calling themselves the Advent, brought about mixed feelings within the ranks of the Lions. The Talmud teaches that life must be preserved, but the Advent were victims of the Trade Order's persecution, much in the same way the Jewish people had been. In light of this conflict, the David's Lions made it policy to protect worlds assaulted by the Advent but never to engage or pursue. This policy has reignited many of the old hatreds which other groups have for the Jewish people, but their civil isolation and growing military presence has buffered them against open retaliation.
Well, if everyone else is giving family history, I might as well do the same
(DS RP History)
High Psintegrat Br'shd was a rarity. A male. Many things in the Advent culture were optimized towards giving females the power over the PsiTech, so when a male began to climb the ropes of power in the PsiTech world, many watched them carefully. With jealous eyes. Men were not a multitalented as women. But they had power, greater than women. Hence they were often used in specialized areas. But to be a High Psintegrat required one to be multitalented. Br'shd was multitalented and powerful. He climbed the PsiTech ladder quickly and was soon inducted into the Innner Council. There he was a loud voice for restoring connection to the Trade Order and not to pursue war. Sadly, as loud as he was, he was the only one. It wasn't long before the others banded against him. He was soon called before the Inner Council and branded a traitor, and was sentenced to have his powers removed and he be sent to live with the Silent Ones. But they underestimated his powers. Soon many of the Inner Council were brought low before him in the ensuing battle. At this point High Psintegrat Br'shd knew he would no longer be welcomed, even if he won. Hence he made a deal with them. He would leave, completely. He would renounce the ways of the Advent. In turn when their attack upon the TEC were to happen they were to leave him and whatever planet he was on alone, until his death. It was agree, and he left the Advent in an old trader ship heading for the Advent Trade Order border. In the High Gryphon System, on a normal terran-like world of Gryphona he made his home. Using his intellect he quickly developed a powerful merchantile fleet business that caught the attention of Gryphona's ruler, Baron Arnoldt. The Baron saw that a marriage alliance between his daughter and Br'shd, now known as simply Ben Oore, would do wonders for the small kingdom of High Gryphon. And it did. Before long Ben took the name of Arnoldt and assumed the title of Baron. High Gryphon expanded its powers, taking over companies and planets with ease and soon became a major player in the Trade Order. A daughter was soon born to him. And she showed signs of the Psi talent. He quickly suppressed her abilities but he also made sure she was well educated. Knowing the war was coming and fearing that the Inner Council would not honor their promise, he scoured the Trade Order for ancient military texts, most just sitting and collecting dust. He quickly restored many texts and made his daughter read and understand them all. When she came of age he worked hard to find her an appropriate mate. One was found and she soon gave birth to Ryat. He too was born with powerful Psi talent which forced Ben to supress him. He also worked hard to train Ryat in the ways of warfare as well as rulership, for he saw Ryat as his successor. Ryat resented it all. When he came of age he ran from the family and started his own. He joined the militia where his grandfather's training came in handy against the pirates. He also began speaking with them and learning all about them, bending them to his will. The Vasari came and he was drafted into the burdgeoning TEC and was found to be officer material. It also helped that his grandfather had arranged things to put him there. Ryat fought on the lines against the Vasari, working his way up the command line and was soon captained Gryphon which he called after his home planet. While he was on the battle field the Advent attacked.
Baron Arnoldt had quietly built a small fleet for himself away from what only he knew as the Advent TEC border. And he was on a business trip at the core when they came. He quickly called forth his fleet to try to stop the Advent, using every trick he knew and had learned plus called in a lot of favors in the TEC to bring in more ships. Ryat upon learning of the attack immediately requested transfer. Which was granted. Ben and Ryat were reunited and began to push back the Advent. They were successful and reached their homeworld. It was in ruins. The Advent had known who's planet this was and had virtually raped it. The once green and health world of Gryphona became a barren wasteland. But that was not the worst of it. Though Ben's wife had died before the Advent had come, the rest of his family was still there. Worse, they knew who Ryat was and had attacked his family as well. Their minds were wiped clean and they were turned into vegetables, forever locked inside their minds. Rage had filled Ben when he saw his beloved daughter ruined. But he had quickly brought it under control and kept his mind calculating, planning his revenge. But he was not ready for what happened to Ryat. Ryat had much of his grandfather's talents. But due to his grandfather supressing him, he had never trained it. When his rage came forth it burst apart the bands that Ben had put in place. A psistorm erupted on the shattered world of Gryphona and it took all of Ben's abilities to calm it down. When all had passed, Ryat looked at Ben in amazement. Ben then told Ryat his history and abilities. When he was done, Ryat said one thing. Train me. Ben found Ryat to be a much better student this time. Driven by the need for revenge. Ryat learned as much as he could and excelled. He also increased his connections with the pirates and at the prodding of Ben forge some links with the Vasari. When Ben passed away, Ryat, upon taking up the barony, focused on a newly discovered wormhole near the High Gryphon system. There after taking over the Ryes system at the other end of the wormhole, Ryat began to explore the area and soon found the Advent here as well. He also sensed something odd in the area and began his crusade against the Advent and to find out what was going on.

