After I install the OD, I find sometimes OD quit by itself. Someone encounter this situation and why?
Yup, you are not alone on this one. It doesn't happen very often but it happens. A error notice witll pop up and say that ObjectDock has encountered a problem and has to close. It always restarts without any problem and everything is fine. I have no idea what causes it. It happens on my XP and Vista computers. I'm running ObjectDock Plus.
It happens to me infrequently, no idea what causes it, same error as reply #1. Im running ODP on Vista with dual monitor and it always seems to happen when i'm doing something (my PC sits for large amounts of time doing mindless tasks, i have never had an error whilst not sitting at the keyboard clicking away.)
This is a built in feature that senses when your about to do something stupid and shuts down to save you from yourself. It's just going into self-preservation mode. Well....sounds good anyway. Oh! And this was a mandatory feature given to this app at no extra charge by the government. Please don your tinfoil hat before restarting it.
Happens to me now and again. I'm running Vista 32 SP2 HP with the free version of OD. I have OD on Quick Launch and it always restarts ok from this. By the way OD is a brilliant piece of work and this harmless peculiarity is more than easy to live with. OD
Yes, whilst i have found this odd I agree that it has never actually caused me any problems, as it normally restarts itself as soon as I close the error message.
Happened to me as well. I just have to start it up again.
Happens to me on Win7 approx 2x a day.
It seems to happen on my Windows 7 Ultimate x64 laptop after I resume Windows from Hibernate, but it doesn't happen every time though... strange
Very strange. The second time it did it to me it generated a crash report. Anyone else get one? I'm thinking of sending it to support. Maybe they can figure out what it is.
Maybe I find the resolution. You can try it. Please remove the Weather Icon from dock. After I remove the Weather Icon from dock, it work well and never quit by itself. The reason may be the Weather always try to connect the internet to update the weather information.
If there's a connection between the docks behavior and the weather not working again ... hmmmm. When I went into control panel to view system performance I had three caution signs above the text. One says that drivers are causing windows to exit sleep mode slowly. The drivers are for the graphics card. Another say that an app is preventing windows from entering and exiting sleep mode ... the Nexus dock is listed. If one weather part is trying to connect to the net and causing this mischief then it very well could be that both docks, Nexus and OD are being screwed up as a result. They try to update the weather once and hour or however long you specified. Sending queries out there and not getting an answer would, in my opinion, cause them to have fits. Maybe we should get them answer pants. lol
i get this all time on win7 64bit
crashes on hibanate startup
mine still crashes when coming back from hibernate (Win7 x64). When I try to submit an error report, it fails every time (even when I have switched off the AV and Firewall). I'm wondering if the cost of upgrading was really worth all this hassle.
I run Win 7 64 bit and go into sleep mode and don't have any problem coming out of it. I wonder if it's something to do with hibernation?
Hasn't happened in quite awhile now knock on wood. As for hibernation mode. Don't use it. When I step away from my laptop I put it in sleep mode. Hibernate for some reason always causes problems. I only did that once. Never again.
I am using Windows 7 Ultimate x64 as well. Objectdock Plus 2 was working very well until I reasonly kinda re-arrange my HDs then it start happen to crash ODP2 all the time and ask me to send a report to Stardock. I really don't know what is going on.
What do you mean by rearrange your HDs?
It sounds like something ObjectDock was using has been moved. Have you tried uninstalling ObjectDock and then reinstalling it?
It happens to me fairly often on my XP desktop (twice so far this afternoon) and I have to manually restart. I'm very disappointed in OD+ 2.0's stability. What's even more irrating is whenever I click on the button to report the problem, it spins it wheels for a minute and then fails to send the error report!
