Ok...starting a new post, but because the other topic on this forum about Objectdock is a derailed disaster.
I have one very simple question.
Is Stardock going to release a new version of ObjectDock that plays nicer with Windows 7?
It 'sort of' works for me in Win7 32-bit.
All I want know is if Stardock is going to upgrade this lovely little piece of software.
If they do, I'll buy the plus version.
If not, I'm going to start looking for a different dock utilty to spend my money on.

From what I read on winstep.net winstep has a Dock that sounds like it puts ObjectDock to shame but you have to buy the full package to get it or all the features at $40.00 I just can't see me buying it just to have the Dock...

The average user would have a much harder time customizing destopx to suit their needs than they would Object Dock.
DesktopX has not functioned properly (completely) for a long time now and the new beta issues don't seem to have been addressed yet either.
I admire the patience you must constantly endure with creating DX Themes.
Not to mention putting up with a very picky tester.
All they have to do is download the theme, drag and drop his shortcuts, just like Object Dock.
A new version will be released, no doubt there. When it will be released? Now that's a question on everyone's lips. It hasn't been released in the past 2 & 1/2 years, it won't be released in time for Christmas like I've predicted 4 months ago and beyond that it's anyone's guess. Customers' frustrations are falling on deaf ears at Stardock
What problems do you all have? I am using win 7 64 bit and haven't had any problems with object dock. I use it just to dock folders and apps. Haven't used it for much else since going to win 7 but for that it's perfect here. I understand Rocket Dock works on win 7. I used Rocket Dock on my XP rig and it worked fine.
Chasbo, have you seen this thread: https://forums.stardock.com/357439 ? Lots of bugs are mentioned in there and elsewhere on this forum. Those who use OD+ for very little are likely to encounter significantly fewer issues, that's obvious. It's not fair to extrapolate like that, because it's not taking into account the full scope of the application's features and abilities.
ObjectDock Plus is a main staple on my 2 machines. Running it on W7 Pro x64 with no issues (except for the known start menu/sys tray issues). Works wonderfully.

You might want to give NeXuS (free) 9.11 a shot. Works very well with my W7 Professional x32 system.v Object Dock will be updated, after all, it's one of (if not the) most popular items around.

Yes. That's what I'm saying. No problems, no bugs. Just easy functionality.
Why aren't they just making the link to Objectdock 1.90[b] available to us is baffling and infuriating me .
Before I upgraded to windows 7 my 64bit vista's objectdock functioned perfectly, and now I just simply don't have the options available to me since the date arbitrarily reached November 4th.

Stardock was my favorite software vendor until this shenanigan. x.x.
That is not a minor issue. I want full sys tray functionality in Win7 64-bit, so I'm looking forward to an update.
Didn't say it was minor; just said that it works great albeit the lack of these 2 functionalities.
With all due respect, I cannot believe that. All people who posted in that thread cannot be wrong. The hibernation bug has been acknowledged by Stadock. For the bugs that I reported I provided proof. So many people wouldn't be asking about OD 2.0/64-bit/Win 7 if they didn't have issues. There's simply too much evidence to the contrary of what you've stated.
Different people may use the applications in different ways and so may not encounter all the same issues.
Has that one been fixed with DX? You can use the windows system tray but the DX System tray has been fubar'd for a long time.
Fine. Don't believe it. I use OD+ extensively and have encountered no problems on Vista Ultimate x64 or W7 Pro x64, except for the obvious lack of start button & sys tray.
My saying that I don't have any problems does not negate the fact that you have problems on your end.

Now I was just stating my experience like you have SO many times. Not everyone has issues with OD+. Period.
In my earlier post I asked if Mirsguy could reproduce the bugs. Reproducing means using an application and any related ones in a specific manner to elicit a particular behaviour. He may not have encountered them through the way he uses OD+, but has he actually taken the steps to install the relevant 3rd party apps to reproduce a bug. My impression is that he has not and as such his statement that he could not reproduce bugs in that thread is invalid.
You've been on this site for less than 6 months, you're not even a current customer (so how do you know so much about OD+?) and the only times I ever see you around are to hate on ObjectDock, with the same complaints over and over.
I'd be in the same boat considering that I am a paying customer for software that we can't even use anymore because the actually WORKING version has been removed as a download link.
I think he's valid for hating on it and it's kinda upsetting to see there are so many blind hopefuls following the (continued functioning) of the product. I mean I was the same way when there was an actual work-around, but now it's complete BS and very upsetting.
People on these forums actually support the lack of no warning to the 64-bit problem by saying "Well it's not listed", when LOTS of software products work without explicitly listing or attemping to work for 64-bit architectures. I would've never bought it if I saw that the company removed 64-bit work arounds and simply won't create a situation where us paying customers using modern systems are shafted by not making it immediately available again. .
Myself I have not one problem using Objectdock Plus here... everything works for me in windows 7. There are going to be issues with software though if you do not have windows 7 installed correctly. Which a lot of people do not have this correct.
I'd love to go into all about this subject; but it always comes out where they think they are right and I do not know anything. But with a proper install any program will work correctly with windows 7. Make sure you have the system partition for the boot drive; this partition is essential. It is not hidden and in most cases is only present for a clean install. Upgrades will not show this and will have compatiblity program problems as such.
7 has more compatibilty with programs than any OS esp. Vista. Look at your UAC and properties to make adjustments. Even refine your settings via the event logs and/or such.
Having a proper install and good working knowledge of windows 7 will make things much better for not just Stardock programs; but anything else you may want to use or use.

I had raised the issue of the SDC build not being on Impulse last week but it seems nothing has changed.
I can't promise anything will change as ObjectDock isn't my area (WindowBlinds, Deskscapes etc are), but I will try again to see if I can get this sorted out.
