Also; is there any way to get the ships to stop flying in circles when they are already in weapons range? Frustratingly annoying to have them fly OUT of weapons range once they are already there when the target didn't move.
They are all behaving like the strike craft do. How is that turned off so they behave like ships again?
Edit: Actually after just loosing 3 capital ships to pointless strafing, I'm too frustrated with the strafing to keep playing the mod. Nice aside from that though.
This is intentional so they behave like Star Trek ships, which almost exclusively utilize strafing run style attack patterns. If you want them to stay closer to target you can always queue move orders around said target.

They keep moving our of range of the support ships. That's how they got killed.
I have no problem with the smaller ships behaving like that but the capital ships have no business doing that.
The large ships do not behave like jet planes. Galaxy class firing on a cardy is a excellent example.
Have the big ships behave like big ships. Let the smaller ships do the fighter attacks.
Plus in a game where facing matters; having the ships spend half to 2/3s of the time facing the wrong direction because
the AI has been set to do strafing attacks over placement or facing of units is a totally unneeded mechanic.
I shouldn't have to micromanage 16+ capital ships and a hundred other ships just because someone thought it "would be cool" to make them look like strikecraft.

Is anyone else finding phase lanes that are coming from the center that confuse the scout? I found one and the scout kept going back and forth from the center to the edge, sorry I forgot to screen shot it.
I never did see that, they are changing movement on us. I am not sure what you mean by phase lane from center, you mean the star? or 2 wells on top of one another? I have seen scouts change direction a lot when you have a bunch and another ship calculates its move to where the one you were watching was going to go.
A save game would be good for this.
This will not change, so please, either get used to it, or feel free to uninstall it.
what I mean is that the phase lane is coming from where the planet is and goes straight down, perpendicularly, the scout would go towards the planet from about three to five seconds and then turn to were it came from for three to five second until the Borg killed it, sorry I forgot to save the game because that was in Borg territory.
I have another question/bug report: the Norway ships do not follow fleet orders. when I tell the fleet to attack they ether just move to were the enemy is or keep shooting at that other enemy instead of focusing on the Queen.
That is an odd one, psychoak just checked the file and it is a basic normal support cruiser with auto-join fleet on, they even prefer ff, and not all ships do.
I will see if I can get to run some tests today.
If the planet was on top of another, the phase lane exit is in a really odd spot, in the middle of the well. It should be very rare and the scout would have pathed it if it wasn't killed.
It was slowly getting closer to the planet so I believe you are right.
I'm playing right know and I found a small typo on the Fed research "Basic Crew Training"; it says that the Max Trainable Level goes from 2 to 3 but after research you can train to level 4. Unless it means that we can buy three levels?

And yes those are Danube runabouts; I made the three Elite ships that have squads able to use the Danube, but not the Akira, because I do not have time to play online and it helps immersion sense we see them from the Enterprise.
I just tried something; when the Norways are in their own fleet they follow attack orders.
This is a general Sins issue, support ships in a fleet will ignore attack orders and finish their move order, even breaking fleet cohesion limitations.
This only takes place when using fleets.

I just noticed someone is beating the BORG! WTF!
I was playing on normal and the map was not very forgiving; mostly higher tier worlds and uncolonizable gravity wells.
They were right next to me so I blitzed them; they only had three planets: their Homeworld, the asteroid, and the K class planet I liberated from them.
This was a SOA2 Medium-Large map.
Here's the whole map;
as you can see there's mostly higher tiered planets and uncolonizable gravity wells.
Let me guess, all the other pussies in the quadrant had their hands out offering this and that after you kicked borgs ass.

No. After I realized the Borg had been hamstrung from the beginning I quit. What's the fun in a Borg match if you can kill the Borg in under half an hour? I mean, I only lost three fleets before I made them lose! I didn't even lose any Elite Ships to assimilation or destruction.
I also think I may have found a bug
at first I thought it was just a typo but after blitzing the tech tree to get toxic planets I noticed that it did not change. I just tried to colonize it and it did not work.
Ya I have to change that icon, I wanted a type of toxic that was just too bad for colonizing. You can tell by the nuetral roids.
Ya, I agree about Borg. In my 10 player, hge multi unfairs with 2 of each player, the whole missions is to KILL BORG, Try my best to get klingons and the other federation as allies. Once Borg is toast I am done.

That's all we do, the rest is added by the sins engine according to what is in the research file.
It starts at 0. Ships start out at level 1, so level 1 is the starting point, 3 trainable levels being level 4 psychoak

I'm playing and noticed that the Romulan and Klingon Diplomacy voices are the same, I think they are both using the Klingon voice.
Also the Borg elite shipyard is just named "Shipyard" not "Elite Shipyard"
I will take a look at the Borg yards.
The Fed now has a couple custom diplomacy voices but not all, I had to get rid of the Vasari voice and make placeholder files for when Mike makes the new sounds, they are all TEC sounds.
Got a few more models ingame for the nest patch
I've been saying for a long time that we don't have enough ships designed specifically for patching the nest. This is a welcome addition. My parakeet is very excited to play this.
She even tweeted about it.
