So, now that the first episode has aired, what do you think?
Other than the style (too BSG/Defying Gravity (camera shots and flashbacks) for my taste - it seems the norm these days though) I like it so far.
Good story line, good cast and characters, and a fresh new twist to the SG saga.
Although, why hasn't there been any mention of an actual FTL drive in the other series? If so many ships were sent out with these drives, it should have been noticed by either SG1 or SGA in their searches of the Ancients databases.
But overall, I am looking forward to (hopefully) several more new seasons of Stargate.
Starts on Tuesday 5th October in the UK.
As I watch more of the episodes of this show, the more I wish V was back on already.
SGU, as a current product of entertainment, makes me worry about who the heck the target audience who is suppose to like this may be. I'm hoping that it's just a failed attempt to appeal to everyone simultaneously, but if it is meant to target a singular type of audience then I'm kinda worried.
Yeah, they have some target audience confusion. I actually like SGU now, but it is hard SciFi Drama. I'm pretty concerned the show is going to be canceled because it has such a niche audience.
Given that the makers of this series seem minimally interested in viewer feedback, I think it will go on for some time regardless of how popular it is or isn't. Heck, perhaps as with Star Trek The Next Generation, it's first two season get to be as hokey as possible, but later seasons improve drastically.
I think the show is great I wonder what aliens they will encounter later on in the series.
I'm hoping they'll encounter the replicators on their final episode.
I'm hoping they encounter anyone thats not a human based life form soon (I don't count the life forms on the gate ship). I enjoy the show, but I'm hoping for a little more this season and it's been slow to deliver.
If you haven't watched or heard about what happens in Stargate Universe in 'Malice', this will be something of a spoiler.
Just in case you missed it, Syfy have decided to cancel SGU.
Shame, it was actually getting a lot better in the last season.
Cancel they have
That's too bad!
Its back !
