yep as mentioned borg start with talon scouts. they also are able to build a romulan warbird (old type)
- also my borg unimatrix deployer doesnt build a unimatrix, it builds a stock Sins model, anyone else have this prob?
some romulan research in amongst the borg research aswell....
But otherwise AMAZING WORK , only played the borg so far and not even finished yet!
The unimatrix did not make it into this release. Our Borg expert has had a lot going on and was unable to finish, but don't worry, it'll get in.
The romulan ship for the borg, I believe, is to keep the AI happy and fully functional. Will probably be replacing it at some point.
As for the quick start ships, thanks for letting us know, it will be fixed.
Also the typo for the cube has been corrected.
...and the borg frigate factory is titled "Romulan Warbird Factory".

now to tha game: i played just my first game roms vs borg. its so epic... never saw such an good st game! THANK YOU!!!
So far the only thing I've noticed is what has alread been mentioned... no uni-complex and the Borg starting with Romulin scouts.
Other than that it seems to be playing quite smoothly. Any ETA on the Uni-complex? I hate seeing cubes circling a Vasari station...

* Can build excelsior class without research prerequisites. I like .
* Intrepid class- should be possessive "their" in string, rather than positional "there".
* At least the borg AI will refuse to fire on the Sovereign. Can be helpful, but slightly unfair.
* Borg use Romulan (well, orkulus) starbase rather than their own UniComplex.
* Dominion starbase is called "Federation Starbase", using the fed mesh but stock Advent wireframe/textures.
* Federation Saber class is using the stock advent sounds for their support roletype.
I just wanted to say thanks for all the hard work and obvious effort that went into this mod. It's already better then any star trek game to come before it.
And I've found the reason that certain ships of the Federation will not be fired upon - the ability Quatum Shield Harmonics increases thier sheild mitigation by 100%, raising thier total to 115%. Ships that reach 100% shield mitigation will not be fired upon because no damage will be done. At least the Sovy, Defiant, and Galaxy are affected. Didn't check all the ships though.
The defiant doesn't seem to be affected (it doesn't have this ability), but that would explain why the Galaxy and the Sovereigns aren't even fired upon.
My bad on the defiant then. Also, at first glance the tractor beam ability seems a bit abusable. Am I just not seeing the obvious counter to it?
I'm currently playing as the Borg, and unable to destroy two Nebula class ships. All Borg ships refuse to fire on them.

Maybe someone could help me out here, I am not sure if this is a problem or not.
The borg look like, in the description, they use disruptors, yet I cannot find anything in the tree for upgrading them. Also, in the tree, it shows research for wave cannons, yet in the descriptions, doesn't say it applies to anything. Any chance these two are related?
We will be releasing a patch to correct various issues found with SOA2. Please understand that this patch will only fix minor errors and will not add any new content.
Federation cannot research anything in their "Federation" Tree, it just hangs with all of your points in the research.
Falleen9, haven't been able to see that problem- at least not in multiplayer. I'm able to research anything just fine.
Patch Released !!! Simply download extract copy to your SOA2 0.4E folder and overwrite. Enjoy.

One thing I noticed and was just going to post... might be too late now.... is I'm playing the Borg and I see where I can research the light frigate (I'm assuming the coffin), but I can also build it without researching anything.
The other thing I noticed... not necessarily a bug, is the pirate ships occupying other worlds are really slow compaired to my ships... My little Borg scouts are literally flying circles around the pirate ships.
* Nova Class ships also use the Psi voices.
* Dominion seem to get Venture class fighters? This may have something to do with the starbase mixup.
* Dominion phaser turrets have stock damage value of 20, rendering them useless.
* Defiant cloaking device flickers on and off (ie it won't stay cloaked). Not sure if it's meant to just sit there and cloak for a second, but guessing not.
* CLARIFICATION about earlier, the research button doesn't appear until you have a research station, not when you press it- sorry my bad on that one.
* In the Romulan tech tree, the "Damper Barrier" makes reference to protecting Borg civilian structures.
Sorry to keep heaping this on you guys, but I guess that's what betas are for .
And I'm guessing you're gonna be swapping between this and ME2 right?

Hello all Just wanted to let everyone one that we appreciate the feed back and support. But please be aware that we are not done with the mod at this time and that some factions share resources. We are aware of what is were. It is only there temporarily till the models for those slots are done. Also please start posting bugs on our bug site. It makes tracking bugs much easier. On the Defiants cloak and with all cloaks I recommend not having autocast enabled, for some odd reason it will always decloak after a few seconds, especially in battle.

Yeah okay shall start using the code site, but on clarification on the Defiant issue, it does that whether it's set to autocast or whetehr you manually cast it- either way it still just drops out of cloak instantly. Only seems to affect defiant though?

I have tried this out and cant reproduce, did you check your antimatter levels?
I had enough antimatter to cast, maybe it was just a glitch though. Unfortunately I've wiped over the save file now .
OK, I spotted a small graphic problem on the Borg Coffin... a small white rectangle (or 2 small squares) in the top and bottom near the front of the ship. I think it maybe showing up right after they assimilate a ship, but I'm not positive about that part. It doesn't seem to be effecting the game play in any way, just doesn't look right.
As for game play... I was just now really astounded to watch 4 Borg coffins take down a Pirate base by themselves. I set them up to auto-assimilate and auto-regenerate and then just let them go. I lost 1 coffin but assimilated a good half dozen pirate ships. The only thing they coffins couldn't do is planatary bombardment, so afterwards I followed them up with a sphere. But the coffins by themselves secured the base before I brought in the sphere... tough little suckers!!!!
