With the end of the decade approaching, I've been seeing a lot of "Top _____ of the Decade" lists popping up. So I thought I would make my own, but instead of them just being based off of my own (very biased ) opinions, it should be everybody's opinions. So for the next 3ish weeks, everybody will be able to nominate whatever games they think are the best of the decade. I will put them all into a list here, and at the end of the 3 weeks, everyone will get to vote on what they think are the best. Voting will be open for 2 weeks, then I will post the results.
Rules:
Nominations are closed! Cast your votes for your favorite games of the decade here: http://surveys.polldaddy.com/s/7600F3F8F369957A/ You may only vote once, so make it count. When you vote, make sure only one game is ranked 1, one game is ranked 2, and so on.
Nominations
Top 25 Games of the Decade, as voted by You!!:
This list goes nowhere without Okami.
It has been added. The initial list was just the ones I could think of off the top of my head.
Sword of the Stars, with all expansions. Turn-based space 4x with Homeworld-inspired real-time tactical combat. Not surprising since the team behind it worked on the original HW and Cataclysm. I know no one else will nominate or vote for this, but I had to nominate it as its the only turn-based game I enjoy.
God of War 1 and 2. Epic hack-and-slash adventures set during mythical Greece, and you kill everything from humans to zombies to centaurs to harpies to minotaurs to satyrs, all in a glorious M-rated gorefest. Plus the storyline isn't bad either.
That's all I got.
Sins of a Solar Empire definitely.
And
Destroy all Humans (the series not a particular game)
This game really redefined alot of things because in most alien games, and indeed in most games being made, you never have a chance to play as the bad guy but in this game, you're not the humans, you're the aliens!
Right now I can think of a few excellent games not on the list.
1st. Galatic Civilizations 2 and it's expansions. I'd say it's still the best 4x game out there as well as one of the top five strategy games ever.
2nd. Elderscrolls III: Morrowind...So much to this RPG.
3rd. Metroid Prime. Best FPS/FPA I have played to date. I had to put a metroid game in there. Sadly the best one ever is too old for this list, (Super Metroid)
I would have to say
1. Shadow of the Colossus,
2. Rome: Total War,
3. Bioshock.
Shadow of the Colossus is an artform and one of the most beautiful games ever made (in every way), Rome set the standard for all the current Total War games, and Bioshock was just gaming art as well.
Picking Games I spent a lot of time on:
Civ 4
Gal Civ2
Plants & Zombies (fun innovative tower defense)
Advance Wars
Roller Coaster Tycoon (2 & 3)
Catan (xbox live)
Call of Duty
Star Wars: Knight of the Old Republic
Team Fortress 2
Dragon Age Origin
Call of Duty & Call of Duty: United Offensive
Best expansion pack of any game I've ever played.
Half Life 2.
Lugaru <--Incredible. Simply incredible.
Dwarf Fortress
Dragon Age: Origins
Warcraft 3
World of Warcraft (Unfortunately : / )
Half-Life 2
Did The Sims come out after 2000? Maybe the Sims.
Rise of Nations.
Supreme Commander.
I think this list needs to have counter strike: source. This game was MASSIVE and was just recently beat out by modern warfare 2.
No Fallout 3? Gotta be added.
Portal
I think everything else in the Orange Box has been said.
Batman: Arkham Asylum
Really solid gameplay plus some interesting storytelling mechanics (I'm thinking of the Scarecrow segments.)
The Sims
Agh cant stand that game ><
Battlefield 2Final Fantasy XCrysisBattle for Middle Earth 2Demigod oh and change Supreme Commander to SupCom: Forged Alliance. Because the Expansion IS that much betterRatchet and Clank series (Epic)And finally MGS4
How dare you leave off elder scroll oblivion, or thief 3 deadly shadow.
For me, the top 10 PC games of the decade (by release date):

3. Final Fantasy X
4. Portal
5. CS: S
Ok, it had been updated up to tesb's post
All of those games are already up
And btw, please, no abreviations. I don't like looking up what they mean if I don't already know
Assassin creed 1, assassin creed 2 and assassin creed bloodline.
Final fantasy dissidia (cant spell it)
How is the voting going to work? We aren't going to have to choose just one of these wonderful games are we?
I'm not completely sure. Ideally, I would use some online survey creator that would list all the nominated games, then you have to choose 25 and rank them in order of which ones you like most. Or maybe you will only get to choose 10, I haven't decided yet. I've spent the last couple hours researching online survey creators, and unfortunetly, the best ones either limit the number of responces on the free version (surveymonkey only lets you have 100 responses) or they don't do what I want them to. Hopefully a lot more than 100 people will respond, so that won't really work.
If I can't find a program that will work, then everyone will rank the games in this thread, and I will tally them up by hand. Obviously not the preferable choice, for me anyway
