When I woke up this afternoon I had a call from GameStop on my caller ID. I called back the store and they said I can come pick up my copy of Dragon Age: Origins in the morning. YAY!!!
By this time tomorrow the Dark Spawn will be falling bloody at my feet.
Should have mine coming in the mail tomorrow. I'm not a huge fan of Gamestop. I've been trying my hardest to avoid all spoilers and trailers for this game. I am ready to unite the armies and slay the Dark Spawn. Too bad I have almost zero time this week to play.
I furthermore can't decide who I want to start as... City Elven Mage, Noble Human Rogue, Dwarven Figher? So many choices... and I want to play them all.
I'm starting as a Human Noble Mage first I think. Then I'll probably start a fighter type to play as a alt. With one I'll make evil choices or bad decisions and with the other I'll be the goody goody.
Man I wish I could play this, but my parents hate games that are rated M.
The Xbox 360 version scored an 8.4 from the AU division from IGN. It sounds good, however I won't be picking it up.
Am I the only one that got it via impulse? Gonna take it awhile to download
And I'm completely against Gamestop. They release games early, buy games then sell them with a 400% profit (power to the players my ass), and do background checks without telling you.
I totally agree with ya Thrawn. Im also getting it on Impulse! Will be downloading at 800-900kps+ thanks to Impulse boost in download speed!
I only buy 360 games now at Target ie get them for $52! Team member discount and gift card with reserve. But then again I got a new pc... so Impulse all the way!
Cant wait to play it though. I was hoping for midnight download but its at 10am pacific... Going to start as a Human Warrior... and go from there!
I bought it off of Amazon. Fast shipping, and they've never done me any wrong. Furthermore, it was the cheapest buy. $47 - $10 off of my next video game purchase = net $37. How could I pass that up?
I got an e-mail from SD telling me they are throwing the switch at 10 tomorrow morning. I was going to sing a 'hallelujah' chorus about it, since my 9:30-10:45 class had been canceled, but then I remebered they're an east coast company.
Which means 7 in the morning my time. Bleh!
I believe they are central/north USA. However the email said it will be aviable for download at 10 am PST which means 1 pm EST.
Luckily I only have to wait for the mail to be delivered to Gamestop. I've been there before when they get their deliveries which usually happens at our store around 10 or 11 in the morning. I guess I'll actually have to get up durring the day and go out in the sunlight and all that crap...damn...lol. I'm on a night schedule. Oh well, it'll be worth it.
I got it off Impulse too. It won't take that long for me to download. Fiber is win. (Unlike say the Champions Online patching process during the free weekend that just ended. God that was terrible.)
I am installing it right now!
The trailers don't really give away any spoilers unless you watch one of the walkthroughs. Don't watch those and you're good to go.
I will be in about an hour and a half. Actually it hit the pirate sites yesterday and even included some of the DLC lol. I could have just grabbed it when I saw it but I figured why bother since I've already paid for a legit copy. I may grab a No-CD patch though so my wife can try out the single player game on her system.
I expect nothing less than a full review from you in a few days Raven
Yeah, I just reread it. I guess the halleluja chorus is a good idea afterall!
Impulse here. Should be available in less then an hour.
I'm leaving for a late lunch, stop by a store to pick up the game guide and then swing by my house to start the download. Then back to work. Hopefully the download will be nearly done when I get out of work.
Then I'll be up till midnight.
I will NEVER have an elf at my side. Enough said lol. I'm going to write a topic sometime about why Dwarves are better then Elves in every possible way.
Of course my friend, of course. I woke up a bit later then I wanted today. I'm just now getting ready to head down to Gamestop.
Anybody buy it off iimpulse having problems? I'm being told that my serial number isn't valid even though its showing up in my games list. It won't download.
I have played for like 2 hours today..I must say, that this game is pretty awesome.
I saw on the DA:O forums a lot of people who bought it through a third party download service are having issues. That's gotta suck. It could be sever server stress too though. I had a problem getting my Stone Prisoner Add-on to work. It kept telling me my code was invalid. I tried at least 10 times over the course of 30 minutes before it accepted my code.
And why arnt you playing right now mister??
These problems with activation highlights the problems with anti piracy measures yet again. Just imagine all the people with cracked versions laughing at the people who pay to stand in line and ask to play the game they have payed for.. The companies selling games should make non intrusive anti piracy stuff or just leave it.
Ah. Yeah a friend of mine got the game fine but his DLC codes weren't working properly. It did start working for me randomly an hour after I posted (and emailed support, but as far as I know they were closed by then anyway). Probably just server load.
Of course by then I was playing WoW. Ah well, I'll actually get some playing time in soon!
This is a truly amazing game from bioware, it looks so beautifull and you get drawn into it's world right away(PC version). I just spent the last 10hours playing and I can't get enough, I just came here on the forums to catch a break, I can easily recommend this game to anyone who likes fantasy rpg games.
It's going to keep me busy while I wait for Mass Effect 2.
I actually had DA:O minimized when I typed that reply . I've been playing non stop for the last 7 hours or so and I'm about to go back for more until I get tired.
The review is coming brother, I'll start a new thread for it and those who have it can review what they've done so far. Also if you play while "Logged In" to the game and community your progress is tracked on-line in a character sheet. I'll post mine before I go to bed so you can follow along . This is the best RPG I've played in a real, Real, long time. So many voices I know too, it's just awesome.
Claudia Black (Farscape, Stargate SG1)
Kate Mulgrew (Captain Janeway on Star Trek Voyager)
Tim Russ (Tuvok on Star Trek Voyager, I think he's on some Disney show now too iCarley or some crap like that)
Tim Curry (Rocky Horror Picture Show, Steven King's It)
Those are only the ones I've picked up by ear so far. I'm sure can find more info on the cast if you Google it. The sound for the game is awesome in general. Anyway, I'll save all this for the review
