I've been playing T.E.C. many times and the Capital Ships when Auto named have TDN I imagion it's like uss for modern ships I was just wondering what TDN stood for.
A.) Yes I am blinded to any but my opinion.
B.) For some reason being chided for being childish and for being stubborn made me think of some stuff: The UN and NATO are military organizations comprised of multiple militaries. TDN could be something similar and avoid the Naval ship classification. Just pointing it out.
(Im still right though i think nyah nyah)
Calleen, your taking TDN out of context. It is only found in ONE place. If it signified Unification and everyone coming together then youd find it EVERYWHERE. Basically right now, your arguing that TDN is another name for TEC. Because TEC is what the Military for the TO is called.
TDN is NOT a reference to other branches. Its simply a MARKER on a ship. Its NOT supposed to represent ALL branches of the Military. Its only supposed to allow others to know WHAT FACTION that particular ship belongs too.
I seriously dont understand why people are still clinging to this arguement about why TDN represents other military branches.
I dont disagree that there are other branches. I do disagree that TDN is another name for TEC. And dont try to tell me thats not what your trying to argue. Because if it isnt, why use TEC if TDN represents the different branches unified? It makes no sense that the TO would call their Military TEC if they also wanted to call them TDN.
This is getting really old now. No one arguing TDN (atleast the ones still clinging to other military branches as their main cause) Have come up with anything that someone can say, oh its in the lore, or oh its historical. No one has been able to site anything because its complete speculation. Its quite easy to just say "oh Im right, because its the future, and it hasnt happened yet, So that must mean its Network". Come on now, Do you expect anyone to lie down and give you the debate because you used the GOD like arguement of something that hasnt happened yet? The Navy side of the debate has given you numerous examples of why their arguement stands. Without having to delve into the Future as a reference. Admit it its a poor lazy attempt to go over our heads.
Please for the sake of everyone here including yourselves. Go back to the lore, look some historical stuff up about the different militaries of the world (because thats where many of the references to ships and units are coming from) and find something that actually helps you argue your point. Stop trying to use speculation that no one can debate because theres no proof it exists. Its like the arguement of god, neither side has the ablity to say it does or doesnt exist. And no one on the Navy side has said other branches dont exist. We agree, that they do exist. But at the same time, thats not evidence of your arguement. Also, lets stop it here, TDN is not this great big name for ALL BRANCHES of service. Thats what TEC is for. Coalition?? did we miss that? TDN is nothing more then a Marker. Basically a stamp on a military vessel that shows what that vessel belongs to.
You killed my argument in the first paragraph, allegiance. You're absolutely right about the TEC being the name for their defensive force, i didn't take that into concideration and i appologize.
Like I said, Im willing to debate Network, I just want you guys to come to the table with something thats going to challenge my stance. No need to apologize. I should apologize for the appearance of assholish posts Ive made. Which I had no intention of.
i intend to look into this as deeply as possible. Expect my findings by the end of tomorrow at the latest, probably today.
Not all of us who think network think this way.
Thats why it was more oriented towards Callen :: points to his name in the begining of my paragraph::
well uv said that a lot, so i wasnt sure if u knew that wasnt our only argument.
alright, i searched everywhere i could think of to find clues:
The manual, this site's lore page, and in the game itself. Unfortunately, i found only a single piece of very shaky evidence, and it points to...navy.
I say this is shaky because it is open to interpretation and i may be making it into more than it is, and comes down to what makes sense. I had to resort to actually looking at each and every ship up close, and on the side of the Garda reads something like "N-1441". The N being the evidence. I tried and tried to figure out what else this could stand for, but when you look at the other ship's markings there's not much to work with. Cobalt has Light written on top, Cielo has CMD on the side, Krosov has a TEC liscence plate( ). I can't justify that this N stands for Network while it's alone like that, though this doesn't really prove anything in the first place. Navy is something i would expect to be abbrieviated on the side of a ship, though. If anyone has another idea as to what it might mean, i'd love to hear it, but at the very least i've confirmed that there is no mention of TDN in the lore, unless i missed a source. Don't think so though.
but i still say network, if nothing else than for lack of evidence uncontrovertable evidence to the contrary.
I would have to disagree that there isnt a lack of evidence to say if its network or navy. Id have to say theres plenty to argue Navy.
Ingame reference to Fleet (a naval term).........to the actual ship classes, frigate, dreadnaught, cruisers, battlecruisers, battleships, warships and carriers (naval terms)
If you go back to the earlier pages I listed what the US Navy uses as terms for different sized groups. One of those terms is Battlegroup. If you go into the SoaSE Manual and scroll down to the Dunov....A battlegroup is mentioned. (another naval term)
Note: not trying to be an ass, but im trying to make my point, that these are all terms used by navies that have been using alot of these terms in some cases for over 2000 years. You cant argue that things like frigate and battleship or battlegroup arent naval terms. If you disagree please show me where a battleship in real life is used as a term to describe something other then a giant destructive seafaring ship and scifi (fiction) is not acceptable.
