First and foremost I would not reccomend this build for bigginers. It is a little more advanced. Just be warned.
Im sure most of you know me. Erubas is by far my best character and this build is fine tuned. I wasn't going to post it. But I deploy to afghanastan ina month so who cares right?
So here goes.
The great thing about erubus is that he is probably the hardest character in the game to kill in the hands of a good player. Even in 2v1 3v1 situations he usually will escape. Which means you can go behind enemy lines and push offence while your 2 other players focus on defence endgame. Keep that in mind when you run this build.
Favor item - BoF
lvls 1 - Bite
2- Coven
3- Mist
4- Bite
5- Bswarm
6- Poisoned blood
7- Bite
8 - Mass charm - just for telly and heal interupts mainly
9- mist
10- bite
11- bswarm 2 extra range is priceless
12- Poisoned blood 2
13- mist
14-mist
15- Dodge mist ability
16-- vamp aura
17 - mcharm
18- mcharm
19- mcharm
20- befuddle.
Items - I constantly have my gold fluctiating at 0 basically until endgame. You are not going to spend much on cit upgrades because you spend extra gold on cap locks and tps. Erubus is more useful for capping portals and gold flags and tele ganking and defending towers. If your team is smart theyll understand that you spending money on cap locks counters there spending on cit upgrades. My premade runs like that anyway.
Starting items - Monks + 1 cap lock.
in order of importance. - vlemis helm 1750
1500 mana helm.
4000 - narmoth ring and 5200 armor.
Boots of speed if needed.
Endgame Cloak of flames if you can afford it.
Upgrade monks as you can afford it. Keep a rack of tps and cap locks with extra cash. May want to buy a mana pot as well.
You want those mana items asap. I spam mana abilities and mist. mess around with it. Bite then wait for your health to drop abit bite again. if you dont have it on charge. i mist then wait for bite or bwarm to recharge and bite again. IF your skilled you can pull off you do more then enough dps with just bite spam and auto attack.
Im to lazy to explain how I play this character. But those are my exact skills and items. It works for me in all pro games. Read into it as you will, it works.
Is this more of an assissin build or minion build?
Assasin. ! rank in coven is an effective use of 1 skill point though. Especially early game adds significant dps, as well as protection from things like tower rook. Also makes you far more effective at tower pushing.
Good to see that some pros still opt for the assassin build! I've honestly never tried Erebus. I'll have to give this a shot. What's the point to leveling up more than 1 rank of Mist? Are people usually forgetful enough for Poisoned Blood to be worthwhile? What do you think about picking Cloak of Night for multiple warps?
I think Platemail of the Crusader might beat Groffling Warplate for this build, it absolutly does for minion builds.
+1000 armor, +20 hps, +250 minion health +4 minion hps
You can get like +80 HPS and 5800 HP at lvl 15 with this, super sick!
A skilled player uses mist like an interupt. I can't tell you how many life saving snipe fireball spit etc dodges ive done with mist. Especially if you have a team calling out snipes that are targeting you when you can't see. Endgame you have so much mana regen that you can basically permamist. It offers basically the only way for Erubus to give effective endgame creep control if say your losing. Not to mention that I am typically the player who literally camps there portal and gold flags as early as midgame. I don't just caplock and leave I wait till the last second when I can't hold it anymore then caplock. Then either bswarm out or mist, and call for your team to help if needed. You can stay in mist long enough for your team to come help.
Alot of people hate on mist, but trust me in the hands of a skilled player it is very effective.
The poisoned blood is literally just for the hp regen. I don't ever plan on dieing.
I might have to try that other armorpiece. But groffling is very effective to I can tell you that from experience.
Cloak of the night would make you even harded to kill. But probably a little bit less effective at lane holding early game. And to be frank Im extremely hard to kill even without it, even in 2v1 3v1 situations. But yes id say that item would work. Ive dabbled with it and just found BoF or anklet overal more effective.
Thanks for posting the build, might have to give it a go.Good luck in afghanastan!Keep your head low and stay safe.
I'm surprized people are generally more threatened by UB than Erebus.
Anyway, regarding your build - WHY do you spend so much on mist? 1 level is great for escaping or getting out of spit, etc, but why allocate so many points? Do you find that alot of your pro games go to level 15? As you seem to be maxing mist to get bloody haze I'm guessing your games go past 15. Any reason other than haze that you max your mist?
