Can anyone remember when we used to be explorers? - Jean Luc Picard
once a while ago, there was a TOS Ship Model Addon pack, but now it looks like it isnt there anymore, is there a reason why?
I will put it back up soon, had to change it to suit new main build
What are the pros and cons to the Assault cruiser and the Virulent class? The Virulent is listed as the more versatile but the Assault Cruiser really does damage and the energy dampening upgrade is really effective.
Both ships have the ability.
The Breen ships convert damage to antimatter, restore hull points, and get an armor boost from their passive. At equal fleet points, unsupported, the Virulent is fairly close in durability, but does less damage, and doesn't have as much utility from it's antimatter supply.
If you have the proper supporting abilities from the Jem'Hadar elites, it's a whole different ball game. The Virulent will be massively more powerful in the right conditions, but you can't have your perfect fleet everywhere and those elites are slow movers. The Virulent also has a decloaker.
A rapid response fleet has to comprise non Jem'Hadar ships to be effective. None of the Cardassians have the kind of damage output the Breen ships are capable of. The Assault Cruiser is your heavy weapon platform that can get places in a timely fashion. It's the best option for siege breaking, particularly in combination with the shield restoring trade ports as you won't need to worry about repairing the hull. Using your main fleet to stop an incursion any real distance away will be suicidally slow.
Interesting. Thanks for the insight.
Looks like the No'Jub'Etlh shield is showing wrong.
Is it known if the Borg ships in Q-Who? and Best of Both Worlds were a Scout-class cube?
Yes, and it was the very same cube in both episodes. The Scout Cube is something we conjured up to separate it from the standard cube seen in First Contact (Do not confuse it with the crashed borg scout ship that carried Hue). We just haven't made a separate model to represent the Q Who/BOBW cube yet. So the first contact cube model is used as a placeholder.
Any hints what may be coming for the Christmas (wahoo!) release? Still enjoying the latest music additions and the Dominion revamping.
I want to make a confession: I've been playing as the Klingons and really enjoying it.
At first I thought I would just try them to learn about their weaknesses as I usually play Federation.
But the next day I loaded them up again.
The first Excelsior I destroyed gave me a chill. As the battle raged the cold dread morphed into the warm glow of satisfaction. When it was over, two med cruisers, hundreds of wounded aboard, the ensign (acting Capt) surrendered and asked for mercy. Swiftly it came, "qaStaHvIS qul" (fire at will) I roared. Oh closure! Sweet closure. The most satisfying ending to a long and fruitless relationship.
I will never go back to playing those self righteous Prime Directive spouting hypocritical bastards.
So raise a tankard of blood wine and I'll see you in Stovokor you p*****s!
backs out of the room slowly...
P.S. And I "NEVER" liked you Riker; not once, not ever, not even a little bit.
i'm working on an intensive balance sheet for those familiar with my work.
the ships will depend on the type of warp core used to supply the power for those heavy guns. Weapons, engines, and shields feed off of the warp core while thrusters use no power. Sensors will be part of the backbone of the game. The resources are metal, energy, and crew.
kudos to a call to arms and sacrifice.
hey, star trek insurrection's still fresh.
So I decided to play Federation again.
I didn't realize how much I missed winning. (whining?)
So here I stand, hat in hand, hoping you'll take me back. I know I done you wrong baby but I can change.
Of course you'll take me back you self-righteous, glad handing, inter-planetary peace making pukes.
I hate myself. And I hate you. And I don't like to lose. But I like winning more than anything.
So beam me up you bastards.
backs out of the transporter slowly...
P.S. sigh
I was thinking of buying a new computer. I assume the mod is compatible with Windows 8.1?
Loads of people are playing Sins on 8.1 fine so there shouldn't be.
Thanks sir.
If you computer has no problems running sins, then you shouldn't have a problem running SoA 2. Your OS has nothing to do with how a mod runs. It has everything to do on how the game itself runs... I tested Sins, and the mod with 8.1 a while ago, and Windows 8.1 has no issues running Sins, or the mod that i can see. With the exception of the 32 bit 2 gig issue. Which that has always been there. I am assuming when Windows 10 arrives it will be the same thing. Since it seems from my point of view to be a built up 8.1. Much like how Windows 7 was built up from Vista. I have been testing the betas microsoft has been releasing, but i don't dare try to run games inside virtual box on my laptop (its too old).
I remember a time when you dared everything, even looked bravely into the face of cloaking and survived.
Perhaps the true reason you no longer dare to dare:

LOL! Fiction can be fun..
When it came to modding the game i was pretty brave (lost count on how many time i "broke it")
However, When it comes to this laptop being the ONLY PC i have, and having very little funds to replace it. I tend to show just a "little" more restraint. I am not a big fan of bar-b-qued CPU's, and toasty GPU's
myfist0 is never wrong about female collectives.
Your argument is invalid.
Since we all know the Feds are the good guys they would never bomb planets, I had an idea.
What if in place of the bombing animation of mushroom clouds were replaced with mutiple Fed icons instead?
It would give the impression that the planet is being taken over instead of being bombarded. When it reaches zero you just take it over as always.
The bombing missiles animation could be replaced with shuttlecraft .
You would just need a Fed sound effect to replace the bombs.
What you think.? It would separate SOA2 as the only mod that doesn't bomb.
Wbino
Nah the Federation doesn't bomb planets at all...
The first vid is to provide perspective. Next are examples of where a planet was bombed (though ONLY Kirk would have a torpedo launched on himself!). There are more examples of where a federation starship "bombed" a planet.
In a perfect universe the feds wouldn't have to carpet bomb planets, but the SoA 2 universe is far from perfect. The Feds are not as "nice".
Will there still be a Christmas release?
New Horizons has been working a lot on the sounds, but I have been busy battling the forces of evil here on earth lately. I will jump in group chat and see what we can do. May not be anything major.