Lord J'rah sat in his command chair on board J'kartha observing the holoprojection of Eras VII. The TEC had formed a massive fleet in its orbit and dwarfed his paltry fleet of three Kortuls, 2 Vulkoras, a Maruadar and Jarrasual (which for some reason the humans called it Egg) with a handful of Skirmishers. It was enough to make him nervous. And the Council was going, oh how did Ryat put it? Warm excreatement of an overly large primate? Something like that, he still had a hard time understanding some of the human sayings. Still, they did not like it. He kept his focus on the holoprojection, specifically the phase gate. The phase gate was surrounded by a large group of Navigators standing ready to move in. They merely awaited the signal. "My lord, the phase gate is repaired and stands ready for activation," a tech reported to him. He signaled his acceptance and sighed. "Open a channel to Commander Kaihan," he said. Commander Kaihan's head appeared in the holoprojector. "Yes my lord?" he said. "Prepare to send your fleet in commander," J'rah ordered. "The gate will be opened soon." "Yes my lord," said the commander of the scout fleet. Lord J'rah commanded the phase gate to be reopened. The space around the phase gate erupted in flash of blue lightning, which changed to red then green then back to blue before the area inside the phase gate when white then formed a soft blue iris. The navigators hovering around the phase gate began to move forward towards the gate. TEC units stood nearby ready to stop any intruders that might come through. The scouts formed up at the edge and then entered the iris and hurtled through phase space.
On the other side the Vasari, the Kris Slavers, had been hard at work building up defenses around the phase gate at their end. They had kept the gate around in hopes of being able to raid through it again and so had made sure that they would not get any suprises. Mines and missile platforms hung ominously around it ready to strike. But J'rah had planned for this, so when the scouts exited phase space they were ready and activated their phasic cloaks. The mines detonated uselessly against the now invulnerable scouts and the missile platforms lost their lock on the scouts. The Slavers fleet of some 35 caps with 2000 frigates and cruisers began to move towards the gate, expecting an attack. The navigators uncloaked and began heading for the gravwell edges, leaving behind special TEC stealthed probes that would send information back to J'rah and Ryat about the garvwell and its contents. With the scouts now uncloaked, the missile platforms retargeted and unloaded their deadly payloads. Strike craft from the nearby fleet swarmed over the fleet of scouts, attempting to destroy them. Many scouts died, including Commander Kaihan. But many navigators were sent through knowing that some would die while others would live. Many reached the edge of the gravwell and jumped out to the next gravwell to carry out their missions.
Lord J'rah watched the holoprojector as it slowly formed the imagery of that gravwell. Many cheered as the scouts successsfully left the gravwell and the imagery stated. Lord J'rah only looked at the losses that were suffered. The comm unit at his chair buzzed. "Yes Lord Ryat?" he said upon activating it. "Well it looks like the mission was a success," the human said, "I am thankful for the sacrifices of your people in this endeavor. If there is anything I can do to help with the loses, just let me know." "I will Lord Ryat," Lord J'rah said, "I will."
I've designed a v2.0 of my Distant Stars map.
We should leave some systems out, otherwise the region would be overcrowded.
The Undying.
The local Advent capital is the desert planet of Unda II, in the Unda system.
The Vasari are disjointed in their activities in the Distant Stars, but if ever, the volcanic planet of Hycaadis in the Xanentul system would be recognised as their capital.
The UPS claim the terran planet of Tyranul II in the Tyranul system as their capital.
The TEC have no official capital, rather a superiorly industrialised cluster of stars, but the most effectual location is the urban planet of Eolia III in the Eolia system.
The -Ue_ have designated their capital as the military moon of Safnir, orbiting the gas giant of Amabius V in the Amabius system.
The leader of the Blood Gryphons bases himself on his extensive pirate base in the Antynene system, but the Blood Gryphons recognise no economic or cultural capital.
Just a bit of info about my faction.
Name: Alpha Fleet. (Commonly referred to as Veers' Invincibles)
Leader: General Maximillian Veers
Capital: Earth (Evertha)
Overall faction:TEC
Bio for General Veers:
General Veers has been a warrior for much of his life. Since he turned 21 he had joined the TEC military, earning a distinguished career for putting down insurrections and pirate incursions in the Distant Stars sector. Working his way up through the ranks he became a high ranking officer and able to captain a ship by age 30, one of the youngest in the TEC. Now 40, Veers has been recalled from the backwater sectors of Loral (a Pirate stronghold) to beat back the Vasari advance in the Distant Stars sector. After the disappearance of the chain of command and the removal of all knowledge of the Distant Stars from mainstream TEC forces Veers has been forced to dig in and fight a long, hard siege to dispell the Vasari. With the Advent's arrival and surprise attack on Veers' sector the battle-hardened men of the Alpha Fleet have been forced into a two-front war with their lives, their families, their reputation as Invincibles on the line.
