I really Like Distant Stars, and would love to play it online with people, I love huge maps but I am willing to play anything. I live in the Eastern Time zone of the US and have a huge window of avalibilty so if anyone else is interested drop me a line. Hope to hear from someone

Well, that sucks. Two attempts, and no go. First time, it blackscreened on load.
Second time, it loaded fine... then a few minutes into the game, it acted as if it were paused. All I could see were other people trying to pause and unpause the game as if that would fix it... and it went on like that for a minute or two, so I quit figuring everyone's game was stuck too.

LOL, I got owned. ofcourse i was trying to hard to take pics. Then I got the blue screen of death cuz i over heated my CPU. Thats what i get for trying to 3 things at once. DOH!!!!!!

You were fine, the game acted as though it were paused because someone was lagging / crashed. People hit pause / unpause (I THINK???) because it resets the disconnect counter and gives the lagger a chance to reconnect. When you see this happening, just wait it out, the game continued after a couple minutes and the player disconnected.

It played too fast for my tastes at the beginning, though it slowed down to an acceptable speed by end of the game...and just curious, does DS always give that much money? It was like income was doubled or something.
Also, because some of the planets can take so much development (Urban worlds!!!), I think DS lends itself to maps that have a few more uncolonizable gravwells so the game becomes a bit more tactical to secure the good spots. I've made a few tailored "Map Designer" random maps that lowered the number of rare worlds vs lower quality gravwells and I find these play out quite nicely and are a bit more tactical. Just my preference, I suppose, but DS seems to lend itself to this style of play.
