im not sure if it was already posted or u already patched it, but romulan ships just jump pretty often to enemy ships which they attack. perhaps its somethink about the cloak ability?
i was playing borg and wanted to research the scout cube research but he told me when it was ready that i had also to research the normal cube research... is that a bug? cause 20000 for a cube is pretty xtream.
3rd not a bug just a constructive critic: why is the galor class sooo damn weak?? ^^ cant u change it with one of the two new ships??
and one ability suggestion for a galor ability in game. the cardis are famous for strong phasers and strong shiphulls and amors, but weak shields and torpedos. perhaps a ability could be done which decrease enemy shield by 500 points or somethink like that...

I LOVE THIS MOD!
Playing as the fed vs the Borg makes for epic battles. So far my fave battle was a small one between a large scout cube and my soveriegn and galaxy glass with about 20 romulon frigates backing me up, was an epic battle! Although all the romulon frigates where crushed.
great mod guys, really impressed, but only 3/5 races have abilities... i expected that with the borg, the short notice and all, but the dominion not so much...
Note that many of the abilities have been kinda fleshed out at the last minute - there was enough work to do just making the thing function well and look pretty that not all of the balancing could get done and make a Jan release. We're always on the lookout for more and exciting abilities, but it's hard to match them up with what we can work with in Sins.
In DS9, we never saw much that was very special from the Doms to make an ability on. They just had huge and tough ships, which makes it hard to create an ability for. Note that with the firepower and armor they have, their cap ships already have an amazing advantage.
Several plans have been floated for some awesome borg abilities (several of which were tried out), but we're still working to make sure they don't make them so overpowered that nobody can play against them (that's been a problem!). Similarly, with the assimilate function, the borg have such an awesome ability that we're hard pressed to give them anything more that's useful but not overpowering.
From the feedback we're getting, we'll look at better balancing races/ships. One obvious conclusion right now seems to be that cap ships (esp. Fed) are overpowering, so we may need to adjust some of the parameters (e.g., supply cost of non-cap ships or $$$ cost of building those cap ships).

I have asked the Project Admin to post a planned time for a multiplayer game this weekend on the thread. Since Stardock is releasing a new patch soon, we may not have long before ICO is no longer available for online play.
If a new time isn't posted, I'll propose something in the thread (not up in the banner). Tentatively, it will probably be afternoon Saturday and/or Sunday (US Eastern) so that the UK crowd can still play and aren't waiting around 'till midnight for the first game to start.

Class: H'Veik Class Warbird
Affiliation: Romulan Star Empire
Description: Due in part to the considerable cost of building and maintaining the massive D'Deridex Class Warbirds, the Romulan Empire focussed ship design efforts of the mid-24th century on creating smaller ships with most of the capability of their larger bretherin. While the most widely recognized result of this effort is the fast and heavily-armed Noraxan Warbird, it's smaller cousin the H'Veik has begun to appear along the Romulan/Federation border in considerable numbers in recent years. Though its combat abilities are not fully known, the H'Veik appears to be a medium cruiser, somewhat larger in size than Federation Starships such as the Akira class. Given what is known about the Noraxan Warbird (the H'Veik was produced by the same joint Imperial Armada/Tal'Shiar development program), it is expected that the weapons and survivability of the H'Veik Class Warbird exceed that of any comparably-sized Federation or Klingon vessel.
Abilities: H'Veik Class Warbirds have been observed operating advanced cloaking devices. Due to its size, it is expected that advanced weapons systems may be installed on this class of warbird in the future.
This mod is... there are no words. Your skills as modders are proven, and I have no doubt that you could get a job with a major developer with this in your portfolio. I mean, this is ver .04- and it's better than most the offical games released under the Star Trek IP.
One thing I'm wondering about- Dominion, Keldon Class Capital ship, it says in the description "Elite Carrier/No Strikecraft", but it does in fact have fighters- five squadrons worth of Advent strikecraft. It also appears to be larger than it appears on screen, as the zoom in when focused on it is capped at a much greater distance than with other ships.
Federation are a blast to play, and I only just tried out the begining of the Dominion. but we need more Breen! Breen are awesome! Can we get a Breen ship for the TBA structure-killer? and all the little comments in the Dominion ship descriptions are really funny- "Seeking individual with scales," etc.
Will report back when I've tested some Romulan/Borg/Klingon action!
P.S. 300% shield mitigation ability on the Federation Capital ships makes them practically untouchable- I'm so glad the Borg can't assimillate capitals!
Edit: G.Adm Prawn, that's my favorite Romulan ship I've seen so far too- really well done, fits perfectly!
Just to make sure the right people receive credit where credit is due, the H'Veik Warbird was originally designed by Atolm in addition to several other romulan ships of similar design concept. I believe the ships were created for use in Starfleet Command but have since dispersed throughout the Trek gaming community.
great work but there are some gamebreaking issues, i don't know if they have been posted:
-federation cap ships are invincible with raised shield harmonics even one point is enough
-you can't turn on/off cloak for all you vessels at once (at least not for the caps) which makes it really micro intensive
it could be an extremely powerfull ability though ( i loved raiding with my 16 norexan => decloak throw on shield get of a salvo => cloak => rinse and repeat)
-the borg mostly spam ships of other races i played against them as romulans and they even build romulan starbases and not their own
-the feds feel a bit op (without the first point), but i guess this is because they are most polished race with abilites

I am in the process of uploading a combined SOA2 0.4E release. Everyone can thank Ghettomire for making us a complete installer for the mod. All you will have to do is download unzip and install. Will post the link when upload is complete. Because of extreme demand for the mod File fronts servers are probably screwing things up.

-NOTICE RE: MULTIPLAYER GAMES THIS WEEKEND-
The SOA2 Team has given me the head's up to set up that planned multiplayer game this weekend. The time and requirements (SOA 0.4E plus hotfix) are posted above in the topic header.
We're good as long as Stardock doesn't push the next update too soon. We prolly have a week or two to enjoy this mod, so let's get our game on and make a break for Sto'Va'Kor!
I did download the hotfix... I just made the mistake of not trying out the feds after I did. Keldon still has fighters, so I guess that's intentional? or they're placeholders?
Aww, you scaled back the mitigation increase... I liked having a few galaxy class caps hold off whole klingon armadas...
one question, when will the unicomplex be in?

The Keldon should NOT have fighters. The Leviathan should have fighters. I know the roletypes for the two ships are switched, but it should not effect the AI at all. A carrier roletype does not have to have strike craft in order for the AI to build it.

Great to hear from you, Stress. Not to futz with your trek logic (my knowledge taps out before the Dominion War even starts), but I think the development crew has come up with much larger plans for the Dom Cap Ship lineup in your absence than you would believe...

lol Well we might just have it fixed before you even begin to build 0.5 . The team is getting a little bored We added a massive amount of things to this build the last few days of release. The borg being one of them! Opps guess the switch up was my fault on the two ships and fighters. The keldon wont be a cap for much longer at either rate. But removing her fighters is a easy fix.
