As some of you may know, a couple weeks ago my laptop's graphics card gave out on me. A couple days ago, I finally got it back from being repaired, and it is now working good as new with Windows 7 freshly installed. But when I was trying to figure out what my problem was, I restored it back to factory conditions in a vain attempt to fix it. Obviously it didn't work, and I lost all my programs, etc
So now that I have it back, I have been going through the long process of reinstalling everything, which is a total pain Except for my games and apps off Impulse. No digging around looking for CD's or anything, I just have to click install.
Which brings me to the point of this post. I just wanted to say Thank You to Stardock for making the most convenient and easy installer ever (and it's fast)
I only have one small complaint, I was not aware that there is an option in preferences to install short cuts to the desktop. Obviously this is something I could have figured out had I bothered to check everything in the preference menu but still, would be nice to have known this ahead of time or at least be given the option during istallation. Other than that, I think Impulse is great.
Had to reformat my hardrive, impulse made it super easy to reinstall sins and entrenchment. Its very very awesome.
A couple months ago i had to format and reinstall.
My favorites on impulse went back on right away while none of the other games i played i bothered to look for the CD/DVD since it is a huge pain in the butt swapping disks in and out just to play for a short while.
My time is so limited now i don't play during the week not even a 1/2 hour but on the weekends i still play and i find i am just firing up a game for an hour or two at most and might fire up something different later in the day/night.
I would love it if Stardock had the Call Of Duty Series and other popular FPS games like that on impulse. I would just send them a basket of flowers for that alone.
having just installed win7 myself it's fantastic to use impulse.
only niggle would be i had to wait before i could install sequels (e.g. galciv2 DA and TA) it would be nice if there was a que system to do this automagically.
I agree a Que system would be a great feature .
Really? I just tell it to install TA, and it figures out that DA and GalCiv 2 are prerequistes and installs them for me. I've never had to do them sepearately. Same with Entrenchment, it just installs Sins on its own.
