so, why isn't this demo up on Impulse? the game will be available here, so why not the demo? or am I just blind/too impatient?
The Demo has been out since Sunday, but wasn't supposed to be released until Tuesday (today). I also suspect that they had some sort of deal to exclusively release the demo on Fileplanet for the first few days.
Yeah the demo has been leaked.
The game is awesome, I'm gonna buy it, once it's out.
Not a bad demo, lets you do a lot in the 2nd scenario (Which is like a survival test). Survived 31 days first time...hard.
Downloading it as soon as I arrive home!
Haha, the second scenario is awesome. I made it to about 40 days. Those raids of 3 ogres are too tough to beat, eventually they broke down all the towers.
Took me 4 times to be the second mission.
Ogres are easy once you have 12 heroes at around level 15 and level 2 towers. The Bear-men parties are going to haunt me... I think I killed four or five. This is fantastic, picking this up the moment it hits Impulse.
You beat the 2nd mission? Jesus...yeah, those damn bear man..one of my lvl 15 warriors strayed over there and a bearman (lvl 20) ate him in about 3 seconds.
Get 6 priests, 6 archers, 6 warriors and 3 wizard (6 wizards, if you can). Spend $500 on each ogre cave attack flag, one at a time and then on graveyards. You'll win quickily.
Priests are most important uy 3 rangers, then 3 warriors, then 3 priests, then 3 wizards, 3 rangers, then 3 priests, and finally then 3 warriors. Focus on market upgrades first. Another major essential is ice bolt for wizards.
thre are a ton of ways to beat the scenario. rushing to dwarves and building a couple of those towers where the bear men come in, a wizards tower, and one guard tower fortified me from them just fine. Priests of krypta are bad to the bone. Particularly if you recruit them from the northern and south eastern temple plots, as there are lots of undead there for them to turn. the dwarves themselves are very tough. I did build one temple to agrela, but I didn't find it all that usefull on this map other than for the resurection spell which makes leveling wizards a lot easier. And yep, don't even bother recruiting wizards IMO until you can afford to research the ice bolt spell.
I've also beaten it ignoring guard towers and hero spamming, and going the elves route. I like that about the game, there are quite a few ways to do things, even for the challanging level.
I've only played twice but I just turtled right away the first game, and 2nd game I attacked and killed a couple spawning points quickly but couldn't make enough money. I'll play again sometime soon.
I'm downloading the demo. Never played the 1st one, but I'm hearing lots of good things.
Or you can get dwarves that kick all sorts of ass.
The first one was good, I didn't think I was going to get this one but the demo is pretty good. Anyone know good pre-order deals?
I survived about 50 days on my fifth and final try. I think the second mission is a bit too hard for a demo/tutorial and will turn off some people who didn't play the first game and are not committed to buying this one. I guess I should have gotten dwarves or whatever, but I hope that the difficulty level of the actual game is a bit better scaled than in the demo.
Oh just made a post about this....didn't see this
Pacov, you're not allowed to go anywhere else. You're needed here. ~This isn't the game you're looking for.~
Is the demo multiplayer?
NO!
Edit: Actually, I was wrong. IGN have posted their review and made special note of the punishing difficulty level. Personally, I think it's high time games started being challenging again - I've grown tired of games where seeing the end credits is a right, rather than something you need to try for.
I agree here... I think they made a pretty big mistake by not have a difficulty level toggle for easy/normal/hard or whatever. I played the original Majesty a lot, and managed to beat the second mission on my fourth try, but I think the average gamer is going to get rocked on mission #2 and a lot of people that didnt play the first one will say "eff this"
I'll be buying the game, but think the demo should have showcased an easier level.
Yeah the 2nd mission is hard as hell but I'll def play it til I beat it and then probably some (since I'm getting this game for Christmas maybe)
I quite like that they gave a challenging demo, and a difficult game is the best to play (Next to an interesting game anyway).
I've made it to the waves of 4 ogres at a time before it did me in. An early marketplace and blacksmith to make money from my heroes and give them potions and new gear seemed pivotal. My best so far was focusing on just warriors and clerics.
The problem I really have late game is getting my heroes to stop just walking around and actually go attack the enemies slaughtering my buildings without spending the entire treasury. Taking out a few of the spawning grounds also seems really important, but the balance is tricky as they have that mob explosion when you finish them off that can waste your early heroes. I haven't been too impressed with the rogues, but then again I haven't used them very much yet. I really think next time I need to get rangers faster to backup my warriors.