The thing with mist is, you can use it to clear effects even when you have like no mana. You'll only be in mist for a second, and right out again, because no mana.
Like I said. Endgame creep control is why you up mist. And yes in a truly balanced pro game, the game will generally not be over before giants. And sometimes long after.
Oh and your not going to have any mana issues once you get the two helms. And if you get that cloak of the flames endgame you are quite literally unkillable, perma mana.. With great killing power, and gank ability.
My bad... didn't see your response after the OP.
still getting more than 1 mist is
I just tried your build online and it ROCKS!! thanx for sharing it with us. I made a little tweaks tho. I save lvls 8 and 9 so that I get bite 4 + poisoned blood 2 + bat swarm 2 at lvl 10. really powerfull. and the items it have like 80+ hp/s, ridiculous. I ve tried what ntropy suggested:
I think he is right.
+1 from me.
I really like mist later on. It's a great way to wipe out late game creeps out in front of the enemy's citadel clearing the path for yours.
This build looks good, but I would go for coven 3 at level 8 instead of bite 3. At this level this gives you higher dps + opportunity to pull towers in 1 push. Bite 3 is only 300 armor reduction and 10% speed reduction better than bite 1, and cost a lot more mana.
I have played full minions erebus a lot (bite1, then only coven and stats up to level 10, with Bat Swarm somewhere in the path), and it seems it gets its full power around level 8-10, then ennemies stack health and armor too much for your nightcrawlers ; switching to assassin mode there looks like a serious option.
Erebus is my best DG also, our builds are very similar, except I max Mass Charm instead of Mist (only one point of Mist in my build) and I choose differents artifacts.
I know my build is extremely efficient and I'm sure your is also.
Good luck in Afgh.
I generally go with mass charm before mist in my assassin build, but then again we seem to employ somewhat different styles. The only thing I might do differently is skip level 9, get bite and swarm both at level 10, then mist at 11. Possibly the same deal at 14/15. Overall it's a nice build though.
Its kind of hard to have a bad build with erebus...
You really dont need any more minions to take down a tower. I will take down your tower with full hp at leval 2 with this build if it is unprotected.
Homestar, you know I love you. But poison blood has to be the worst thing to put a point into with erebus. With soooooooooo many great options, poison blood? Do you like killing your teammates? If someone kills an erebus, they know not to drink the potion because there is a chance that it is poison blood. Also, the skills largest benefit comes from you dying.... which as an erebus player you should never do. Sorta like that useless oak reincarnate spell, it's conditional on you dying, which you're not supposed to do anyway. I can see how hp per second is good but take a look at this:
You have poison blood at level 6, and mass charm at level 8. Right around levels 6-8 is when people start dying (in a typical pug match). mass charm helps you stop a teleport / let allies gain ground faster to move in for the kill and it also interrupts heal spells. Wouldn't you rather have a kill which gives you 1,500 gold and your allies 500 assist gold which you can use to buy an item that gives you health regen then to put points into a spell with so so health regen and the ability to kill your allies?
I'll still play with you.... but damn if you go poison blood when I play with you I'll kick you in the nuts.
Poisoned blood I is fine for assasin erebus.
Well you get mass charm @ 8. And this build is a typical pro match not pug. Which means my premade knows i have poisoned blood so thats not a worry. I don't ever plan on dieing so don't think of it like that. If I die, I fucked up or the other team is fed. Bottom line.
It's literally for the hp regen and it suits my playstyle. Lane control is my goal and good luck owning me 1v1 unless your team is fed. The goal is to be able to hold crucial points 1v1, so that your cap locks are only used when forced off that crucial point. That is why I get poisoned blood.
And if you try to kick me in the nuts im sorry but my natural reflex will be to guage your eyes out;) what with the army and all.
One skill point to get +15 HPS, I'm definitely in.
My first 10 levels look like:
3 points in bite
2 points in swarm
4 points in charm
1 point in poisoned blood.
Batswarm 2 is so ridiculously good for assassin's, as well as speeding along the game towards the end, allowing you to close in on portal flags fast.
I think Charm is really the spell you get to define you as an Assassin Erebus. Everyone get's bite, most everyone get's bat swarm, but charm is what competes with Coven/conversion aura for that fill in role. Do you overwhelm with an army, or stun gank someone? That's the divider right there.
