I do not choose to be a common person. It is my right to be uncommon. If I can seek opportunity, not security, I want to take the calculated risk to dream and build, to fail and to succeed. I refuse to barter incentive for dole. I prefer the challenges of life to guaranteed security, the thrill of fulfillment to the state of calm utopia. I will not trade freedom for beneficence, or my dignity for a handout. I will never cower before any master. It is my heritage to stand erect, proud and unafraid. To think and act for myself, enjoy the benefit of my creations; to face the whole world boldly and say, "I am a free American."
Freedom requires a moral society. We've lost them somewhere.
Freedom requires our leadership and representatives to be dedicated to preserving our Freedom and to serve the people with honor. - Not happening at all.
Freedom requires an informed society – people must have information to elect and manage their citizen representatives. - Would be interesting to see what percentage of the fiddy2ers voted for der Fuhrer based on the sole fact that he is black. That's not a racist question. It's a question meant to find out how many people actually voted, possibly for the first time ever, just to get a black president in office.
Freedom requires a Free Press to sound the alarm when our Freedom is threatened. - The press is the mouth of Government...it is not free.
Wake up people. Take action. Take back this country of ours. How many of you can honestly say you've read the Declaration of Independence or the Constitution? If you haven't, you are ignorant. Plain and simple. Get a free copy today. It's free. No reason you shoulnd't get one. It's FREE. http://www.askheritage.org/Premium.aspx This should be required reading in all high schools. But it's not. Why is that?
And unfortunately Messiah...this post like many others calling for people to do something...anything to take back the country will fall by the wayside. The truth is...people just don't care anymore. It's to inconvenient for them. And if anyone has the guts to do something...anything drastic...they are now labeled a terrorist...ain't that a hoot!
I have to disagree to this, it comes down to charisma. He has a great way with words and know how to inspire others, right or wrong.
and even if he has strong views about what should be done, he deserves to be heard if not debated. messiah heart is in the right place and cares about where his country is going. That's something others should at least respect.
You should have kept reading Jafo. I clarified that the concept of this counrty was nothing when it started. I didn't mean this land or the 500 Native Nations that we stole the land from.
Because my nick is messiah1, alot of closed minded people just assume that I'm some sort of religeous freak pushing a god agenda. I'm not. The backstory to the nick begins when I was adopted at the age of 10 by religeous zealots that pushed god down my throat every chance they could. By the age of 11 I had the names of the books of the bible memorized. By 13 I had read the bible cover to cover and had to write papers for my adopted father on my interpretation of the books as well as how they applied to my life. I was forced to fast for days to cleanse my wicked ways. etc. etc. ect.
One can only take so much oppression. By the age of 15, I started to rebel. I read as many things as I could about "opposing" religions. I stopped participating in church and it's functions. I decided that religion did not fit me as a person and I gave it up. I joined the Marines at age 17, with their grudging permission and got the hell out of there upon graduation.
Here's where the nick comes in. In my first unit, there was a Sergeant who reminded me of my adoptive parents. Always spewing god this and god that. I have no problem with religion as a concept and do not mind that other's practice it. What I do mind is when it's shoved down my throat. I had many debates with said Sergeant and usually they ended with him frustrated and angry. Now one day, this Sergeant tells us that we all need to come up with call-signs for a mission. So I naturally pick something that is going to get on his nerves. When he asks me what mine is, I tell him messiah. Visibly upset (which was the point) he says "You're not the messiah!" And I said, "How do you know?" That was the end of the conversation. The nick stuck all through my career and has followed me here, with the addition of the 1 since messiah was already taken.
Long I know.
Long? Naaah. Religion is such a private and personal thing, that I feel that's where it belongs (with the individual)...with moderation...anything overdone isn't very tasty, and oppression is precisely what you suffered, from the sound of it. I'm almost tempted to say, "G-d save us from religion." LOL.
Glad I didn't do that to my kids. It shouldn't be foisted on folks, in civilian nor military life although I've heard that there's a lot of that proselytizing crap going on in the military.
Wouldn't the world be a better place if folks just minded their own business?
There were multiple times that I was forced to go to prayer breakfasts in church while in the Marines. Scenario: A high ranking officer would be holding a breakfast. Breakfast would be in a church, I imagine because of the size of the hall. Notice would go out to all the units that they had to mandatorily supply so many bodies. Without consideration of the Marines religeous preferance, they would be selected to attend. It was all about numbers. It won't be a service, there won't be any mention of god...blah, blah, blah. The breakfast was opened with prayer, there was a sermon.
To a point it might be. But for the folks that "mind their own business" when they see something being done that is wrong? Shame on them.
It was long, but it had to be and it was certainly worth it. Thanks for sharing. Now I respect you even more!
Can I go to bed now
Personally, if I were to judge you by your nick, I'd really think the exact opposite. No truly christian person (freak or not) would use the nick messiah. It can easily be interpreted as sacreligious. Not even a satanist would use it, because really, they wouldn't want anything to do with what it stands for.
I don't judge people by their nicks though, unless it's obviously offensive. Well, tbh, messiah probably is quite obviously offensive to strictly religious people, but I can't actually feel it myself... I guess I'm not morally perfect, darn...
Don't forget to watch Obama apologizing to the world for America again this morning.
You are the Man!!!!
I don't have any respect for people who make fun of, or make assumptions about, someones nick. It is a chosen name, that is all.
Interesting story, especially when you consider that 33 years (truth is consistent psychology during this period begins Midlife crisis
I think he was being sarcastic.
If Obama started apologising for everything that was wrong with America, it would be a helluva long speech.
For what it's worth, the same applies to here (UK). We too need to take back our country from the committee forming, tree hugging, do-gooders.
It's our own fault really
Thats just naive, to think that the 'it's all our fault, but I'm a nice guy" routine is going to work on soulless murderers that want nothing more than to kill our children.
Its bad for this country and to anyone who appears weak and appeasing to them. Obama clearly does.
Did you hear what Qadaffi said about him?
Its just this kind of behaviour that is going to put us in harms way. Now they can't even make a solid decision on the fate of our troops.
Wishy washy knee bending...
If your going to fight.. FIGHT TO WIN.
Those soulless murderers don't give a rat's @ss about our children, John. There are 2 kinds of soulless murderers, the kind that are killing for power and the kind under their power that are killing because they love either their culture or their deity so much that they need to make a huge demonstration about that which includes a lot of blood offerings. If you really want to get into the head of those soulless murderers, look no further than the reflection in your own bathroom mirror, because YOU love your country, your culture and your deity just as much as they do, and you want them just as dead because of it. And BOTH you and your enemies are shivering in your boots with fear that the other one will win first.
Tell that to the parents of the victims of WTC.
Agreed.
Amen.. bother... I agree.
Right on Vstyler! I agree with you Messiah1! It took a lot of guts to write what you did and I for one, appreciate it! Thank you Messiah1. There is way too much government in our lives! Government is supposed to represent the people, but instead there is a blatent lack of that! There is an adgenda that is working against freedom in America, there is too much government involvement in our lives. Let's get America back on track, whether you believe in God or not!
Exactly jazzilady and messiah1
With Fuzzy on how long a speech Obama would have to give to apoligize for all the wrongs associated with Americas pursuit of "Liberty, Freedom and Justice" throughout the world usually at the expense of any moral clarity. How long?.............weeks. However, ......Tree Huggers....whats wrong with hugging a tree?.......and forming committees? ...... democracy in action itself! Do-gooders? Who are they?......teabaggers?