Feel free to add it to the other list. If you feel like any of it could be changed send me a PM or post.
Oh and on that V2 map my faction would be just below Urmal.

Aye... I had suggested ideas, but I was being lazy in language.
I've exhausted myself. I'll address all these map issues at a later date. You can forget using v2.0 of the map for a while.
( DS Lore )
Xenon was reciving the reports from Ryat. Taking this first planet in order to take the Kostra Cannon was going to be much more difficult than he had originally thought. Xenon had planed on taking the planet and the Cannon easily, then the real battle would be with the Advent. But it seems that this would delay them even longer, giving the Advent possible more time to finish whatever they where building, if they where building. No one had really any intel of the region, just the little that the contacts of Xenon and Ryat that where able to actually get some info to them. The place was like a black whole of knowledge, nothing escaped it. This got Xenon nervous, he wasn't one for jumping blindly into a death trap.
Xenon moved from his quarters, walking down the hallway, past crew members, and eventually reached the hanger. He walked up to one of the crews that was going over thier ship, asking out loud, " Where's the captian of this ship?"
" In the Captian's lounge sir" was the reply he got back, Xenon had been against having one on his ship, it was someplace where captains sat around, not very productive. But he had built one to try and keep them happy. Xenon turing to the man who had responed,
" Are there any crew members missing?"
" No sir, all present, with the exeption of the captian" The crew man said. He was wearing the markings of an alkali. Probably the next in charge.
" Good is the ship ready to leave?" Xenon asked as he moved toward the hatch.
" Yes sir, but we would need the captian,... Sir?" The man said as he followed Xenon on board the ship.
" No we don't, get this hunk of metal moving alkali, we dont have all day." Xenon said as he sat in one of the rough looking seats and started straping in
" But sir?!" The man said, looking rather confused about the whole situation
" Come on, your the man in charge right, the captians not here so get the crew aboard and lets go." Xenon said as he finished straping himself in
" What about the capti"
" WE dont need him, can you not hear me, crew on ship, ship in space, now" Xenon said intrupting the man
"Ye.. yes sir!" The man finially said after a few seconds of thinking, he moved over to the hatch yelling to all of his fellow crew members that where around the vessel.
"Hey lets go, no questions right now. We got to get in space now." The alkali continued to get the men moving in the ship and to thier stations as Xenon watched with a carefull eye. It was only a shuttle, but a cargo one so they where not used to hauling passangers around. Once eveything was ready, which only took a few moments under the alkali's constant encouragment, the shuttle took off, leaving the Osris behind and moving into space.
" Where to sir?" The alkali asked, having more cofidence now
" Hrrm, a good question, prehaps we shall go on a sight seeing tour of the fleet we have here. Once we do that send a message to Ryat, i havnt seen him in the last fe hours so lets go bother him. Then if we still have time lets go and bother Carbon." Xenon told the crew
Xenon had been tired of sitting around his ship, waiting, waiting for the time to come, waiting for when they would make thier move. He understoood that operations of this magnitude took time. But like with his men, he liked now down time, so he decided to occupy himself with this till somthing more important came up. He bagan to think of how the captian would react when his ship was gone, or if he would even notice.
Hmm I see your point. Perhaps we should just say that Trade Order influence never actually existed here? That they were never totally in control?

