Happy holidays to all you smart geeks out there!
Cheap bastard that I am (cant afford to upgrade my XP to 7, love all the glitz of windows 7), I have windowblinds 7 & like what I have seen on the Xlive site www.windowsxlive.net. But since I am not only cheap but paranoid, I was wondering if anyone had ideas or experience about using that transformation pack & combining it with the impulse/stardock/objectdock/windowblind modifications.
I wouldn't even try it, most likely it would mess things up so bad that you would have to do a clean install of your OS. Transformation packs normall go in and 'hacker' the OS to allow you to change it, Stardock products don't do that and they do not play well together, at all.
I have windows XP SP3 and tried the transformation pack. I heeded the advice by PCworld.com to create a restore point before installing the pack and I am glad I did. The transformation pack does not play well with windowblinds and the pack will also slow your pc down. I uninstalled it and restored my computer to the point before I installed it and all is well. My advice is to forego trying it out but if you do be sure to create that restore point!
I would start saving my pennies for Windows 7. You will be glad you did. Just plan on doing a clean install. It's the easiest way to go. You will love it and it's well worth the money. Then you can play all you want with the glitzy stuff.
Thanks to all of you for costing me money but saving me heartache!
