I was going to pick up Torchlight but none of their purchase options really appeal to me. They said you could by directly from them but that site is not up yet. Guess I might have to buy Dragon Age instead.
Ok, I downloaded Torchlight. I must say I've played it more in the last 48 hours then I have Borderlands. Still can't wait for Dragon Age though.
ok , this game is tons of fun and win , i never played diablo 1/2 , but I will be getting 3.
Reluctantly picked it up from Gamersgate (I only use Steam when it's ULTRA cheap or no other option exists).
Took me 20 hours to leisurely stroll through the base singleplayer. I enjoyed it quite a bit! First Diablo-like I have played through since Divine Divinity (which was also the first, hahaha).
Well worth the $20. I tried Titan Quest a while back, and it for some reason it just didn't do it for me like this does. It's simple, it's fun, it works, and Blizzard is probably banging their heads on the table for not getting Diablo 3 out faster after seeing the incredible demand for this game.
Also, check the modding sites for this game. There's a semi-official 'respec potion' mod, and more importantly a semi-official BEES summon spell mod. That you can give your dog. Holy crap.
there is also a mod that makes the map a bit easier to see, very good imho.
Stardock and runic probably didn't agree on pricing...that would be my first guess.
Well, I played the demo...*scratches head* I'm definately not a sad panda.
Best $20 I've spent on a game lately. Cool mods are already out to spice it up.
Why is it not on Impulse? Could be they could not strike a deal ...
But what I really think is Brad tried the demo and the cruel mon'isters "pwned" him! "Oh noes! I is dead again!"
Game does need a bit of polish. Having to dink with the settings file to change key bindings is just not acceptable for the average gamer. Not for me neither, come to think of it.
Then too, in a game like this, being able to conveniently bind your extra mouse buttons helps a lot. This also has yet to be added.
Those are the worst "cons" I can think of, though.
I read a thoughtful post from someone who has had a chance to play the current build of Diablo 3 at an Expo and who also has Torchlight. He said that clearly Diablo 3 is a much bigger and deeper game; but that until Diablo 3 comes out, Torchlight is about as close as you are going to get.
I am loving this one. Picked it up for my son (who loved Fate) and I have been playing it quite a bit.
Very nice little touches they added to the game.
This is a superb game! Just to bad that I can't get it through Impulse...
Its on sale for $9.99 over at "the hot vapor digial distriburtor" .
i suggest everyone buy a copy, as it is THAT good, I am on my 3rd play through, this time with the Alchemist