(Personal / DS) Roesh and Tim arrive planetside, again just on the outskirts of the tent city. As they stroll through, they're welcomed by the chief of police once again. He quickly get's to the point. "We all heard the threat from that Advent..." he says. Tim replies, "Don't worry, it's already been taken care of." "Does the govenor know?" the chief asks. "Of course, we were in constant communication during the entire conflict." Roesh answers. "We're on our way to the town hall to speak with him actually." "Great... He's trying to butter you up to be his next captain Rollin until you have to leave." the chief says. Tim quickly replies, "Isn't that what you're trying to do with us? I have to say, I'm feeling used no matter what happens here..." "You have a point, but we're not trying to force you to help us or anything, it's your choice, and you said no, so we're going to try on our own. The thing is, I just want to make sure you're not going to help Kieran either. He will ask you since you were the last with Rollin and owe him for letting your people be here to recover." The chief says. "Don't worry, he threatened my people here. We don't owe him anything. He'll get no help from us." Roesh remarks. "But before things get out of control, if they get out of control, I'm going to want to keep my people safe. What assurances do I have of that besides parking a bunch of soldiers around the perimeter in full battle suits?" "The police will do everything it can to keep the militia away." The chief replies. "Not good enough. If the govenor mentions the grumblings of the town, I'll have to request we get relocated." "He won't allow it, if you move even a few miles away, he won't be able to monitor things here." "I'm aware, but if open conflict is an option, I don't want my people being harmed any more then they already have been... Even if that means letting Kieran activate his militia to stop you guys, using us as the reason." "I understand." The chief laments, "It would give the people the wrong idea, that you're supporting him or at least betting that he will win a conflict, but I understand." "One positive though." Tim adds. "At least he lost most of his strong arm fighting the pirates." "Yes, but the battle suits stay with him. Even he lost all but a hundered of his militia, he could still stay in control of the town." "Where does he get reinforcements from?" "We don't know. He has the only working space transmitter, and he used to have the only fleet... I suppose he get's his help from some other system." "OKay... Here's the thing. We have standing orders to keep everyone away. If we're not told to let anyone through, then to protect my own people, I will use everything I've got to stop whom ever tries to enter the system." "So if we take out his transmitter, even if he's already called in support, he can't tell you to let them pass..." the chief surmises. Tim nods as they exit the tent area and enter the town. Their meal with the govenor plays out exacly as expected. Kieran mentions the Advent threat creating unrest, Roesh asks to relocate while they settle it, the govenor refuses indicating he has everything under control, and bids them a job well done for what they accomplished earlier in the day before sending them on their way. Back in space, Roesh immediately gets ahold of Henry. "Hey, did Govenor Kieran get ahold of anyone while we were planetside?" Roesh asks over the comms. "He placed a call asking for some new ships on a coded channel, who he was contacting we don't know, so we didn't block it so we could find out. No communication came back. I'm assuming it's far enough away that real time communication is impossible for them. Whatever the answer, we'll intercept it and scramble the frequency so Keiran can't get it. That is assuming, of course, that we're still not actively getting involved." Henry says. Tim declares, "Hopefully he does something stupid like trying to force us to fight for him by taking hostages. There's nothing that I'd like to do more then to send down a bunch of soldiers and let them get some aggression out of their systems." "Let's hope it doesn't come to that." Henry says. "You know, that Advent battle drone could be quite usefull to us in the future. If the AI can figure out friend from foe and complete missions accordingly, maybe we build a few and set them loose... Stir some trouble up for the govenor, forcing him to mobilize what's left of his militia thinking there's an Advent invasion party somewhere planetside..." Roesh states. Tim continues the thought, "If the town's people fail their little insurrection, we can whip something up that looks like an Advent scout craft and crash it on the planet's surface and release the drones from there." "Or even right in the middle of it." Henry notes. "Good idea, I'll go whip Todd into shape, you guys do whatever it is you do all day long in the mean time." Roesh jokes. Tim stays on the Assailant in orbit over Finley 1, while Roesh transfers over to the Affliction which trades assignments with the Fulcrum, allowing it access to the repair bay over Finley 2. Upon Arrival, he's informed that the Firebrand was sufficiently repaired having been in orbit since the completion of the repair bay and could also trade assignments with another ship. Tim decides that the star shouldn't be left without carrier support, so he reshuffles all of the assignments, putting the fully repaired Assailant, Fulcrum, Firebrand, and Advocate in orbits around the star. The Affliction and Crux needing the most work are assigned to Finley 2 also putting them right next to the research stations to recieve the first new strike craft as they're designs are completed and integrated into the fleet's systems. The remaining ships, the Contender, Foe Hammer, and Abettor are assigned Finley 1, as well as the Hoshkio so it can make the minor repairs still needing to be done on the two Kols while they sit in orbit.
(DS lore)
Klaxons fell silent as the Advent fleet fell back to Urmal. General Veers stood on the bridge, watching the repair and damge control crews stifle the flames of the destroyed and burning ships. This attack had come just before the attack on Urmal.
This can't have been a coincidence...Someone betrayed me, and the Invincibles...
The Bastion shook underneath his feet, jarring his attention, as another piece of rubble smacked into the damaged hull. This attack, while it had taken no capital ships with it, had decimated his fleet.
Over 40 Javelis frigates, Hoshikos, Cobalts, and Kodiaks just...gone. This is going to hurt in the long-term unless...
"You! Get a line up to Admiral Draakjacht. We need assistance," Veers told a passing Communications Officer, "and tell him to bring as many ships as he can spare."
"Yes sir." The officer replied, before rushing off to his station to relay the call.
If the Unity thinks they've beaten me, they're wrong...
Turning his gaze back to the destroyed ships Veers looked at the burning hulks of the Radiance Battleship and the Halcyon Carrier that his damaged fleet had risked so much to destroy.
The Advent fleet will burn for this...he mused, eyes on the flames writhing around the destitute shipwrecks...They will all burn.
I agree with both comments above me. I'll have more on this story once I can confer with Draak on what's gonna go down.
